  • Modern Casino Night is the DLC music which doesn't sound "Modern" in the slightest

Well, at least that looks somewhat fun...I can't tell what's happening in the Silver fight at all. Then again, I shouldn't pass judgement yet.

That's a boss fight. Silver's level is litteraly running right until you hit the goal ring. He doesn't even appear to be attacking you or fighting you in anyway. He throws something in your general direction once.

I don't get Modern Tropical Resort's music. It's just like the original, only with a new synth I don't like and it's faster than the original. Sounds like a boost/speed shoes track. It's a kinda lazy remix. The soundtrack of the game being sub-par is odd. You can't pin that on Dimps cause they never do the soundtracks. It's SEGA's in house team, but if they churned out this stuff then it's obvious how much effort they put in.

Great, now we're getting people saying they're purposely going to pirate it/buy it used so they don't support it.

But I don't think they realize the profits go toward the same place, Sega.
Edit: Also, the Rivals were straight lines in Generations too. In fact, I think MORE goes on in the 3DS version.

If I don't like a game, and especially if I don't like the development of it I'm not going to let them have my money. Ergo, I'll still get it legally but won't let them have any of my money. The stores make about 12% profit on new games, and 100% profit on pre-owned ones. The publishers make nothing on pre-owned sales.

Also what you said about the rival battles is an utter lie and such terrible denial I can't stop laughing.

Hell the rival bosses are more like a homage to sonic rivals if anything. And that Tropical Resort 3DS remix is fucking awesome why the hell is anybody complaining about it?!

Great, now we're getting people saying they're purposely going to pirate it/buy it used so they don't support it.

This slaps me on the knee. thinking you can pirate on the 3DS...

...Is this guy f'real?

Yes he is! The 3ds remix does not sound like how a modern mix should its basically using the DLC music which envokes a more classic feel to it.

Am I the only one that enjoyed the autospin? It would suck if Dimps just put you through a booster with you running into the enemy.

It sucks that an enemy is behind a booster in the first place. When there's a booster, I expect to go really fast, and then be able to take an alternate path afterwards.

That KINDA looks like a straight line, that NOBODY complained about. Posted Image

That's because it's from Sonic Adventure 2, which is the inarguable greatest game in the Sonic franchise.

And the guitar is completely different which adds a mini solo. I don't understand, if this is lazy, then Modern Speed Highway, Seaside Hill, and Planet Wisp are 10x lazier.

Most of you are crying and complaining about the Silver boss being a straight line.

I'm sorry, but; What the Hell do you call this?

That KINDA looks like a straight line, that NOBODY complained about. Posted Image

Woah now, that's missing the point royally. It's a straight line where you're attacking a moving target who also attacks you. And if you stop, you'll probably get yourself killed. The Metal Sonic battle on the console version is a straight line too, but people aren't complaining about that because of what the player has to do. The Silver 'race' (along with the two others) on the 3DS version see you running along a path that plays itself and you only have to boost to win. Please do some thinking before you try to act like a smart arse next time. It's annoying if you're not going to try and understand the problems people have.

... I actually have said they were lazy before Posted Image Classic was better though. Modern Tropical Resort just seems bleh. They didn't do much to remix it or make it particularly interesting.
EDIT: I got bored before it got to the mini-solo however. Still a lame remix in my eyes (ears?).

Planet Wisp is done with different instruments, Seaside Hill mixes in Ocean Palace, but Speed Highway was pretty lazy.

So? The money goes toward Sega, which funds future games. Generations HD doesn't pay itself, I'm sure Colors Wii/DS payed (literally) a role to that.

Ok, tell me. What part of Metal Sonic is NOT a straight line? Or how about Shadow? Or even Silver?
Unless you're trying to tell me I'm wrong because it is in 3D.

Speaking of remixes? Why weren't the classic versions of the modern stages in the 3DS remixed? It would've worked well like it did in the HD version. Actually that Classic Crisis City remix...

I wasn't trying to make myself sound smart. I'm just saying, there are a few other straight line levels in past Sonic Games. Even if they added the option of Rivals attacking you in the 3DS version with the straight line; people would still get their panties in a knot over the fact that it's a straight line. Therefore; I was pointing out that simple fact with that video. It was a past, popular game that everyone loved. But Sonic took one wrong turn, and now everyone bashes the new games with problems they find, that are literally in the old games they love so much. People complain about glitches they find in the new Sonic games, saying the games are gonna suck. I don't know how many times I've gotten in situations with my Classic Sonic games on my Sega Genesis where I've been glitched in walls, or stuck in the floor somehow, and had to wait for 10 minutes / reset my Sega Genesis just to start playing again. (Totally unrelated to Sonic Generations, sorry. I'm just saying. xD)

For a handheld game, this looks beautiful. ALTHOUGH the Dreamcast boss totally shows that Dimps could have made Modern Sonic levels a lot better than they are. Which I don't mind, I love the Sonic Rush type of Gameplay.

Metal Sonic has a line of platforms during the Maximum Overdrive sequence, and Shadow has several alternate paths in it's loop, I've got nothing for Silver though, unless you count jumping ontop of his wave of debris.

Though better level design =/= having more going on, seeing as the HD version actually has the rivals attacking you, and you attacking them, instead of a flat out race to the finish

Modern Speed Highway, Seaside Hill, Planet Wisp all are lazier than that remix, by that logic, and we know that ain't true. Yet it's wrong for me to take issue with them reusing the big-band remix of Casino Night, which barely fits in with that version of the level in the first place.... Posted Image

Personally, I think it's an excellent remix, reminds me of the Crisis City modern mix in that it preserves the feel of the original song while upping the tempo, as well as throwing in a solo of some sort. Now if you wanna talk about a lazy remix, take a look at Classic Tropical Resort or Classic Water Palace. I almost doubt that they're even remixes at all. But hey, everyone's got different opinions on what defines a solid remix, so I'll respect that.

That isn't the point, the HD rival battles actually require you to put some degree of thought into winning, whilst in the 3DS version you can more or less hold Y untill the you reach the goal with little to no consequence.

I think actually buying the 3ds version would only give the wrong impression and could only do wrong for sonic's future. THey need to get the message, that we don't like dimps's take on sonic games and especially not classic gameplay, by not buying the games.

Tropical Resort Classic uses the remix from TGS

I agree on this (except for Silver) Metal Sonic and Shadow are pretty much races with 4 hits (1 for Shadow)
With Metal Sonic, you just wait until he gets tired and then you attack.
With Shadow, you are literally racing him 80% of the battle just to get the purple orbs, then you activate purple boost and defeat him with ONE HIT.

Silver is better than them, Perfect Chaos and Death Egg Robot, though.
