after diving deeper into this sub forums many pages i came across a few topics about artist commissions, i was kinda shocked there wasn't a lot of them since Commissions are some people's only source of income.

after browsing a lot of deviantart and furaffinity i've picked up on users from the SSMB who are also artists and take commissions, some of them are just doing it for extra money on the side, but others generally are in need of as many as they can possibly get for very important matters such as bills or life changing events.

i was inspired to open this thread for a particular user here and she's also a member of Deviantart and FA too, the user in question is Toast/Ktullanyx

here is the reasons behind her desire for commissions
as you can see she is in dire need of commission work and a lot of it to make her dream a reality,

this is partly why i'm opening this thread... to advertise Artist's taking commissions and if they want, to also express the reasons behind it if its something more important than just spare change!

I've been meaning to take up commissions myself, although I have no special reason. Just as a type of challenge to further improve my drawing ability.

There's a couple of things I'm uncertain about the process that I still need to learn.
But as a representative of the ”Spreading The Joy Club,¨ (And the only member. XP ) I am more than happy to give a helping hand to make a dream come true, if they want it.

If that makes sense...I'm not used to posting on my 3DS...

Right - how am I going to approach this thread then, I wasn't aware this was made at all.

I like the idea here. However, I can't say for sure that I'm that completely okay with how the OP is structured, even though I appreciate you being fully concerned over our somewhat personal matters. To be honest, the idea of a commission thread for artists has been an idea in my mind for quite some time, although I never really bothered to work on one and go through with the finer details on how to build one. It's something that quite seems in it's right to be an exception to the "No Advertising" rule, because we've got quite a bit of talented artists here who would perhaps love to offer their services. That said, I feel it could need some fine tuning.

For one thing, I'm not particularly sure I'm that perfectly okay with posting in full our own reasons for doing commissions. It's not always perfect practice - it can easily push people into not thinking it's not worth paying for some work. I realize this is all in good intentions, but there seems to be a good deal of attention directed towards our situation, and I can't say I feel that comfortable with it - kind of like we're taking spotlight here. I amended your post a bit accordingly.

Other than that this could prove to be an interesting experiment. I spoiler tagged each user's commission offers. I suggest that each user has a link to their profile so they can contact by PM and not negotiate these things in public either, so basically making this more into a comprehensive list than a discussion hub, because to be honest, things like these can easily spiral out of hand.

Basically what that means is if you want to commission someone, you contact them by PM. This thread can only serve for comprehensive information for people offering commissions.

i was also thinking of structuring it better and realized my errors afterwards, i'm not good with the forum structuring anyway so thanks for helping.

another thing i was thinking about is pinning the topic since it may have frequent activity and such, but its completely up to the mods of course

i guess i treated it as a spur of the moment thing, it needs more care and attention.

Sound very cool, can the ones doing commissions tell what art styles they can do?

Hey guys what's going on in this threa-
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.

Wow jeeze I seriously didn't expect this to happen, not one bit. I really appreciate it though! We could use all the signal boosting we can get. I don't want to contribute to whatever possible advertising this may lead to though, so uh, if anyone's curious about my work, just drop me a message, I guess? I've also got links in my signature...

May I suggest that there's links or pics within the spoilers of each artist for examples of their works? It'd be awesome to view everyone's style from here and then kinda see which ones would work with something I wanted for example. I just hope some of you guys would be cool with non-Sonic stuff too, since I'm usually always desperately looking for artists, D;.

of course, the thread itself is still under major construction and i'm sure the majority of artists here aren't restricted just to the SEGA Sonic style (except me...*sob*) with the help of you mods (like i said, not too familiar with how to hotlink and stuff in these forums) i'll get this fleshed out into a more professional workspace and area to keep track of commissionees and artist's prices and art examples.

thanks for the input Wolfy! :)

I do non-Sonic related stuff sometimes.

