   Charity Stream for Tracy Yardley!

   Howdy, all!   On Saturday April 19th, Find The Computer Room.com will be teaming up with Packrat Comics, Dublin Ohio, to host a special charity stream for the one and only, Tracy Yardley! We aim to start around 3pm EST, and it will be a fun filled event for people of all ages. We plan to spend time playing several Sonic games, talking about the Archie series and Tracy’s influential work on them over the years, and we’ll be airing an exclusive interview with the man himself! In order to explain why the stream is taking place, let me pass over to the man himself:   “To My Wonderful Fans, Having worked with Archie Comics on the Sonic the Hedgehog comics has been a great privilege. Unlooked for, the good people of the Packrat Sonic Club of Packrat Comics in Hilliard, Ohio had  a divine revelation that I could use some help and decided to run a benefit on my behalf. As some may know, I am the father of 5 children. My wife and I adopted 3 and had 2 of our own as well. By many standards I am a very rich man, but this last year has been trying in the money department. I know there are many out there who are in a much worse position that I am, but I’m very grateful for the help offered to me. I am continually awed by the love and encouragement I receive from my fans and I hope to help with future charity efforts to share the amazing goodwill that my fans have shown me. With gratitude, Tracy Yardley!”   Tracy has been kind enough to offer up some personal signed material for the stream, we have signed issues, trade paperbacks, toys and original art to give away for donators!  We hope to see you at 3pm EST on Saturday April 19th at the FTCR Twitch channel for what promises to be an afternoon of fun no Sonic fan will want to miss!   To explain a tad more about it, here's a short video about it:    To keep up to date with information about the stream, please visit the Facebook Event Page.    FTA added a post in a topic Lost World Trailer 2 "This looks a bit like *Insert game here*"    17 Jul 2013

   I like the visual style and art direction that 'Lost World' has, it's really unique and fits well for Sonic. However, I agree with those who say the actual graphics (textures etc) are very underwhelming. If the gameplay is great, on which I'm still not 100% sold (hopefully playing it at 'Sonic Boom' will change my mind) then I can overlook weak textures.
   
   At the end of the day, I just care about the gameplay.

   Actually the OVA was made in Japan in 1996. It was meant to be an ongoing series but for whatever reason (I'm assuming low sales) it ended after 2 episodes. Then in 1999 it was finally dubbed for the west, and they made the wise choice to edit them together and call it a "movie".
   
   Was it shown on American TV? I've never heard about that. I do know Sega asked DiC to make a new Sonic cartoon because the Dreamcast was being released in America and we got Sonic Underground. Thanks DiC.
   
   I honestly doubt Sega care too much about releasing anything on Blu Ray. The old DiC cartoons didn't sell amazing well on DVD apparently, most people disliked X so Blu Ray sales would be low, and not many people outside of big time fans have seen the OVA. If I'm honest what I would really wanna see on Blu Ray would be "Night of the Werehog" and more CGI shorts. Those would look outstanding on a HD TV.

   Based on what Shout! Factory went through with it's SatAM and AoStH DVD's I don't think Blu Rays are ever going to happen. All DiC could supply them with where the original master tapes, as I believe that's all DiC had left. There may be a slim chance there are film reels somewhere, but according to Brian Ward, the Shout! Factory DVD's are the best it's ever going to look.
   
   Underground was colourd digitally, as such there's almost no chance of their being film stock to use for a Blu Ray. On that note, TMS has been digitally colouring cartoons since the mid-90's, as such it's unlikely X would have the material needed for an effective HD master.
   
   The OVA seems the best bet, but since Sega has all but been ignoring it for the last 10 years (save for an edited version of Look-A-Like appearing on the 'True Colors' album) it is unlikely we'll see it.
   
   Would be amazing though, seeing "STRANGE ISN'T IT?!!?!" in HD would be fantastic!

   Just popping in with a quick thought, a few pages back someone made the comment about if these characters where meant to speak why didn't Sega have them speak or write text in, and there is only one example I can think of from the classic games.
   
   In Sonic and Knuckles, in "Hidden Palace Zone" after you defeat Knuckles and Eggman steals the emerald, Knuckles is clearly shown shouting angryily at Eggman. Granted, we don't hear what he says, but he is clearly animated as speaking. Which if Knuckles (who is also seen chuckling, despite what his theme song states) could talk, clearly Sonic, Tails etc can as well. Which I do think shows that Sonic Team always thought of Sonic as a character who does speak, it just wasn't needed at all for the games.
   
   In terms of Generations I can totally see why they are keeping Classic a mute, it's how most people remember him, and I respect that. Just, as it's been said before, I don't see the logic in how he doesn't speak but Modern can. Unless Classic is a mute through choice it just doesn't make sense to me.

   I (tried) watching the 06 one, got about 90 seconds and had to stop. At first I thought they were trying to be funny, then 60 seconds in I realised I had to wrong, then after 30 more seconds I was just praying I was.

   Exactly he doesn't think it's the Master Emerald. He think's it's a Chaos Emerald and steals it. Thank you for proving my point, not at one point does he think of stealing the Master Emerald. Your quote of "When Eggman revives shadow, what does shadow say? He'll grant Eggman a wish... on one condition... "Bring me more chaos emeralds" and where? "On the central control room... of the Space Colony Ark" now... how does Eggman react? He goes and steals the master emerald... " makes it sound like as soon as Shadow tells him to bring Chaos Emeralds he goes out and steals the Master Emerald on purpose. Which he doesn't, and which you admit he doesn't. Which is the problem the guy who disagreed with you in the first place said. It's not so much that he doesn't steal it, he clearly does, and he finds it because he's looking for Chaos Emeralds, but not at one point does he set out to steal the Master Emerald, which is what you implied in that quote.
   
   I get that, but again, why link to a site that now holds no eveidence of such a name? It's a watse of a link and meaningless, apart from confirming the first half of the name you quoted. I would have put more faith into linking to a forum thread.

    There's a big difference. He doesn't set out to steal it, he just finds it and steals it. When he goes out, he has zero interest in the Master Emerald, he doesn't even have a use for it. He goes out purely for Chaos Emeralds, but upon finding the Master Emerald and him being a dick he snags it. The way you word it you make it sound likes that the first thing Eggman does is to purposly set out to steal the Master Emerald, which is just wrong.
    
    Actually Mr Condescending I did, but again why post a link to a page that calls it "Sonic Adventure 3: Shadow The Hedgehog" when your text calls it "Sonic Adventure 3: Shadow of a Hedgehog"? A small difference I know, but it only helped prove half your statement and thus was pretty pointless when you could have explained the TSS article in that post.

    From your original post you made it sound like Eggman goes out and steals the Master Emerald on purpose, which he doesn't. He thinks it's a Chaos Emerald, and just steals it anyway.
    
    And for the name, why bother linking to a page that doesn't prove your point?

    Even though it turns out to not be real. The Black Knight. Sonic slices that bastard in half, and there's even dialouge that directly addresses the fact that Sonic's plan is to kill him. At the time the slicing happens, Sonic thinks he's a human. His response "Guess I can't be the hero every time!". I've always seen Sonic as a "the ends justify the means" kinda guy, and as evident in Black Knight, if the only way to bring peace to a world is the kill the bad guy, Sonic will do it.
