This topic is about another Sonic fighting game. Would you like one, how would you like it, what controls should it have, etc etc. Myself, I'd love to see a fighting game that takes a lot from Brawl, but with a health bar in place of the knock-off-stage mechanic, and more focus on combos. For example, you could interrupt your three-hit forward air combo (in place of the single air attack) with a down attack, in which instead of doing his down kick, Sonic would do a Sonic-Eagle style axe kick. Also, I'd like (and this is something I think can apply to all fighting games) the game to reward you for using different attacks, and not spamming the same combo, maybe making a combo do less and less damage if you use it repeatedly?
In short, a brawl-style game with more focus on combos, but still retaining the platformer-like, un-rigid controls. I would go into more detail but I think you get the idea.
Discuss!

I'd like to see another one, but it'd have to learn from the mistakes of its predecessors. Fighters was just a really simplified version of other arcade fighters, and Battle, while fun, was simple to the point that playing story mode quickly becomes boring, and was really easy to break (stand in corner, wait for enemy to walk up to you, heavy attack ,repeat).

I'd like to see something in the same vein as the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series, myself. Sonic the Fighters was a bit too cumbersome and 'hardcore'/ technical to be accessible and playable by the masses, whereas Battle wasn't really a 'proper' beat-em-up.
I think Brawl is a bit too basic, but the Naruto GC/ Wii games have a pretty good balance. So I'd go for something in that sort of style. There's certainly plenty of characters they could use, now.
Come on, we've had tennis and racing, fighting now please SUMO.

I've never been interested in traditional fighters, so if we do see another fighting game, I'd rather they not go that route. Something more like the Smash Bros games, with simple inputs and less rigid more platformy movement, is the direction I'd take.

I hope SUMO does eventually end up making a Sonic fighting game of some sort, though the first time they did it, it probably wouldn't be a "full" Sonic fighter...they seem more likely to continue the Superstar/All Star brand at present, though I could very well be wrong. I'd imagine there would be at least some Smash Bros. influence, but hopefully the game engine won't try to be an exact clone of that style, and have something to make it stand out its own.

I want one of these 2D Japanese style fighting games with the explosive special moves and layers to the actual gameplay. Guilty Gear is pretty complex I think. There's no reason Sonic and friends can't fly around the screen like this, and blast off a special move.

I wouldn't mind another Sonic fighting spin-off game could feature Sonic Characters or a mix up of SEGA characters or maybe all together, each could have their special move like in ASR which was known as "All Star". I want a 3D style fighting where you are able run around and have lots of space to hide or prepare an attack and strike your opponent without warning and being able to adjust the camera angle at a right and comfortable position, explosions, special powers to the MAX and thrills lots of thrills
