As far as Sonic games are concerned, the Classic gameplay in Generations is almost nothing like the gameplay in the Classic games. But it still evokes the same feeling somehow and manages to be infinitely better than the Modern gameplay (which, for the record, I still really enjoy)

@ Prince Solaris: Gotta be honest, the physics of Generations 3DS are worse than the console versions'. They once again don't work with the gameplay, which is especially evident when playing C&P'd classic layouts/

I dunno, I think the 3DS version emulates the actual classic physics a little better.

Generations classic wasn't the same as the actual classics, but it was better "optmised" if you will. The level design works perfectly for the mechanics on offer.
