Tails spin-jump ability has always bothered me. Its nice that he can mimic his idol, but without the spines Sonic has, how in the world is that 10 pound fluff ball supposed to shear its way through badniks? He shouldn't be able to jump on top of a motobug and cleave it in two. I could believe Knuckles ability to do so well enough (at least he has dreads and he is an Echidna) but Tails should bounce off harmlessly.

I never try to put too much thought into it... but every now and then the idea creeps up while I'm playing Sonic 2.

Which animators/developers thought Sonic, Tails, or Amy's 'victory' animations in SA1 made any sense?

Sonic and Tails' victory animations are awesome, even though in hindsight, I have no idea what it is they're actually doing.

No doubt they look like cool poses, but yeah, it's up to debate just what they're doing.

Also about the mouth movements.. I remember when I was younger and my friend tried to "prove" to me that Mario was better than Sonic (back in the console war days). He shown me how Sonic's mouth moved in SA1 and then said that Mario was "better because he didn't make as stupid of faces when talking". Too bad he didn't realize that around that point in time, Mario almost never talked, and when he did his mouth didn't move. =p

The fact that Eggman has a whole load of toilets on the Egg Carrier and yet no living crew to actually use them.

Is he a toilet fetishist or something? Seriously.

There's also the fact that he can actually be heard on the intercom in Sky Deck giving orders to non-existent crew "Descending into the clouds, slow the ship down". You can see command areas around Sky Deck yet not a robot or human in sight to staff them.

Makes you wonder if Eggman is so lonely he hallucinates the crew on his Egg Carrier and takes a sense of authority from dishing them orders despite no-one being there to take them. And he builds facilities for them.

Speaking of Eggman, I was....seriously weirded-out by his level 3 attack in the first Sonic Riders. Sleep-inducing flatulence? Fridge Brilliance in Colours when Sonic remarks on how gassy Eggman is XD

"Well he is pretty gassy. Maybe the smell would knock them out?"

Also, going by the characters other than you cheering on rival Chao in the Chao Race in Sonic Adventure, does that actually mean that they own Chao and like racing them as well as cheering them on to do better when they're not off saving the world? Slightly unsettling thought that Gamma cheers on his racing Chao yet is destroyed later on. That poor ownerless Chao :'(

I've never fully understood why people (jokingly or otherwise) are frightened by the Tails Doll.
Either way its pretty pathetic.

Does Hatsun the Pigeon count as a strange thing? I mean, it's just there to say "coo" and you never see it again.

Robotnik saving Sonic from drowning and being burnt alive in the lava just before the first boss of Sonic 2 game gear. Does Robotnik like being defeated by Sonic?

When Unleashed puts up invisible walls to stop you from backtracking, if you run into them they've got a ripply effect. Considering there's rarely any reason to go backwards, and that it only draws unnecessary attention to something that's kind of nonsensical and "gamey", I can't imagine why they added it.

The choice to go with a mute classic Sonic, maybe to not have angry fans over voice actor choice, and they were lucky enough to not really have a need to give him dialogue in the game, but he did talk in Sonic CD... even if it was the cute little "yeah!" whenever he jumped on a bouncy thing.

Nah, he just wants to be the one to bump off Sonic. He's that much of an egotist, after all.

Anyway, one of the stranger things I've found in a Sonic game is the option to have Sonic... "rap" with Def Big in a sidequest in Sonic Unleashed. Perhaps it's a bit more low-key than most of the examples presented here, but really, now... Sonic the Hedgehog? Rapping?

As discussed in another topic, Eggman isn't that kind of villian. He is so passionate about Sonic's defeat that I doubt he would accept it to be from anything other than his own hand. Sonic doesn't deserve to just die in a lava pit. He deserves to be humiliated by being bonked on the head with a rock while running from Eggman's wonderful new doodlebug mecha.

Huh, I don't recall ever seeing this. Sonic Colours on the flipside annoyed me by doing this ALL THE TIME when I was searching for Red Rings.

A lot of Sonic's answers to NPC questions in Unleashed were genuinely funny or eye-raising.

EF-XB2006 in EggmanLand's hub will ask Sonic questions in order to 'perfect' his reasoning as he's new. Now, aside from the weird factor of Sonic willingly interacting with a robot programmed to maim and/or kill him, one of his possible answers to EF-XB2006's admittance that he ate his pudding is "I DEMAND AN APOLOGY!"

XD!!!

I also giggled at one of Iman's questions in Shamar's hub - "How would you hold an expensive glass?"

Sonic can answer with; "With one hand", "With two hands" or "I wouldn't"

Sonic must think he's a clumsy klutz if he canonically answers with the last answer.

Anyways, I've always thought that the EXP value that Sonic gets from eating food in Unleashed is not just from it's nutritional value (Which sensically provides the 'nutrients' required for Sonic to grow stronger and/or faster when levelling-up) but from it's tastiness value to Sonic. Going by this logic, Fish, Seafood (Such as Smoked Mohn, Live Honker and Molsk), mouldy/rancid and EggmanLand foods are absolutely detested by Sonic but he'll eat them anyway whilst Chili Dogs, Fast Food such as Fried Chicken and Big G Steak and the Hero Sandwich are adored by Sonic.

What's weird here though is that Sonic seems to absolutely love Dureek's. Just one provides a whopping 50 EXP! That's second only to the Chili Dogs you win from the missions from the Hot Dog Vendors and is only rivalled by the Hero Sandwich which also gives 50 EXP. The weird thing? Dureek's are obviously a Sonic-ized version of the real world Durian.. And if you know what a Durian is like....well, it proves that Sonic has some very weird tastes...

Perhaps stranger though is the fact that you can feed Sonic the Sandwich? food item (Which is obviously mouldy and rancid) from Wentos as well as the Canned Horror. That poor poor Hedgehog.
