I think the N64 version is just too dated for me to really enjoy at this point, so I'd definitely buy a remake on launch day, just like I did with Ocarina of Time.

You grip the middle prong with your left hand and the right prong with your right, except if you're using the D-Pad, then you grip the left prong with your left hand. Not that hard, since the L/Z buttons are supposed to be interchangeable.. Sadly, there's some third-party games whose developers clearly didn't realize that.(I still don't have a clue how I'm actually supposed to grip the thing).

I played through it recently with the GC controller and really enjoyed it, as opposed to trying it on the N64 and never being able to get over the controller.

End result should look like this. You grip the middle prong with your left hand and the right prong with your right, except if you're using the D-Pad, then you grip the left prong with your left hand. Not that hard, since the L/Z buttons are supposed to be interchangeable.. Sadly, this doesn't work so well for third-party games whose developers clearly didn't realize that.
Not sure what some people find so challenging about it. Right thumb on the face buttons, left on the one with the analog sick. Some people grab it by the left side and I have no idea why. The middle grip is the longest, has the analog stick on it and a trigger in the back. It just screams GRAB ME.
I've seen some people grab the analog stick with their index finger and thumb, placing their right hand over the face buttons like an arcade controller.
But OoT 3D was just supposed to be a prettied up version. If they were gonna make something from scratch they might as well have made a new game. Maybe extra steps in prettying it up would be good, but yeah. the point was to bring the classic to a new generation, so redoing from scratch would miss that.
Plus the Virtual console fixes some of the framerate issues the N64 version had. It runs more consistently. It's totally worth a shot, but you could wait for a remake, I guess. I was thinking about replaying the game myself whether a remake comes out or not.If nothing else there is always the Virtual Console release of Majora's Mask, unless you don't like the Gamecube/Pro controller.

Well, I personally disagree with this design philosophy from the get-go. Prettier graphics don't really warrant a hefty price of $40, and I think the game could have benefited from an extra dungeon or two and an improved combat system akin to Twilight Princess'. I would have bought Star Fox 64 3D (despite already owning the original) if they had added stuff like Capcom did with Megaman Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X, or Atlus with Persona 4 Golden (which, despite being advertised as a port and not a remake, added more content than both 3DS N64 remakes combined). But OoT 3D was just supposed to be a prettied up version. Majora's Mask I'll buy just because the game is more dated than Star Fox 64 and I haven't actually played it yet, but I'd much rather they remake it properly this time, as much as I doubt they will.

I can't understand why some people would prefer a Remake over a NEW GAME. While a remake would be nice, it's not going to really add any new content except for a few tweaks here and there with improved graphics. Also, the 3DS has plenty of remakes and ports right now and one of the remakes on the 3DS is a Zelda game. We should at least get a new Zelda game finally before releasing yet another Zelda remake.
Just like I've said in almost every Zelda post last page, and for future reference
They're making an original 3DS Zelda game next. The remake of either MM or Lttp is coming after the next original 3DS Zelda game.

Because these remakes don't involve the main Zelda team; they are made my second party teams.
So... is that good? Since we can only choose one game, it makes me think that they will be focusing only on that game for a while which will take longer for a new Zelda game to come out on the 3DS.

Basically, higher-ups at Nintendo themselves said they don't feel comfortable releasing two remakes back to back. They feel the 3DS owners deserve more than that and thus will be delivering a new Zelda title before they release a remade Zelda title.
I mean you never know if they'd change their mind, but.

Didn't MM flop in sales back then? I think to many people Majora's Mask would actually be a new experience. I prefer a stand alone new title rather than some alttp "sequel" but honestly it doesn't really matter because the 3DS is definitely going to get a new game eventually anyways. All handheld systems have gotten have gotten at least one, GB got Link's Awakening, GBC got Oracles, GBA got Minish Cap and DS got Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. I think it's not as much an issue of whether we will get a new game or not because we definitely will, but rather which game gets the remake.
MM flopped because it was in the shadow of OOT, which at the time was considered the greatest game ever made. I know from experience that just about every Zelda fan was turned off by the dark atmosphere, time limit, and short length of the "main" storyline. It was just too different from OOT for people.
Also, about the Alttp sequel, you've gotten those already in a sense. OOT is Alttp in 3D, and TP is OOT on modern consoles.

I'm glad they feel that way because we need more than just remakes imo.

MM didn't flop, it was just as well received as Oot (mostly 9/10's) and it sold over 3 Million copies. It's just that Oot sold over 7 million. Alot of people were put off by the 3 days thing and the fact that it came out late in the N64's lifetime attributes to why it didn't sell as much.

I find that interesting since quite A LOT of Zelda fans these days....consider Majora's Mask the best in the series of 3D
games (Cause it is).

MM was made in a year using OOT assets....it may not have sold nearly a much as OOT...but it damn sure pulled in profit.

I see, 3 million I thought it was much less. Well opinions in the Zelda community seem to have a tendency to flip-flop as soon as the next big game comes out. I don't know what they really think anymore.
The newer Zelda fans love it. It's as I said, now that it's out of OOT's shadow, it's starting to get the attention it hadn't gotten those many years ago.
