BLOWS MY MIND. Not that fact that it's obviously not coming to the NES and is Google's April Fools joke this year (LOL), but that you can legitimately look at our world in 8-bit! Seeing an overworld of the quest I made from Washington state to the middle of Canada is probably one of the greatest things I've done <3.

You can click that link, or just hit the "Quest" thing there on the right side of regular Google Maps and get ready to be amazed. What do you guys think of this?

Google may get its fair share of flack for whatever, but I can't help but love the amount of fun its employees have with their jobs. This is a really neat little feature and the small touches like sprites of landmarks are great. As always, it's a shame it's temporary.
I'm hoping it will be forever accessible via a link in the same way Google's Pacman logo can still be played.

I also noticed in the video at 1:46 that's a Nazca Ship from Shining Force II.

Weirdly my hometown has a castle icon but where I live currently, Melbourne, capital of my state, usually doesn't, despite being 100x bigger. bahahah.Yay, my town is big enough to be an RPG town sprite! (though it is one of the biggest cities on the west coast of the USA and biggest city in Oregon).

This is pretty freakin cool. I love it. Does anyone know if the "hidden monsters" bit is true? I've been fooling around looking for easter eggs but I got nothing :L

I found one hiding in South Jersey. I had to zoom in pretty close to see it though.
