Wait a second.

You MUST StreetPass with other people who HAVE Generations to unlock stuff ?

Crap. I never get any StreetPass in my town, and liking stuff like Sonic is ridiculous when you're over 10 is shameful, so I'm screwed. :‹

Rush without tricks is dull as hell. That's why I can't stand Colors DS or Sonic 4. I'm not really too big a fan of Rush Adventure either, but I can't quite remember why. I think it lacked the charm Rush had for me, as well as that stupid sailing system that completely broke the pace.

This, I adored the trick system in Rush and it was one of the biggest factors towards my positive outlook on the two games. I hope they do something with it by the final build

I though I would hate the Rush style without tricks, but the DS version of Colors proved me wrong. I found that game to be even more involving than the two Rushes, and I may in fact think it is the best of the DS Sonic games. Not sure yet though, as Rush does have quite a bit going for it as well. Rush Adventure though, while a good game in its own right, is definately 3rd place in my view, though.

And Sonic Chronicles is, as Donkey Kong Country 2 would put it, a "No Hoper".

You can't stand Sonic 4 because it's a shitty game, not because you don't have to mash a button to gain boost.

You're right, I can't stand it because it's a shitty game.

It's a shitty game because it tries to be a classic game by not letting me mash a button to boost, and leaving everything else the same.

Along with having shitty music, a development cycle that was nothing less than insulting to fans, dull level designs, rehashed everything, an attack that practically breaks the game, and overall an air of laziness. But that's beside the point.

Before I abandon this thread, I'd like to say that this was no "new" info at all. Just stuff we knew already...worded a tad differently.

The info is new. While we knew the game supported StreetPass, SEGA hadn't told us exactly what we would be gaining from it. I'm also pretty sure we didn't know the game supported the Play Coins feature, and I'm pretty sure we didn't know the 3DS version would have characters join you after rescuing them either.

I didn't care about the Play Coins thing, so I guess I forgot that part. The characters thing was probably mentioned before, because I feel like I already knew.

Sigh. If nothing else at all, Sonic 4 had good music. Stop saying it's shit like its a fact, people. You're shitting on other people's taste in music, and there's no real discussion or argumentative material in that. Music, unlike gameplay or storytelling or anything else, is almost exclusively subjective.

The amount of irony makes this hard to take seriously, unfortunately.

I thought it had shitty music. Better?

Agreed...sorry, but music does not redeem a game of poor quality. If that was the case Sonic 2006 is a good game because it had a (subjectively) amazing soundtrack.

Am I doing it right?
