All-Stars Racing Transformed: The Track Roster Thread

I'm mostly excited to see how Sumo makes Chemical Plant and Casino Night look. I will wait and see.

If the rumored Sonic tracks are legit, we'd have Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 4 represented.

---

Also, the Super Monkey Ball track is among the returning tracks, so I'd move that to the "retro" section and perhaps rename that section "returning" or "remixed". Retro implies something else.

---

Also, for the rumored section add Space Channel 5. It was mentioned in the GamesRadar preview.

And add Skies of Arcadia to rumored. Since Vyse is a racer and flight is one of the three modes, a Skies track would be perfect and is very possible.

I am mostly interested in Chemical Plant, I wonder how that would even go down. Now that you can transform into a boat, you can probably go in the pink chemical water, but I wonder how they'll use the Jet transformation. Well, not EVERY stage has to have BOTH transformations, I guess.

Well, I can say, I hope the GH,CP and CS rumors are false I'd rather see less used stages and not two that had full levels in the last big HD game + the other's lookalike as a mini game. GH and CS would be shit because of ASR 1's levels, too.

I'd like to mainly see stages from the Genesis and Dreamcast era. Not because I like them more or something, but I'd find it most interesting to see them recreated to todays standards

As much as I've heard that people wouldn't want to see Chemical Plant included since it's already in Generations, I think it would make a seriously fun track! Especially with the transformation element of the game...I can see it now!

Oh yeah, forgot that it's Casino Street, not Night, that was listed on the toy site. So it was a Sonic 4 track.

Yeah I'd rather some less used stages as well, maybe some handheld representation. Water Palace anybody? That'd be sooooo good.

Really? I thought it was a new stage?

If any "new" Sonic track was in the game, Chemical Plant would be one of my top picks, so I'm hoping that rumor is true. The track could have standard racing on the chemical pipes (as well as maybe shortcuts where you actually go into the pipes and get transported to another part of the track), a boating section on an overflow of chemical fluid, and a flight segment where you fly around the wire infrastructure that's also characteristic of the level. Maybe also include enormous chemical barrels (i.e. those structures Modern Sonic jumped on to access that Light Dash shortcut at the beginning of Generations' Modern Chemical Plant), and have those Spiker(?) enemies cling onto the walls and structures firing projectiles at you. It could be a very fun and very hectic level if done right.

I really hope Tropical Resort is a track though. It's a somewhat popular level, was recently re-imagined in Sonic Generations 3DS, and just fits the racetrack feel to me. A flight segment that has you navigate meteor showers like in Modern Tropical Resort would be crazy fun, and a boating section would help make the "Tropical" part of the name important. It would be really easy to include fan service for Sonic and a whole slew of other franchises in the level by virtue of the level being rendered as a tourist attraction too. plus any remix of the theme is a good thing.

hold the phone. What is the rumored Sonic 3 stage?

Also to the Water palace comment. That would be a great stage for the 3DS and Vita.

You were right to begin with. It is an entirely new stage.

Not rumored, but confirmed. The Death Egg.

I really am hoping for Green Hill Zone. I know that we already had Seaside Hill, but a racing game with Sonic representation has to have the traditional tropical greenery level, and GHZ fits the bill quite well! Chemical Plant and Casino Street are awesome, too.

As for other franchises, I'm putting my bets on something from NiGHTS showing up. They might use Frozen Bell from NiGHTS Into Dreams to fill the obligatory snow level, but if not, I'm hoping for Twin Seeds. It's an awesome looking (and sounding!) level.

Aside from that, Billy Hatcher's Pirate Island level could be cool. I'm fine with whatever we get, because I know that Sumo never disappoints in this category!

I gave the OP a "like" for the rules, specifically the no asking for the Sonic 2 options screen as a track rule.

I want to see Starlight Carnival or Aquarium Park if possible.

The returning stages are sweet too.

I'd love too see Starlight Carnival getting some representation. Very Rainbow road esque!

Only basing the Sonic tracks on levels from the classics (if that ends up being true) is certainly an improvement over taking absolutely everything from Heroes, but I'd still rather see a more balanced representation of the series. An ARK track would be glorious, as would pretty much anything from Colours.

Other than that... well, I'd be happy to see a Bayonetta track if she doesn't make it in as a racer (which seems likely, given... y'know, it's Bayonetta). There are some really unique, wacky things you could do with that game that'd fit the transforming tracks idea perfectly.

Actually, another thing I just thought about...

The Music.

While it's pretty obvious and logical that each stage being represented will feature its own theme, if not possibly remixed, what about the other tracks that will be included? The original All-Stars Racing had multiple music tracks you could choose from for each track, so what kind of alternate themes do you think will be included, whether or not they're actually being remixed?

Since Death Egg is returning, is it likely that the original theme from Sonic & Knuckles will be remixed this go round? Additionally, what kind of music can we expect to hear? In addition to the songs that were included in the original DLC pack, do you think we might also hear

(or
) from SA2,
from Sonic CD's JP soundtrack (the "Present" variety, that is),
theme from Sonic Unleashed, or perhaps even the
theme from Sonic Generations? Edited by Indigo Rush

Didn't S0L say it would be one song a track? So unless those levels get in, I'd say no.

I'd like to race through Click Clock Wood, Hailfire Peaks, or Glitter Gulch Mine if Banjo and Kazooie are in the game again.

Well, classic levels from Sonic games would be neat (Flying Battery, Ice Cap, humm), Heroes only is just boring. But no more Green Hill, please xD

I hope the rumors for GZ, CP and CS aren't true, as awesome as it would be, these levels were already used in the last main game last year and I feel other levels from other Sonic games which haven't returned should be used more. I'd love to see Jungle Joyride (as it featured water and land parts in Unleashed which could work for ARST), an ARK level from SA2/Shadow would be pretty cool, I also wouldn't mind seeing Starlight Carnival but other than that, but I'd also like to see if they would bring back the tracks in Riders which were based on sega themes (Sega Carnival, Sega Illusion, B-80s etc) It probably won't happen but I still think it would be an interesting choice if they brought back those tracks to ASRT as those levels in both Riders games had a lot of fun and unique features in those levels. I actually hoping that SEGA Carnival and SEGA Illusion make it in to the All Stars racing sequel, I'd love to play these levels again because they were my favourites in Sonic Riders.

If anything, it would be Spiral Mountain. Not that we should expect exclusive tracks, especially 3rd party tracks..
