Improvements that can be made to Episode 2 or Episode 3 in the future.

This is also the opposite thread for the Positive thread, so think of it also as: Negative things in Episode 2 you're bummed out about and wish to improve? Or as A Match in Oil Ocean Zone said: "BASH THIS PIECE OF SHIT"
So what do you wanna improve in Episode 2?
Graphics?
Level Design?
PHYSICS?
UNCURLING?
KEN BALOUGH'S MUSTACHE?
Discuss and hope this clears up the tension made.
also the eggplant wizard gets the credit because he thought about it
and you are all awesome

In all seriousness, music with instruments would be nice.

First starters, more Open world-ed (which seems like it may be in White Park) exploration levels, and act transitions by making everything seem like one big world rather then an act 1, act 2, act 3, and so on.
This is called Sonic 4, not Generic 2D Sonic with Classic Elements Incorporated. This is a sequel, make it seem like one. Add new things, stop taking from the classics. We have no nostalgia for seeing something that you guys plus Sonic Team have shoved in our faces for over two years.
Stop-200-With-400-The-800-Fucking-1600-Bubble Chains!
Why is Tails limited to co-op? No seriously, why? In recent interviews, Ken says he isn't playable because of certain abilities Sonic contain and the way the level design attributes to Co-Op. Well then, why not make the level design not based around the boos-rolling combo and flight. Speaking of which, don't give us that bullshit, we know what you mean by "certain abilities" aka Homing Attack for bubbles chains. Psst, Dimps guess what?
HE CAN FLY
Make him fly over what needs to be abridged by the homing attack. You don't need to re-calibrate anything. Because of the Co-Op forced level design? Well make it like Sonic Advance 3 and let us switch who's the leader a la Mario and Luigi SuperStar Saga. Don't give us this "Well the level design and abilities-" We're Sonic fans, we've been through this shit before. Just telling us Dimps was too lazy/forgot to implement Tails alone in and stop with these fraudulent excuses.
And hey. where's the elemental shields? Or better yet, where's the new items? Sonic 3&K had three new items, so where's the new ones for this game? Or is this just a 2D Sonic taking from the classics but using the name Sonic 4? I forgot, you guys do love to switch around your story alot.
Physics I do not expect to be 1:1 ratio, but here's a thought, why not do the physics first, try to make them like the classics, THEN do the level design so as to not seem incompetent.
And lay off the god damn Springs and Boosters. This is a Sonic game, Sonic already runs fast, we already have a "boost" for this game. Stop trying to make us feel exhilarated even more by making us watch the game, rather then play it.
And hey, how about that music? Loving those bad synths and "retro" music that sounds like cats dying of cancer. It's improved over Episode 1, but when I go back to listen to real retro music like Flying Battery Zone, or listen to modern tracks like Modern Stardust Speedway, there is no excuse for this polished turd that you shove into my ears that dares to bear the name "music".
And that's all my problems with Sonic 4 Episode 2 (for now). I look forward to the game, but these problems will surely suck away the ton of fun I like having with Sonic games.

And if I may add one more thing to the list:
Get a better fucking advertising campaign. After Episode 1 failed to be even remotely mediocre by the standards that were set by its advertising campaign, you'd think that they wouldn't treat Episode 2 as the coming of Christ unless they really felt it would fix the issues the original had. Making big, hearty promises and following up with slow trickles of "information" (concept art, logo, etc.) is not how you competently advertise something, especially when the odds are set against it from the start. And yet, that's what they did; constantly promising that they had listened to us and made Episode 2 exactly what Episode 1 should have been while showing nothing to stand for such claims.
And the kicker? When we found out the whole "we listened to you guys and this is going to be exactly what you wanted" was a blatant fucking lie, they turn around and tell me that it's my fault for expecting a quality gaming experience on a downloadable title.
Fuck you too, SEGA. Fuck you too.

When did they say this, exactly? When we found out the whole "we listened to you guys and this is going to be exactly what you wanted" was a blatant fucking lie, they turn around and tell me that it's my fault for expecting a quality gaming experience on a downloadable title.
Honestly whenever I read posts that are presented in this way it comes off as being uncivilized and childish. Can people criticize something without saying "THE PHYSICS ARE SHIT," or the "MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE DYING CATS" please? I know they're exaggerating and it's a meme around here, but likening music from a video game to the sound a house pet makes in its death rattle makes people seem like extremist nutbars that take too much joy out of tearing something apart. This isn't even specifically directed at you, but at everyone. I mean, posts like this, combined with the ones that say unreal things like "this game is ORGASMIC" or "HOLY SHIT BEST GAME EVER" make me wonder if the Sonic community is bipolar or something.
But yes, I'd love to see the music changed- particularly the instruments. They should still be composed in the same style as the Genesis music, using longer, slower and drawn out notes that get stuck in your head, but ditch the weird synth and unnecessary Genesis drums.
I don't have much else to add that other people haven't said already. I would want to see better bosses though. They didn't take enough hits in Epiosde 1, and they were all really boring with easy patterns.
And speaking of difficulty, I kind of liked how in the classics Sonic lost all his rings when he was hit, but could ONLY re-collect 20 of them. It was probably based on hardware limitations at the time, but it actually made the game a bit more challenging.

But in all seriousness, I can't really base this off anything since SONIC TEAM WON'T RELEASE SUBSTANTIAL FOOTAGE *cough*, but I do hope elemental shields make a return. they were in Generations, so there is absolutely no excuse to not have them in Sonic 4.

All I can say is pretty much what everyone else has said in terms of playable characters and their marketing for the game.
