I don't like immature humor

I don't typically like Gainax (Evangelion 2.22 and Panty & Stocking are the only exceptions)

@Chaos Warp, I've mentioned this before, but TTGL not only owes its existence to previous works, it was actually made specifically to honor them, Getter Robo in particular. Having an "Oh I may have not watched other shows but I'm sure TTGL's still one of the best!!!" attitude is not only disrespectful to older shows, but ironically, to TTGL itself since it's denying its main reason of existence.

Two words to get you started. Getter. Robo.

EDIT: And replying to the "how long has Gundam been a toy commercial" question, since the start. But they've only started being more obvious in the 90's. And they've only been so explicitly obvious as to make it about the toys around 2005, IIRC. But only in specific shows, you've still others that are standard sci-fi fare. And SD comedic shows too.

Panty & Stocking's entire premise revolved around its overt sexuality and absurdity - it's a comedy and doesn't pretend to be more or less than that. While it did go a bit overboard in my eyes at times, I enjoyed the over the top, silly nature of the show and I appreciated that it had a consistent nature throughout.

Sooooo....

Has anyone seen Muteki Koujin Daitarn 3? I'm considering watching it.

In Italy we love that show! It's one of my favourite mecha series! The main character is a total badass, I must say. A mix between James Bond and a Giant Mecha pilot. Watch it if you can.

No, seriously, Haran Banjo is a freaking beast. In Super Robot Wars Z, he is the only man Lordgenome fears.

I still think Zone of the Enders is my favourite mecha anime as far as anything goes, I did enjoy Gravion on too even though it's pretty much a low budget incomplete series.

I really liked the mecha episodes in Burn Up Excess too, the mecha cops going beserk, the android that kidnaps a famous virtual idol in a temporary android body, mecha wasps and super soldiers taking over the Eiffel Tower, Riku escorting a self aware hover tank over a desert from battling agencies trying to steal it etc.

As old as Burn Up is, it had some fucking crazy cases, and a ton of variety....I'm really surprised it went under so many radars actually, it was just as intense and zaney as Excel Saga in some retrospect.

I suddenly have a new appreciation for that song.

This is why I like it when anime themes are dubbed. With the original it's like "this is a great song, has a nice melody to it." But when it's in your language you connect more with the song's meaning and it's just that much better, imo. This is also why I like it whenever dubbing companies like Funimation get the chance to dub the theme songs of some of their shows, and I feel like it should be done more often, as long as it's translation and the singer(s) are good.

I agree. It's kind of a dead practice now.

I agree with this for the most part, but I won't lie, the weaboo in me can't help but feel that even the best of them sound just a bit off.

Oh, also, this is pretty great -

I like her voice.

I didn't notice that Freezing's second season was airing in the Fall. Another guilty pleasure of mine, girls fighting and destroying their clothes, mmph, I can't wait.

So just what is Super Sonico anyway? The only Sonico I know spells her name with a K.

She's probably explain it better, but I think it's like a marketing line.

I wonder how many boob jokes are gonna be in

I was on Tumblr and stumbled upon something called "Saint Young Men" and I love the art style. This anime picks fun at religion and sorts like that, but-I don't know how to describe it. It's just perfect.

Hi

Super Sonico is basically a fanservice mascot for a company called NitroPlus, she is however based off of a real person, a band called SoniComi consisting of 3 people, Sonico is only ever used for typical fanservice in all forms, media, figurines, stationary etc. She's literally known for her pink hair, headphones and surprise surprise, her incredibly large chest, none of her official art work is out right hentai/porny but I'd go as far as saying it's incredibly close to it, a bit more than ecchi.

Her music is pretty fantastic though, she's also one of the few anime girl's who aren't stick thin with out of proportion curves, she's pretty much in proportion with her body, she's chunky & curvy which is refreshing to see as Sonico loves to eat various foods, and loves to cook too even.

Sonico is rapidly becoming the next big thing in Japan, Music, figures, clothing and even her own themed Phone and Laptop, PC dating games, a 3DS "watch Sonico sing on stage in your choice of clothing" to a PS3 title where you photoshoot Sonico in hundreds of settings in HD with famous outfits, or lack of there for, you even have the chance to romance her and take her on dates etc. and now her own Anime, which is hardly surprising at this point.

TL;DR - Sonico is basically a more risqué Hatsune Miku, Nitroplus don't even hide the fact that she's shamelessly used for porn/sex sells mentality, as they often back it themselves.

P.S It's actually Super Sonico in Japan, but in America it's Super Soniko with a K, the only reason I call myself Soniko on the boards is due to the Forum registration blocking the word "Sonic" when name changing, so I had to settle for Soniko :P

Looks like I will be meeting popular voice actor, Crispin Freeman in early November. I can only make room for getting an autograph for ONE person, anyone want one?

That's awesome.

In fact, Jesus and Bouddha are on vacation on Earth. They share an appartment, Jesus owns a blog on the Internet, he plays some MMORPG, Bouddha is the kind of guy who don't want to spend too much money for things (and he loves it when there are sales), he's also a mangaka...

Those gifs come from the movie, but the manga is hilarious. I've read the first six books that have been released in French and it's definitely one of my favourite.
