Poor SEGA always having the game leaked.

File size? Dunno. I'm going to assume it's 6 gigabytes like it says, though, which would definitely explain the lack of Wii Ware.

And... yes.

This is the full game.

Will post my impressions later.

I was the source on Twitter. A friend of mine downloaded and was apparently playing the game. I shared a Steam screenshot with his username between mutual friends and that was what I did not want redistributed - I have since removed it as the people involved have seen. I have downloaded the game myself and yes, it runs. I have reported the matter to SEGA already and will not be playing the game further than to see if it works, which it does. Poor SEGA...

I see. I will check, once it's done, but I will try and restrain myself from playing further.
(though it seems to be the beta... huh)

....Are you serious Sega, AGAIN?

EDIT: Ok, I just looked at Steam, and it said the game wasn't going to unlock till its released date.

Oh, well sorry for saying you're an idiot :X I should've known the details before saying anything.

Just like PartnerNET, it's not really SEGA's fault, though, is it? It's the people who run Steam's fault. But then, I don't know the first thing about Steam...

About to play it. Can they kill this for people who have it downloaded already?

The worst I can honestly see them doing is disabling playing privileges for those who bought it until the release date. It'd be ridiculous if they suspended users or anything similar for something that's frankly their own fault.

Downloaded.
Not playing.

I'd rather avoid risking getting banned or becoming an enemy of SEGA's. Particularly the latter-wouldn't want to somehow damage Wreck's reputation with SEGA.

I wonder if SEGA will bump up the release date of the game now since it looks like a lot of people are about to being playing it. This is actually way worse than PartnerNET.

Played Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1 and the Special Stage. I don't have much time as I need to get to work real soon.

Impressions.

Visuals: Incredible. Nothing more to say. Blows Episode 1 AND New Super Mario Bros right out of the water.
Gameplay: Pretty good. A big step up from Episode 1. Physics are better, but the level design is only marginally better. This will be a big deciding factor for some. It's still better than E1, but I've only played one act.
Music: They re-did the title theme. It's the same melody, but the instruments used are certainly more Genesis-y. The music definitely sounds better, and the Special Stage music was boppin' and fun!

So actually, Act 1 didn't open up at all like you would expect. I was treated with a cutscene of Sonic and Tails on the classic Tornado flying right into Sylvania Castle, and then they jumped out and landed right into the level. It is very much like the opening to Sonic 3, only minus Super Sonic and Knuckles' meddling.

My experience was actually enjoyable. I chuckled at some of the little things in here: Tails stole my air-bubble causing me to laugh as if I were playing Sonic 2 again. Also, the 69 Combo Roll isn't available off the bat apparently, as I could only do the mid-air flight. By the way, that has a ridiculously short flight span. You certainly can't abuse it. Haven't tried the Submarine Combo with a side of chips and soda, though.

Also, the Special Stage seems like a mix between Rush's and Sonic 2's. Actually, the mines don't make you lose rings, at least not in the first one. They slow you down. Apparently time is a factor, but I was so good at it that I didn't notice much of a difference.

So yeah. Definitely a good morning! Will play some more later today and I'll let you know how it goes. Gotta get to work...!

Multiplayer impressions:

My bro and I played the first stage. Rolling physics are still screwed, but it's really neat. The camera pans for both Sonic OR Tails, meaning that Sonic's leadership position isn't as big as it was in the other games.

Tails swims indefinitely underwater and is controlled with the D-Pad. Button presses make him go faster.

Either character can activate a combination move.

Tails CAN fly without Sonic. He descends quickly but his flight time is pretty long.

If Sonic and Tails get separated from each other, they'll go into a ball and hover behind the other like in the Colors Sonic Simulator stages.

Getting banned for downloading a game steam put up?

Been instructed to play it by Wrecks for an article. Possibly. Waiting for a reply on whether to play it.

I say go for it since you have actually paid for it and its not your fault that it was leaked so you are not in the wrong if you play it.

I should note that I didn't get the opening cutscene Indigo spoke of when I picked the local co op option.

Anyway I think I'm gonna play the whole game. FUCK THE POLICE.