Annoyingly, most of my best work are Sonic related though...I'm currently training to draw the human figure better and have recently learned a new kind of colouring style.
Maybe I should create new art to specifically be used as a type of portfolio?

I want to help and be a part of something, and I'm trying to give up my procrastinating ways. So I'll try to help anyway I can. ^-^

I actually have been doing some commissions for a bit. I have a list going at the moment, since it is literally my only income of money which I hope to save up for future Art Tables and possibly more in the future. I'm considering putting my information on my profile once my list clears up.

A thread where people can find the artists they are looking for?

I like the idea. Its always nice to keep these things together. Nice and convent for all. While, I’m here, I do fancy myself as a commission artist, so I might as well throw my hat into this ring while I still can.

First and foremost, I’d like to state that Drawing is my favorite pastime. Its probably the only hobby I have that has a leg up on videogames. On the commission side of things, I try to earn a few extra bucks where I can to sustain my hobby and fuel my video game addition. As a college student, Mom tends to look at me funny when I invest my work earnings into video games, so I try to restrict my spending on that front to what I can earn drawing things for other people. I haven’t been at it too long, but its working out well enough so far.

I’m an artist that is always looking for a challenge. Me and my brother work together on a lot of stuff, so between the two of us, I believe I can tackle any style or character. Most of my work involves Sonic or Pokemon related stuff, but whenever I branch out, people seem to like the end results.

If your interested in a commission, just get in contact with me and I’ll let you know what I can do about it. I get most of my commissions done in 24-48 hours, so I’m pretty fast too. People seem to appreciate that.

I can tackle pretty much anything, plus I have a pretty in-depth editing process that gives the buyer tons of feedback potential. I’m proud of that.

I do have a commission price chart I can share. Again, these prices a varable depending on # of characters, complexity, ect. But it’s a ballpark figure. I'm all over DeviantArt, so if you wanna see more, or get in contact with me, that would be a good place to start. (link in my sig!)

Thanks for making this topic Peacock. Us artists can use all the exposure we can get.

I hope this doesn't get misunderstood, but if I have commissions of stuff, they are to be my characters that no one has drawn before, so really if anyone wants to make my nightmarish masterpieces (it sounds paradoxical, but I mean really sad story, but wonderful characters), keep that in mind. I will add details and what they symbolize.

And my knowledge of art style terms is kinda dull...

EDIT JUNE 19 2012: At the moment this is outdated and I won't be accepting anymore commissions through this post. I'm currently making a post on deviantART on this, so please refer to that for commission rates.

Anyone who currently has already bought a commission for me but has not yet received their drawing will still have their commissions adhere to this post's guidelines.

I'm doing this yup

All I can do right now though is just character art, no backgrounds. I also can't do better shading yet, like anything with tint or multiple light sources, etc. - but I am learning, so I hope I can expand what I can do eventually. I'm willing to draw anything within reason.

Examples and (tentative) prices are below. And yes I can draw full body pics, these ones just aren't.

Spoiler

If you want an avatar version of the drawing, especially if it's a transparent PNG, just ask me and I'll throw it in AT NO EXTRA CHARGE WHAT A DEAL MAN

Lastly, I use Paypal for transactions. I only accept USD.

EDIT: Some other additional info I decided upon for now. I'm only going to allow a limited number of changes one can make to a commission. I'll show you the rough sketch before proceeding with the rest of the drawing, where you request for any alterations that suit you; the same deal applies when I finish the line art. However, once I show you the flat colored version (whether you ordered a flat color or shaded color drawing), the only changes I will allow are those related to color, but I can make exceptions for very minor tweaks. Just keep in mind that if you keep requesting additional changes after that, I won't really feel like doing it, sorry.

Like JezMM below, I'm okay with drawing NSFW stuff. However, please be sure to discuss with me the nature of what you want because there are certain things I might not agree to drawing. At the current moment I am only confident in drawing relatively tame pics such as fanservice-heavy things or casual nudity.
