Pottermore is sort of the official encyclopedia Rowling told us about. You can go through the books and explore certain sections. There's a ton of new information by Rowling for it, so that's interesting for any Potter fan. There's also a wand selection and you can get sorted into houses! At the moment only book 1 is open, but you can still earn hundreds of thousands of house points.

Here are my details:

Name: PumpkinCentaur6813
Pet: Brown Owl
Wand: Vine with pheonix feather core, eleven and three quarter inches, slightly yielding
House: Ravenclaw

So if any of you join, be sure to add me!

I was on Pottermore when it was still in beta and I got bored with it really fast but I might go back on now that it's open to the public, so hopefully there will be more going on.

I am: PurpleScale180, Slytherin, my wand is a pear 10 3/4 inch, surprisingly swishy, with unicorn core. My pet is a black cat.

I still resent not being able to choose my own username.

Pottermore's pretty neat. The new stuff from Rowling is super interesting and I cannot possibly get over how much I absolutely adore the artwork. It's really beautiful stuff. Other than that though there's not exactly much to do. Got a wand, got sorted, that's fun, but with only one book right now I don't see myself going back much once I finish it. Also, fuck usernames.

Name: SkyAuror8966
Pet: Barn owl (Like no one picks these, what the hell, barn owls are the best)
Wand: Sycamore with phoenix feather core, 13 inches and slightly springy.
House: Hufflepuff

I was really ready to kill myself when I got into Hufflepuff because like the rest of the world I thought it was the reject class. It's pretty terrible because Hufflepuff is the most well-rounded and friendly and fits me well now that I've read about them, but people still think it's crap just because only one major character in the story came from it.

Fuck yellow though, worst color ever. Hufflepuff pride!

I decided to check it out as well

Name: WolfFloo831
Wand: Elm with phoenix feather core, 12 1/2 inches and pliant.
Pet: Screech Owl
House: Hufflepuff

Oh hey, me and noire are in the same house! Now we can get into all sorts of hijinks Posted Image

I love the Potter books (getting my start in elementary school, I think I've read all the books at least five times each now), as well as the first and last two movies.

This though... Eh. I made an account yesterday because I wanted to get sorted (got into Slytherin), and ditched it the moment I finished the quiz. I liked how it chose your wand/house, but everything else was just really dull. I've forgotten my username because fuck those things, so I probably won't ever use it again.

I'd like another book (not a Potter book) by J.K. Rowling, or some other Potter media that's actually interesting. I think an animated TV show would be pretty cool, for instance.

My sister, who got into Harry Potter recently, made an account and has been playing with it for days.

Me, I rather I'd read the books or watch the movies (I've only seen the first one so far) before I make an account.

I tried signing up, but for some reason, even after resetting my password, it keeps giving me an error saying that the password and/or username was not recognized.

EDIT: Never mind, just made a new account, and that worked.

Name: PatronusSilver1016
Wand: Hazel with Unicorn core, 13 1/4 inches and hard
Pet: Owl, don't remember which kind. It was the one in the bottom-left corner
House: Hufflepuff

Poo, I really wanted Ravenclaw. I've always felt like that would be the one I'd truly belong in. Then again, if we're talking about 11-year old me...hmmm. I guess Hufflepuff might have made sense back then. I was rather dissapointed with the Sorting quiz, to be honest. You can find a ton of Sorting Hat quizzes all over the web, and most of them suck. If you're not going to analyze a person's personality, what's the point? What kind of relevance does "Dawn or Dusk?" have on what houses we belong to? I just hate that this 'official' quiz falls into such a common pitfall.

I don't hate Hufflepuff or anything, I'll certainly get over it.

It did analyze your personality. Asking whether you like dawn or dusk more is part of your personality. Hell, I thought this one was good, it's not like those shitty fanmade ones with questions like

Your friend gets hexed in the great hall. What do you do?
1. You stand up for him
2. You run away
3. You calmly analyze the situation and solve it
4. What do you mean? I'M the one who hexed him!

Name: StarEcho14788
Wand: Rowan with Phoenix tail, 13 inches
Pet: Barn Owl
House: Hufflepuff

I've already added you people.

Yeah, at least it wasn't completely transparent. Even worse are the one's that ask you what your favorite color is, or what your favorite Bertie Bott's flavor is. Questions can't get much more irrelevant than that.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Sorting Hat questions too. They really weren't what I expected.

Name: MoonMahogany6479
House: Slytherin (.....Waaaat?! WAAAATT?!?!) Lol even after reading the hilarious welcoming message I felt a little empty when I saw Slytherin. I really didn't think I would be it. Well, I am ambitious, I certainly cannot deny.
Wand: Beech with dragon core, 12 and 3/4 inches, unbending.
Pet: Genger Cat.

Yeah I kind of went mainly for the sorting, I'll go on it again later but I'm too busy. Man... I can't believe it, lol. It is a little boring, but I haven't experimented with the potions and the dueling, and I'm pretty sure that's fun. Over the summer I'm planning on actually reading the book as I go along with the website.

The questions for the wand and the houses are also really good, I'm so glad it wasn't obvious, it made everything all the more surprising.

I'm guessing the Slytherin welcome message the only one that talked shit about the other houses, right? Saying Ravenclaws were stuck-up snobs and that Hufflepuffs were losers and stuff like that? xD

Actually if anything, I'd think Slytherin would call Gryffindor the stuck up snobs. :P

GlowKnight3967, Hufflepuff (fark yeah), 11 inch surprisingly swishy yew wand with unicorn hair core, screech owl pet.

Nah, it's not just Slytherin-- even the Hufflepuff welcome gives the suspicous side-eye to Slytherin and calls Ravenclaw a bunch of stuck-up glory-hogs. Gotta have a little house loyalty here and there.

Also c'mon, guys. No shame in Hufflepuff! Loyalty and hard work and such on. I actually ditched ship when my first account put me in Gryfindor because I wanted Hufflepuff, darn it. /proceeds to be the only person who actually wanted to be in Hufflepuff

I believe Slytherin called Ravenclaw too competitive and not friendly enough to be in a house together, with Slytherins being a "true family", and Gryffindor were wannabe Slytherins because they have extremely similar characteristics. But naturally, Slytherin is better, for whatever reason, lol.
