Cool, but if you consider the HD version the Real one, your posting this on the wrong topic.Compare this to Generations' (the real one) Chemical Plant.
I guarantee you Chemical Plant would look like that in JENURASHUNS.

I don't know why are you talking about your "JENURASHUNS" fan game on this thread but i think you should get back on topic.Compare this to Generations' (the real one) Chemical Plant.

No, that actually looks a bit better than the 3DS version would. I really don't know what Dimps is doing...like I don't get how they look at this product and feel satisfied as developers.Compare this to Generations' (the real one) Chemical Plant.
I guarantee you Chemical Plant would look like that in JENURASHUNS.

He was referring to the fangame called the 3DS Version of Generations.

SO MUCH WIN....Are you guys seriously arguing over this game, really guys? I mean for fuck's sake, its just a fucking game, let it go. I understand this is the topic about the game, but all we've been doing is bitching like children.

It's obvious that the HD versions beats this version, but this one looks nice to IMO.

Instead what I'm going to do now is give you guys something to read to tide you over until tomorrow's NA release date. Don't worry, it's fun, and it can also affect your standing on the forums if you don't listen, so everybody wins.
Here's an example list of some of the dumb shit I do not want to see in this topic once I open it again (the quotes are actual posts I pooled from this thread):
- General rudeness. This should be obvious, and I haven't figured out why people can't seem to pull this off. This includes but is not limited to: "So you prefer holding right on the D-Pad over Generations' 3D gameplay?" or any of its variants in response to somebody who likes the game, initiating or jumping into arguments with the eagerness of rabid dogs, acting pedantic about your opinions, arguing over semantics, etc.
- Sarcasm. God damn it, am I sick of seeing this in this thread. We don't normally have a rule for this, but seeing as how it falls under the rudeness I described above, I am going to keep an open eye for this. Comments such as "you mean boosting in blue color and then boosting in purple? wow. BIG DIFFERENCE." are not allowed here anymore. Word your responses carefully, and don't be a jackass about it.
- Posting macros or video responses in an effort to be clever against the person you're debating. I don't care if you post a "witty" video response and back it up with a three page argument - don't do it anyway. We have a rule against posts that contain nothing but videos/macros, but for this topic, it yet again falls under looking like a general douchebag, so I'm cracking down on any post that contains them and uses them as a means of acting like a jerk to the opposing person, period.
- Complaining about people who don't agree with you. This includes (but again, is not limited to) bitching about other people in this topic who either like or dislike the game, about the fanbase, about the thread... In fact, you know what, just don't bitch about other people, period. Here's an example of what boils my piss: "wow! You people just don't know how to appreciate anything, do you?" It's a fucking video game guys, no one's going to cut off your arms if you don't frantically pound at the keyboard to make some "bold" statement (read: complaint) about people complaining.
In case you haven't gotten a memo, I am issuing free and immediate strikes to anyone who does any of the above. I should have wrote this in my last post so you guys would have aaaaall weekend to check it out, but oh well. Game's released tomorrow and that's when it opens, so damn it you better play nice.

That's my theory, at least. The 3DS version feels like it was an afterthought altogether. I would have rather had the game be released in the first quarter of next year or instead have the time and effort poured into a new Sonic Rush entry instead, because this latest game is NOT helping Dimps recover their image.

While I'm 100% sure the 3DS version went into development long after it's console counterpart, it definitely didn't go into development as late on as you think. The delayed announcement, which was rumoured practically right from the start, was part of a marketing scheme so it could be announced and showcased all at once by a Nintendo publication. On top of that, Iizuka spoke in one interview about the development process. Initially there was going to be a Wii version of Generations but the project was abolished pretty early on and all signs point to that eventually becoming Colours, while they decided to make a 3DS version instead. It was definitely, definitely approved long before April. The game isn't a mess, it's just bad. It may have been a little rushed but not to the point where the game would end up in the state it's in. Those rumours about it being delayed to next year were, IIRC, all founded on a mis-print somewhere. And if they were rumours that turned out to be false, well they aren't really evidence at all.I get the impression that the 3DS version wasn't green-lighted until around the time the HD version was announced, since we never got confirmation about it until much later. Dimps, believe it or not, aren't completely incompetent game designers, and have given us some great handheld titles in the past. I think that this game was Rushed (lol) to meet the same deadline as the HD version once it was approved. Remember how there were rumors of it being delayed until next year?

Dimps have, in recent years, proved themselves to be completely incompetent Sonic game developers. We've had Sonic 4, Unleashed Wii, two Rush clones with increasing stagnancy and now this nightmare. Their recent track record is pathetic.

I might not be able to pick it up until the holidays anyway; I'm gonna have to procure a 3DS for myself first.
Though to those who plan on getting a 3DS with the game (North Americans, namely)... get this instead of the standard 3DS.

6.5 out of 10 for one review
and 3.5 out 5 for another review
the good thing is that the 6.5 has nothing to do with the level design, its the 3D effects and somewhat the controls that lowered the score.
