I have way too many, but let's just say that I like every soundtrack from the series except for Sonic Chronicles. XD

I like a lot of songs dunno guys I don't think I can choose between any I love all soundtracks from the series Sonic music never fails except for Chronicles (I did like the Battle music but the rest of the tracks were disappointing especially the remixes to Sonic 3 and Sonic 3D Blast oh my GOD they were the worst! o_o but some were okay I guess). I'll just say some of my favourites are Live and Learn, Live Life (BK), Can You Feel The Sunshine (SR) and Endless Possibilities I love all the themes and songs from nearly every Sonic game.

There are alot of Sonic songs I like. It's impossible for me to pinpoint my favourite but I can say the best soundtrack from the games for me is Sonic 06. Don't get me wrong 06 wasn't the greatest game, far from that, but it's soundtrack is absolutely beautiful. With other Sonic games there's a handful of songs I either don't like or just average, but if there's anything 06 gets right is the almost the entire soundtrack is pure brilliance (except for All Hail Shadow, but that's just the Shadow hating part of my mind speaking). It's hard to say my favourite from the game, but recently I've been listening to Dusty Desert - The Ruins alot, absolutely amazing track.

Easy.

Classic Era:
1. Green Hill Zone: The song that started it all.

2. Casino Night Zone: It just really gives you that Vegas feel. And the generations mix is even better.

3. S&K Death Egg Robo: This was a song that told you that shit just got real and now there is no room for error.

4.Palmtree Panic Japanese: Perfectly captured the mood of a tropical setting. Even mor than the American version.

Dreamcast Era:

1. Live and Learn: A crush 40 classic and possibly the most well known sonic song right next to green hill.

2. City Escape: Simply for being awesome

3.Egg Viper: GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!

4.Ocean Palace: like city escape, simply for being awesome.

5. Casino Park: Really captured the feel of a casino even more that Casino Night did IMO.


Modern Era:

1. Crisis City: As many of us know, possibly the only thing 06 got right was the music. And the best track in my opinion is crisis city. It just really captured that feel of urgency and really fit the vibe that a post apocalyptic city would give off.

2. Chu nan hub day: This song is by far my favorite in unleashed and it flawlessly captured the essence of china.

3. Nega Wisp phase 2: Possibly the best boss theme the series has to offer.

4. Rooftop Run Classic: I was originally mad that this stage was representing unleashed in generations. But all that anger went away when I heard this song.

My favorite song from a Sonic game is "Be Cool, Be Wild and Be Groovy" from Sonic Adventure.
You know, the one that plays during the snowboarding section at Ice Cap Zone.



I recently developed some interest in the song after earing it so many times during Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing.
I don't know why but it's probably thanks to the music hedgy and radical rhythm/beat.

"With me" from Sonic and the black knight.

I love this song, the lyrics represent exactly the battle between Sonic and Merlina. All that sorrow, anger and little ego that Merlina has is translated into this song. I would like to see more final battle songs like this one. I'm not saying the orchestral musics aren't but they don't have the same soul has this one, or "open your heart" or "live and learn".

Topic wise: Open your heart and E.G.G.M.A.N. are my favorite songs. Why you ask? EGGMAN is just pure epic-ness at it's best. The lyrics are great and the vocals really put me in the eggy mood. And come on, this should be the song you hear when you see eggy, that that other crap that pops up now. Open your heart is well it's just amazing in sooo many ways. It's by far my favorite C40 song (sad thing is I don't like most of their other stuff), DAT GUITAR and even the lyrics are just sex. Plus it helped me unlock something I locked away a year ago.

Sonic CD Stardust Speedway Past: enough bass to blow up your speakers, record scratching noises and funky rhythm guitar get me out my gaming chair and on my feet, that sax, melancholy and foreboding keyboard makes me nervous and tense for a moment (must save Little Planet) and the vocals are hilarious 'UUUEHA, UUE-UUE-UUUEHA.'

Seriously. If I had someone "normal" listen to these songs, they would probably agree these are amazing, then I would tell them they are from Sonic The Hedgehog, and would most likely become incredibly biased and say they sound terrible...

First and foremost, I like techno music, but not really in favour of rock music, so my taste in music really affects which Sonic songs I love.
I also like songs that are enchanting, mysterious and gives me a sense of impending doom.

Sonic 1 - Marble Zone
Sonic 2 - Aquatic Ruin Zone, Chemical Planr Zone
Sonic 3 - Angel Island Act 2, Hydrocity Zone Act 2
Sonic and Knuckles - ?? Not sure
Sonic Adventure - Windy Valley (Windy Hill)
Sonic Adventure 2 - Pyramid Cave. Pumpkin Hill and Final Rush are nice too.
Sonic Heroes - Mystic Mansion. It's mysterious and techno-like!
Shadow the Hedgehog - Gun Fortress, Black Comet
Sonic 06 - Kingdom Valley, End Of The World, Crisis City...actually, I like all the songs in this game.
Sonic Unleashed - Dragon Road day & night, Cool Edge night, Rooftop Run day & night, Jungle Joyride day & night
Sonic and the Black Knight - Deep Woods (it's the most enchanting song I've ever heard in a Sonic game), and Shrouded Forest
Sonic Colors - I love all the songs!
Sonic Rush - Wrapped In Black (i love the instruments, not so much of the singing). Others I like are Jeh Jeh Rocket (both versions) and Vela Nova.
Sonic Rush Adventure - Haunted Ship. Like Mystic Mansion, it sounds mysterious and techno-ish.
Sonic Generations - Crisis City Act 1. I love what the composers did to make it sound techno-ish. i love the other songs too.

My favourite theme song? - Dreams Of An Absolution. You know I love techno songs

Even after all these years, "Open Your Heart" still holds strong as my #1 Sonic song. It still just kicks so much ass. I just played it in my car the other day on my way to work. I was tired and feeling kind of down going in that day, and that song just woke me up and got me going for (most of LOL) the rest of the day. It still also has my favorite lyric EVER:

"You and I are the same in the way that
we have our own style that we wont change.
Your's is filled with evil and mine's not
There is no way I can lose!"

That and the guitar solo still rocks. And the iconic drill sound guitar riffs and Johnny Gioeli's "Yeah~!" at the end just end it perfectly. It's everything that is SONIC from beginning to end.

I just love it.
