All-Stars Racing Transformed: The Track Roster Thread

It could have been much better if Seaside Hill was mixed with another green zones from Sonic world, it would make it more original than just copy paste a whole level. It would even deal with the fact that "this is not a specific zone, but a track that shows what Sonic is all about". Isn't that what happened to all the others IPs? Why Sonic didn't get the same treatment?

So far we got Sky Sanctuary to represent the mega drive era, Seaside Hill for the DC era and Starlight Carnival for the current era. I don't think we're gonna see more Sonic tracks, besides the returning ones.

One of the main reasons we don't do one 'This is what Sonic is all about' track as we have multiple tracks representing that IP. For the others, they get one or maybe two (if you count the returning tracks).

So whilst you're you being critical of the fact that we have 5 Sonic tracks (Seaside Hill, Starlight Carnival, Sky Sanctuary, Casino Park Classic and Death Egg Classic) bear in mind if you're a fan of another IP, you're getting far less.

We're reading you loud and clear here by the way, you wanted more variety last time, we're doing our best to deliver it, next time, if there is one, we'll likely pick something different from the Sonic levels that have been.

Or maybe we'll just have less Sonic tongue.png

Actually...

Is... is that a confirmation that these are all the Sonic tracks in the game revealed now? 8C

...I mean it's a completely reasonable number with a good span of variety, I just don't want it to be true. 8C Lol.

I'd be fine with a DLC Sonic stage. I'd love to see something from CD(wasn't there a interview with Iizuka saying he wanted Wacky Workbench in generations somewhere?)or SA. Freaking. Twinkle. park. Or station square.

5 is more than enough in my opinion.

By Casino Park Classic, do you by any chance mean Casino Night Zone, S0L?

He means Roulette Road from the original ASR. Classic = from the first game. Roulette Road was set in Casino Park.

I know, but I still was kind of holding out hope for perhaps just one more that wouldn't be revealed at all until the game was out. 8C

Well maybe DLC will fill that void of sadness.;) At least I hope so.

Well from what I work out we still have 2 more tracks that are a complete mystery. I am of course including the unknown Shinobi track, unknown Billy Hatcher track, and unknown "one track that is not based on a single IP" track in those 18 that are known of.

I'm guessing House of the Dead will be one of those, and the other... hmm, well, anyone's guess actually.

While it would of been nice to have some other Sonic levels reimanged in 3d (Lava Reef, Ice Cap, Twinkle Park, Sky Fortisses) I'm just glad that instead of 9 sonic tracks based on 3 stages, we have five completely different zones from 3 different sonic tittles. We have Sky Sancuary, Starlight Carnival, Death Egg, Casino Park and Seaside Hill. Yes, we have seen Seaside Hill and Sky Sancuary just last year and Casino Park was in the last game but its nice theres alot of verity.

Off topic; Is the Billy Hatcher track brand new or is it another remastered track and is the HotD track based on a differnet tittle (HotD 3, Overkill)?

The Billy Hatcher track would have to be a new track, seeing as S0L confirmed that the last returning track will be Casino Park.

Though when was the Billy Hatcher track confirmed?

Today in an interview with a Sumo Digital dev, I think the link was posted some pages back. There have been quite a few new details today from previews and interviews.

EDIT:

I say today, but I meant yesterday, as it's after midnight here in the UK.

Thanks for the answer regarding the Billy Hatcher track guys biggrin.png. Another question but for SOL, what was the process on what IP's you would use for tracks/characters? I know a while back some ips had extensive work as Monkey Ball creator helped you guys out on the its track for its water section and how Sonic Team helped out designing Sonic's car for the first game but was it a challange getting the rights to use the ip's? I know other crossover games such as PlayStation All Stars had a long process getting access to the ips used for its game.

So, counting the mentioned Shinobi, House of the Death, Billy Hatcher, Sky Sanctuary and Roulette Road tracks, only two tracks remain unknown, with one of them probably being something like SEGA Carnival from Riders.

I was really looking forward to a Space Channel 5 track this time, especially after one of the early previews that mentioned one, but I guess the chance is now lower than ever, even with Ulala being (thankfully) revealed now. :/

Anyway, the track selection offers amazing variety so far, no comparison to the first All-Stars Racing!

Interesting. So the sequel will have a Billy Hatcher getting an ice-based track. Nice work Sumo. Outrun stage is sure going to be fun. Hopefully that the Chemical Plant Zone still have a chance. If not then, oh well, I can live without it.

No, it's already been said there's a track that's not based on any IP in particular. So that's most likely the last track.

Besides, Planet Sonata being the last track doesn't fit in with this game's theme of "getting thematically darker as the tracks get more difficult".

I'm trying to imagine how the cups are structured.

First Cup (Easy)

Ocean View

Temple Tumble

Samba Studios

Dream Valley

Second Cup (Medium)

Carrier Zone

???

Graffiti City

Galactic Parade

Third Cup (Hard)

Unnamed Shinobi Track

???

Rogue's Landing

Dragoon Canyon

Fourth Cup (Super Hard)

Adder's Lair

Unnamed House of the Dead track

???

???

See how the progression goes from light to dark? I imagine that's how this would go.

I thought of doing something different from Mario. 4 Cups with an easy-to hard progression, like this:

1st Cup:

Easy

Medium

Advanced

Hard

2nd:

Easy

Medium

Advanced

Hard

Etc.

we have 20 tracks, so I think we're going to have 5 cups, and I think we're going to see something like this:

Cup 1

Ocean View

Sunshine Tour

Shibuya Downtown

Temple Trouble

Cup 2

Dream Valley

Samba Studios

Roulette Road

Carrier Zone

Cup 3

Dragon Canyon

Graffiti City

Shinobi Track

Billy Hatcher track

Cup 4

Sky Sanctuary

???

Rogue's Landing

Egg Hangar

Cup 5

Adder's Lair

Galactic Parade

House of the Dead track

???

Galactic Parade can't be considered a thematically dark track. House of the Dead and Adder's Lair are both scary tracks, which is what is meant by dark. Galactic Parade is not scary.

The tracks are meant to get more menacing as the game proceeds. Also, I don't know where you got Egg Hangar from. That was never said to be in the game.
