Thanks, though I'm nervous of the fact that the manga is still ongoing. I really hope the anime just doesn't randomly stop like some manga adaptations of anime do.

Well they've actually been building up an anime original plot to go with the manga material, which is kind of the overarching plot while they do episodic adventures that are adapted from the manga content.

Now, this might make people scared, but this OG plot/content has been very well done and fits with the original material well so far. It all comes down to how they conclude it in the next 2 episodes really.

Also since the show is selling well in Japan we might get Season 2, though no confirmations yet.

Any shows with a positive family bond that might amuse me? Family as in sibling bonds, parent-child bonds, etc.

Well there's the movie Summer Wars. Not a show, but it does have some good family bonding.

Wolf Children maybe? Tokyo Godfathers in a way? Both are just good movies in general though.

seeing Jitsu wa's character get turned into normal anime designs is kind of heartbreaking. I got a similar feeling looking at the Prison School anime designs. eh

Thanks folks, also..., are there any newer family-friendly anime out as of late that are not Miyazaki-based? I am trying to see if my niece will like newer stuff when she gets a little older.

So I was shown the first episode of Black Bullet. Somewhat entertaining. The monsters could be scarier.

Japan has already a full-scale version of a Gundam, now its time for Shinji's Eva Unit-01.

Not to be outdone by Odaiba's fully-sized Gundam, Shinji's Eva Unit-01 is getting its own 1:1-scale replica in the series' setting of Hakone. The site itself is rather inconspicuous but still above ground. You won't have to worry about getting lost in a complicated, underground complex to see it. The six-meter (about 20 feet) tall Unit-01 will instead be installed at EXPASA Ashigara, a highway rest stop by July 17.

Unit-01 won't be located next to the toilets, though. The project's crew plan to also build a replica NERV hanger to house it in. EXPASA Ashigara will host Evangelion-themed events from July 17 to December 23 with tie-in food, goods, and even booth models.

A replica of Unit-01's head was previously the star a projection mapping show at the Fuji-Q Highland theme park.

Okay so Hibike Euphonium hit me right in the fuckin' nostalgia and actually managed to tear me up.

This show is real as hell, man. Being a former band geek I've seen just about everything and felt most of what the people in this show felt. Seeing an awesome final performance come together so well always makes me feel way too ecstatic. Like seeing the band improve throughout the show reminded me so much of my time in high school, from the rough beginnings to nailing that final band competition.

Geeeeez, I wish I was back in high school band again...So many good fucking times.

This should be the right place to show this AMV, without it being drowned by countless status updates,  made by the talented Soul's Team for the Japan Expo AMV Contest. The Co-Star is a little someone called Mako Mankanshoku, from "Kill La Kill".

First episode of Jitsu Wa is out. It's...okay, I guess?

I mean, I didn't dislike it, but it didn't really get me excited either. The animation's not great, I'm not sold on some of the voices, and I'm still a bit bugged by the character designs. But it did take the manga a few chapters to hit its groove, and I still got a few grins out of it, so it could be alright once it gets to the stronger material.

Best character is still the best at least, even though she's only been in the op so far.

e: hm, I rewatched it and...maybe I was a little harsh at first. It's still not a top-tier production, but I think I'm pretty solidly ok with it, rather than hesitantly ok.

It's still cute+dumb, and that's the important thing.

So, I just finish watching Punch Line... It's okay. Pretty good tbh, not as good as Terror in Resonance, which was MAPPA's other original work. But still fun, but I'm bad at reviewing shit and don't know where to start.

'spose I'll start with, not really understanding Guriko's reasoning for doing what she did. She's gives us an ambiguous "People change over 9 years" and we get some hint of it in flashbacks, but I kinda wish we got more of it. Second, I don't really get what's happened to Pine here? He's just reliving the cycle again and again even though he fixed the future? What's the cause of this?

But all in all, I probably would recommend it, if you don't mind fanservice-y stuff, so, give it a watch, it's on Crunchyroll and only 12 episodes, so.

Well, Non Non Biyori Repeat finally started. I REALLY needed this show again, with me having some depression issues lately, and it's still as healing, relaxing, and warm as the first season. I was confused for about 14 minutes until I realized it was a prequel episode before Season 1.

The school entrance ceremony scene in particular was just so wonderful. Seeing that country side once again after 2 years and its green pastures, running riversides, hills, and the Cherry Blossom tree just made me feel content and peaceful for the first time in a few months.

So glad Gatchaman is back. Pretty dodgy pacing this first episode, but otherwise as amazing as always

holy shit chaos dragon was bad lol. Not even in the vein of stuff like SAO or Oreimo or Cross Ange or whatever, which were just incredibly trashy in lots of ways, it just completely failed in so many ways as a story and as a visual piece of entertainment. Exposition in the dialogue, exposition in the text where they couldn't fit all of the exposition into the dialogue, exposition in a hilariously text-filled eyecatcher during the ad break, exposition in one character's dying breaths as she describes a blood ritual as she's being sacrificed for that very blood ritual.

Even the production is terrible, animation was incredibly limited, character designs were fucking ridiculous, characters are frequently off-model, soundtrack is completely generic. Oh wait no, we got some metal guitar riffs during the aforementioned sacrifice's "tearful" death. That gave me a good laugh.

Got these in my list to watch when they are dubbed. Dragon Ball Super, Gangsta, God Eater, Prison School. Might be awhile but oh well. I got other stuff to watch in the mean time.

Right now, I am considering Amagami SS. The trailer I saw seems like it might crack a smile with me.

Honestly I didn't even bother to look it up. It just sounded interesting.

Pretty sure it's a H-anime (I mean the figures that come from the series are all cast off/x-rated so I don't know) It's about dominating and discipling students or something lol.

Well I'll be damned, guess I'll cross that off the list that stuff isn't really my cup of tea.

Actually no, surprisingly it's not an H-anime. It's actually a comedy believe it or not, despite the synopsis. Garnt(one of the most famous anime reviewers) actually likes the manga it was based off. (Because, according to him, it's the fun type of stupid)
