Please tell me you're not serious. I was actually thinking of buying one, just for the hell of it once I got a fightstick. If it's a hundred bucks for an ACCESSORY? Hahaha, sony/gamestop you so funny.

I just looked it up, granted only at two stores... both were selling it for below that price by a long way.

Although why you'd buy most of it brand new when theres tons of PS3 eye toys going cheap on ebay these days I don't know.

Shit be 50€ brand new with a (terrible) game around these parts and we euros get all the price rapes, so I'm not sure where that amount is coming from.

$99.99

I didn't just pull it out of my ass. I actually looked. Same thing with shitty game, twice the price.

Hm, buying just the controller and the camera separately is like half of that.

But I know how it goes sometimes, seen 5 year old games go for 60€ here in stores. People with common sense will look for alternatives to attain the proper pricing ;P

If I look at the listing you linked to... the cheapest one isn't $100, it's $79.99 and thats without even looking at the second hand section.

Oh my apologies because, 80 dollars is reasonable. Right?

(I already knew about this but, found it irrelevant because, frankly, it is. 80 dollars is still a lot to ask for something you're barely ever going to use.)

$80 roughly works out as being around £45-£50 which lately is the price of a new game.

Playstation Move starter pack if you buy from a typical retailer like Game is £44.99 And you didn't get a game with it (least I don't think you did).

So yes I would say it's quite in line with what they're currently being flogged for at a high street retailer.

The only other one I can find on game is priced at £39.99... and thats because its currently in the Game January sale. And that too comes with no free game.

Although when I got my move, I didn't even go down that road, I managed to find a second hand copy of the game 'the eye of judgement' which comes with a playstation eye, then all I had to get was the wand. Saved a ton of money.

This only shows how the English and the rest of Europe are being taken for a ride. 80 dollars is amazingly steep here, for a peripheral OR game (special editions excluded, those can range from 70-120). That's awful.

No light gun equivalent on the PC?

You can use the WiiMote on a PC if you sync it into a perfectly ordinary BlueTooth sensor with a free piece of software, any ordinary webcam can become an EyeToy equivalent, and then there's always the Razer Hydra - and besides, this game is going to be compatible with perfectly ordinary PS3 joypads; if Sega are prepared to allow the user to degrade the HotD experience to thumbstick levels, we could surely just cut out peripherals altogether on a PC port and just use the mouse as a high-precision solution? Is that not enough?

That sounds like an extremely niche market to me...

Great. I've been waiting for a home release of HotD 4 ever since I first played it and now it's a PS3 exclusive.

Thanks, SEGA.

I find it strange how incosistent the releases for the House of the Dead games are. Not counting Sega All Stars we have (for original releases)

HOTD1: Sega Saturn, arcade and PC
HOTD2: Dreamcast, and Arcade
HOTD3: Xbox and Arcade.
HOTDOK: Wii (original release)
HOTD4: Arcade and PSN.

Boy, It sure has jumped consoles.Sega to Microsoft to Nintendo to Sony. Where ever next?

Dunno, they seem consistent enough from a rational point of view. They be all arcade games first and foremost with a somewhat logical home revision with the exception of Overkill which was an outsourced console entry.

HotD1 and 2's release platforms were SEGA's very own. By the time 3 rolled in, it made little sense to have a Dreamcast port, moreso consideing a Naomi 2 board downport would suffer greatly, so they moved onto the Xbox along with other SEGA Amusement Machine teams.

4 runs on Lindbergh, which lends itself well to PS3/360 conversions, but unlike Afterburner Climax the 360 platform wouldn't have a proper peripheral and I don't think they can afford to sell one just for this niche release. Wii is out of the question, this game has shaders.

And sometimes they flip a coin to decide whether they bother with a PC port.

Got my move gear relatively cheap. When I first heard about the move, I picked up the ps3 eye on amazon for roughly $10. Then Gamestop not too long ago (maybe before xmas) was selling the move controller for about $20 and the navigator for about $15.. Besides HotD, the move is a pretty good investment if you plan on using it past 1 or 2 games

So it says Playstation Move compatible. Does that mean it needs it or it could be used? I don't have Move but would love to play House of the Dead 4.

Six-axis is all you need, though I kind of want a move, then again I'm so used to playing 2 and 3 using a normal gamepad. So it's no biggie for me.
