Check it for what?

It wasn't quite "check" what I wanted to mean, but finally thinking about giving us a decent continuity alignment.

Regardless of how closely it attempts to follow the games, it is not the games. It's a whole new tablecloth, and even if they manage not to spill wine on this one, the original remains stained.

As long as it could keep a consistency on the games' continuity and make better justice to the "Stained Ones", that'd still be great.

What about it? Even if they go so far as to retcon those games, that can't erase them from our experience. Even if they try to fix it, there's nothing that can change the fact that, in 2006, they released one of the worst games this series has ever suffered. And that game will unavoidably corrupt any attempt at a "good" '06.

As long as it could keep a consistency on the games' continuity and make better justice to the "Stained Ones", that'd still be great.

Whether or not you think it'd be "great", it doesn't change anything.

At the very best SEGA can release a continuity book, or have a small file dedicated to retelling the continuity in a way that isn't ridiculously poor, in the disk of a newer game. However, they cannot remove the emotions we felt when they slung literary shit at us in the form of ShtH (game) and S06. Retelling and retconning the bullshit from the series officially using unlockables in a game can only do so much.
In the end, SEGA and Sonic Team made poor decisions and they're going to have to live with them and just try to bounce back stronger, rather than endlessly poring over split milk and acheiving nothing.

They need to take their own fucking advice and Live and Learn. Take mistakes in your stride and move onwards and upwards.

Or at the very least remember your mistakes so you know what not to do in the do in the future.

That's it! A book! Why haven't I thought of that before?!
A book with nice art by Yuji Uekawa retelling all events from Classics up to most recent games could be enough to fill many people's hunger for a continuity alignment...

As long as the art were by Uekawa and weren't as confusing as the MGS Graphic Novels, even that'd be awesome...

Do you guys think that if I try to express some ideas that have been discussed here in the forums to Ken Balough, he could try to bring up those ideas to SEGA's higuer ranks?
