-------------------------------

Hello, all of SSMB. =D Since for the past month or so we've been racing each other using the online multiplayer function on the game, Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS. Since everyone has been loving it so far, I have had an idea to hold Mario Kart 7 tournaments every weekend, and Monday and Tuesday. The tournament begins at 7:15 PM EST those days. Registration will last until March 9, so there is plenty of time to enter!

For us to have easy contact on the 3DS, add and trade friend codes. We will use the SSMB community, which JezMM had created, and will be used for the tournaments. 1 tournament consists of five matches, which is 4 races for each match. Whoever wins gets the tournament that day will get a variety of prizes that will be mentioned later here.

If you do not have a 3DS, or the game, Mario Kart 7, you cannot participate in the tournaments.

THE RULES

1. Race fair.

2. NO Action Replay or hacking of any sort.

3. Do not brag or boast if you win, it only brings down people's confidence and morale, everyone here is a winner. You may mean it as a joke though.

4. Do not choose the same stage over and over to annoy people.

5. HAVE FUN RACING!

-----------

PRIZES

1st PLACE: Get a gold MK7 badge as an award

2nd PLACE: Get a silver MK7 badge as an award.

3rd PLACE: Get a bronze MK7 badge.

4th PLACE: MK7 Tournament Racer Badge.

5th PLACE: MK7 Tournament Racer Badge.

Others: MK7 Tournament Racer Badge.

Skill Badges:

Golden Bullet: Win 1st place in at least 3 tournaments.

Silver Sneaker: Win 2nd place in at least 3 tournaments.

Bronze Booster: Win 3rd place in most (3) tournaments.

(Badges have not been approved yet, and are still conceptual.)

------------------

SSMB COMMUNITY CODE: 64-8368-2641-3135

MY 3DS FC: 0817-3759-4156

HOST:

Dr. Felix (Meeee. =U)

The tournament will work like a survival island sort of thing, the best racers race and race, and make it to the semi-finals, the finals, and whoever wins is the winner of the tournament.

Main matches: 4-5 weeks

Judging matches: 1 week

Semi-finals: 1-2 weeks

Finals: 2 days

--------------------

That's all! HAVE FUN RACING~!

About rule #4: Stages should just be picked at random. Or all participants agree to play a cup as designed by the game. And uh... I didn't say I'd be a judge o.O

Not all of those badges seem really necessary either. There's no need for more than four. Gold, silver, broze and participant. Have you asked one of the mods to go about adding these?

I can replace you with someone else if you wish. I haven't asked the mods for approval yet, I will soon though.

Rules two and three also seem a bit unnecessary, considering that I don't think there is actually is any hacks or action replays available for the 3DS available right now, and that the people here are generally friendly enough, and everyone understands that any boasting is usually meant in good humour. Rule five is kinda redundant too when you have the cover of rule one. You just need to make it clear that that's considered unfair play.

Also when did I sign up to be a judge? I just recall making a little joke about winning is all. :V

Well, hey. Things happen. People toy with things and then exploit it. :U Thought I'd make you a judge, cause' of how excited you were for the tournament, you'd make a reasonable judge also. Edited by Dr. Felix

Uhh... what do judges do exactly? This is the first I have heard of this like, whatsoever - did you just decide to do this yourself? Because that would most definitely make it "unofficial". Lol.

7:30 also seems a bit late... that's half past midnight in UK terms, and on weekdays that'll be too late. Some of us do have lives.

Not me of course, half midnight is fine, but some of us.

I can set the time back an hour our two. Judges basically keep track of who wins and loses, and stuff. The judges also keep track of the points people gained in each race during the tournament.

It really depends on when it's done. I see no problem with mid afternoon to early evening for weekends, out of respect for our Brit pals but, they can't be expected to participate during the weekdays.

Yeah, honestly I don't think we need as many tournaments a week as this. One during the week and one during the weekend would probably be fine.

I mean I sure as hell won't want to play 6 days a week for... well, however long you plan to do these for.

In this case, I think you can safely say there won't be any use of AR or hacking. It's simply not possible with the 3DS yet, and nobody on here would be stupid enough to bother trying.

About the whole judges thing... there's really no need. Imagine there's 16 people wanting to play a tournament. You break them off into two parties of 8 (might be best to set up alternate communities for each). Each group partakes in a single cup, and the four highest-ranking racers from each cup join for the semi-finals. They then battle it out in another cup. and the four highest-ranking racers from this round proceed to the finals. Now instead of doing random stage choices this time, everyone gets to choose their own stage. And form there you can dictate the winner pretty easily. A formula like that or a spin on it sounds much more straight-forward and approachable than what you've currently come up with.

OK, I will remove the judges.

I'll be up for it. One question though, is there only one tournment race one day or are there many in one day?

There is 5 races during the tournament days. There is only 1 tournament a day, and there is 5 races during those days.
