Never said it wasn't easy. It was a one hit "kill" you can pull off in 7 seconds, but that doesn't change that it couldn't be more awkward and anticlimactic. And if Big Rigs is "So Bad, It's Hilarious" then this can be too, but in mechanics, controls, gratification and all around necessity, it's still abysmal.

Eh, again, I didn't care; I was just happy I was done with Big's so-called "storyline." One of his levels I was stuck on for probably months, just because I didn't know how to reel Froggy in with a different method.

Sonic 2 first boss. They weren't even trying. It must have been SO difficult to program too, "car goes left, then right". GENIUS

Metal Overlord in Heroes. I thought I was going to fight Metal Sonic, not his Godzilla form. Not to mention you only have to spam the Team Blast to beat him.

Really? Sure it's a simple boss, but what about the fact that the drill flies off before the final hit, catching out first time players?

It's not too challenging, but there's one attack at the end which surprises the player, telling them "yeah Eggman isn't gonna go down as simply that" but still being forgiving enough that you're unlikely to fail the first boss as a result of the surprise attack.

Seems like top quality first boss content to me.

I always saw it as Eggman's machine was breaking down so the drill flew off. Maybe I might have overreacted a bit.

Ah, speaking of bosses "that weren't even trying", there's the Green Hill Zone boss from Sonic the Hedgehog (GG). It's literally just Eggman in his Eggmobile flying around in a haphazard attempt at crashing into you. He doesn't even try to fly high enough so you can't just jump into him all the time, so you can literally do in all eight hits before he can even attack. As far as I'm concerned, that's the epitome of lousy bosses.

Oh gosh. I just remembered one boss in particular that annoyed me to death.

Dat Toy Kingdom Boss. D:

Everytime I try to fight him I end of falling into one of those pits, even before the fight begins. D: Seriously, WTF Sega.

Any boss battle involving Silver the Hedgehog. (Except the one in the console version of Generations.)

There's some poeticness to it really. On the original Master System version, you can only hit him once he floats down. On Game Gear to make the screen lock for the boss, Eggman must fly lower to be on-screen. The reduced resolution makes it stupidly easy.

Then with Sonic 2 8-bit's first boss, they go and do the exact opposite, where the reduced resolution makes the first boss stupidly hard. D'oh.

I actually liked all the Generations boss battles (except Time Eater) and all the Colours boss battles. I also enjoyed all the Advance 1 to 3 bosses too. Except this thing...

I also found the Chaos 4 battle quite boring, even though I prefer a boss battle where you have a limited amount of time to hit it, while dodging attacks. Probably why I enjoyed the Biolizard so much, and Beta MKII.

I see some people are talking about the first boss battle in the early games, but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the beginning of a game supposed to be easy so it draws you further in? Until your fighting Silver Sonic and the Death Egg Robot with no rings.

Yes, but there's a reason everyone here hates the Doodlebug Mecha in Sonic 2 Game Gear...

Almost all bosses in Colors were unbelievably boring and repetitive both gameplay and design wise.

Almost forgot about Time eater - the worst final boss ever. [I'm talking about the HD version here, didn't play the 3DS one but judging from the videos it looks much better than the HD one.]

Don't like Dark Gaia HD as well. Only the beginning looks good, but the fight itself...Yeah, not so much.

Worst ever? Sorry, but ima have to go with Time Eater as well. Though Solaris is almost as bad, and Chaos 4 is just boring.

Another one I hate is the boss of Death Egg Zone in S3&K. Not the Robotnik mech, that was cool. I mean the one with the spherical body that you can only damage by going into those gravity tubes and making those little spiky things hit his underside. That thing is the definition of tedious.

Oh oh OH. NOW I remembered one I really hate with all my heart. Robot Storm from Heroes. It's literally just wave after wave of robots coming at you in segments, and if you die in one segment (which is likely due to the awkward fighting mechanics) you have to start all over. Most of the Heroes bosses and enemies sucked due to the clunky and monotonous fighting elements. I'm glad they've gone back to one-hit-kill enemies.

Alot of the CD bosses are annoying too. Not really difficult, just boring. Like the conveyor belt one. Metal Sonic was cool though.

I never liked the 2nd Tails vs. Eggman fight in SA2. I love the events corresponding to the fight (Sonic in the capsule), but I hate the fight itself. Such a small arena, and I only dodge that giant laser from Eggman about 25% of the time.

EDIT: Or I just suck at the boss.

The whole final boss section in Unleashed after Eggmanland sucked, besides Egg Dragoon at least. Time Eater also was a shit boss.

I'd say Time Eater was the worst boss very poor (HD one) and Ix from Chronicles follows. I didn't like most of the bosses from Colors either and Silver in 06 (Soleanna Castle Town/Radical train).

The final boss in Sonic CD is just so anticlimactic not to mention ridiculously easy. Its like Sonic caught Robotnik on the toilet because that's what it looks like, a giant flying toilet with four wings attached to it.
Interestingly 'Taxman', the genius who recently gave us that awesome Sonic CD port, programed a new extra final boss but Sega felt the port should not deviate too much from the original game and it was not included.

I want to go with the crowd and say Time Eater's the worst boss, but I'm gonna go with a much earlier one, that everyone think is easy. That's right! The Labyrinth Zone Boss. Not only do you have to keep up with Robotnik, dodge fire and spears, but the water level is constantly rising, so you can't stop moving or you'll drown. Of course, this goes with the difficulty, but it's just plain annoying.

Oh yeah THAT fucker. It's bad enough on the Mega Drive version, but playing it on the GBA Port is a fucking nightmare. The terrible frame rate is your main enemy there, not the spears or the rising water, they're just the minor issues.
