I'm being entitled when I complain that the cast is going to waste and the storytelling of the games have problems as a result of their current direction? Praytell, how am I not complaining about the games' merits when I say, "Hey, these dropped plotlines and random instances that aren't explained aren't all that good for storytelling; you should write better" or "You're not utilizing your cast to the best of its potential"?

These happen to be things I don't like, true, but they're also complaints based upon the actual qualities of the games as they're presented to me. So really, what meaningful difference is there in someone complaining about something they dislike being in a game versus someone complaining about something in a game being hogwash? These two scenarios are the exact same. :|

There's a distinct difference in what you said, which are valid complaints that are detailed out compared to "Oh this story sucks, Adventure 2 was so much better" "They should just make another Adventure game, I'm tired of this crap" or "Sega just don't care anymore and should be replaced" that just comes off as straight up whining out of self entitlement issues, Like I said your complaints are viable, its just the way people voice their complaints just makes them seem like a bunch of whiny brats who are upset because they didn't get the toy they wanted for Christmas.

The detail expressed in one's opinion isn't a meaningful difference between undue entitlement and criticism; all it means is that some people are better at expressing their grievances than others.

But ultimately, everyone here as customers feel entitled to a satisfactory experience; that's natural when you're shelling out money for something- you want that product to benefit you, which means including features you naturally like. Furthermore, complaining about something you don't want is the very basis of negative commentary we see during a games' news cycle. When no one has played the bugger for themselves, no one can truthfully comment on how the game will hold up technically beyond using their own biases, opinions, and past experiences as a reference point for predicting how the game will turn out. I mean honestly, how else is someone supposed to react to a news article of upcoming games they deem negative?

Basically, I think your comments are mean-spirited and untrue. If Sega were catering to people who are unhappy, the people who are currently fine with this new direction would be acting the same way. But in my biased little mind, I doubt you could easily get away with calling someone who doesn't like a lot of charcters, relevant stories, and modern gameplay- or even the people who expect more from Sonic 4 Episode 2- whiny little brats who didn't get their toys.

I don't understand why they say that Sega doesn't care when they do. It comes off as whiny cause they don't makes the games exactly your way.

Till then, I'm just waiting for the next 3D game to see if they're really going to continue the 2D/3D gameplay.

UGH! More 2D/3D gameplay, hoping they are done with that, it was bad enough city escape was covered in 2D but if that is sega going with, ok then, show us what you got sega!

Sega needs to make more spin-off games, look at mario, he has series of spin-off games, sonic's spin-off games are only the Riders series, sega all stars series, mario and sonic olympic series (which needs to stop! lol). Making more spin-off games will look better for the hedgehog. well that what i think Posted Image

And some multiplayer action in the main titles like sonic v.s shadow. That would cool

Wait a minute! no more time travel? Is silver going to be in future games? unless silver is in sonic's time but i'd like the three hedghogs together as a team again or maybe add a new hedgehog Posted Image
NAW! Too many hedgehogs already

i don't know why but i kinda wish the chaos emeralds were more involved in the stories.

Sorry if it i annoy some of you guys, im full of ideas!

knuckles needs to be more involved in stories, Knuckles is a funny guy

Im guessing when they mention "less fantasy" im guessing no more secret rings and black knight type of gameplay. (YES!)

i wonder if there gonna make a character that is involved with the story, like chip, Yacker, and Elise. i recommend sega making one, just don't make the character annoying, lol.

^Triple post much?

Anyway, I'm not really big on more 2D/3D mash-up gameplay. The Unleashed style is so formulaic and restricting that I don't see how you can add much to it. No matter what they add it all comes down to reflexes and memorization- which is fun for time trials and whatnot, but it's getting stale. Plus, the engine is so damn exploitable, and they're making levels and sets on such a huge scale that I don't even know how they're supposed to go about giving them a proper bug-test.

And while I like the idea of making Sonic a bigger focus and cutting the embarassingly large cast of mostly bad characters down, I'd like to be able to play as more than just Sonic once in a while.

I want a full 3D game with a small cast of playable characters other than Sonic and Tails relevent to an engaging story. No extra long heated paragraph, that's all I freaking want, that's it.

You know, as much as I adore Unleashed, Colors and Generations... I would be so pleased with this. Then again, I'll try anything as long as it's fun and engaging.

Considering sega has done quite a bit of research on the fans for a few years now I would be pretty shocked if there response to continuing the solo sonic gameplay(if true) is something like "Well fans seem to like sonic and the character more than the others and they seem fine with the direction the series is going."

Honestly I can't say I'm fine with the direction the series is going. Granted we're getting decent games, however it's at the expense of things we've liked and had for the past decade, playable characters and an engaging story, heck it doesn't even have to be deep, just give me a sense of urgency, make me want to beat it like in SA1 and 2.

They seem to be sweeping things that they're doing wrong under the rug:

1. "Instead of improving other character's gameplay, heck just take them out!"
2. "Uh oh, we can't make an engaging story without Monster of the Week or doom and gloom, take it out and add an oversaturation of slapstick humor! Baldy NoseNuts you say?"
3 "Uh oh, we can't make a full 3D game without using 2D as a crutch, make the game 70% 2D!"

I don't know, I like my Sonic, but if I don't like what I'm seeing I'm not just gonna keep throwing my cash at them, heck I still haven't bought Episode 1.

I just read this as "more good games", I'm not really all that bothered by the news...... If it is true that is.

And yeah, there's always room for improvement but I'm not sweating at the continuation of a fun and consistent type of gameplay that I actually happened to like, unlike a good number of people here apparently :/
