Hi, not sure if this has already been a topic somewhere else on here (my apoligies if it has)
I thought this would be a good topic for people to post thair own original artwork/characters/written work and other things non sonic related.

I have been working on my own animation series (yet to be posted), and although not sonic related, I know that my love of the characters and art has definitely had an influence on my own characters, art style and humour.

http://a3.sphotos.ak...266304337_n.jpg
(thats a little preview of it there)

I know there is a lot of really great original stuff out there that doesnt get the comments and views it deserves because the work ends up burried amongst fan-art (not that there's anything wrong with fan art of course), so I felt that this would be a nice way for people to talk about their own original stuff. Huh, I'm surprised nobody's replied to this topic... I think it's a pretty good Idea.

Anyways, I could go on and on for days about the many series Ideas I come up with, but I think for now I'll just stick to my high school series that I'm trying to revamp. Looking back, the comic had quite a bit of flaws, such as too many characters, Family Guy style jokes, Highschool Stereotypes (Such as all Jocks are Jerks, Popular girls are bitches, ect.) and got way to dark later in the series.

It was a superhero team comic originally called TV Crew... which is a name that doesn't make any sense, yes. The setting is sort of a Teen Titans meets Amazing World of Gumball. We follow to comic book geeks, a pyrokenetic fox named Derren and a random almost Kirby-like mouse creature named Mouseboy as they try to form a superhero team for their town "Like the Avengers or the Teen Titans!" Mouseboy says. While during first arc they're unsuccessful, they eventually form the team, thus entering their crime fighting and other highjinx.

...It's something you'd have to see to understand because I just realized how ridiculous this all sounds while typing it. :P

sounds interesting, i know its hard not to make cliche' steriotype characters, because we just need to look at all the successful series' to see the main cast are always steriotypes, its usually just the detail beyond that that makes them really original and interesting characters, like a major flaw in a seemingly perfect character, and other stuff, my series is about crime fighting too, considerimg my main cast are lizard policemen lol :D

That's my original series.

I've written/drawn/self published the first issue so far (which is available currently on indyplanet)

It takes place on a demon planet out in the middle of space, and is totally wicked. Has cool chainsaw swords and lots of action and monster people and badassery all around.

Here are the first seven pages if you want to see 'em:
Spoiler

I also want to start up soon a different comic series:

Something just for the web. Involves dreams and nightmares and their manifestations as creatures amidst warring islands.

Anyway I always have lots of different ideas and never enough time to do them all.

I'm a little apprehensive about posting my exact ideas and concepts on the interwebs at this current time, from fear of said ideas and characters being stolen, (because hey, it's the internet, and some of my fan art has been stolen before in the past,) but what I can say is that I'm attempting a medium length action-adventure style story in the form of several graphic novels, with both eastern and western influences, with a linear story that has a beginning, middle and end; Something I don't really see attempted on this side of the world too often. (think similar to Scott Pilgrim but on a larger scale) But yeah, if you like stories that feature travelling around to crazy locations, stuff blowing up, and lots of fights, then you'll like what I'm developing.

Sorry if I sound paranoid, cold, arrogant or even untrusting, but you probably won't hear me mention much about my series at all until I pop out of nowhere someday saying "Oh hey guys, check out this series I just got published." And that's still a long ways off; I'm not planning on actually starting this thing until atleast 2014 or so, and I've been quietly developing it in secret since 2009. I wanna have the whole story and world developed and planned out and my art skills more refined before then, and I've still got alot of work to do. Heck, you could say that everything I'm drawing today is just practice for that.

Sometimes I do worry that I'm going about this the wrong way however. Once I have a lot more planned out, *and start trademarking things like the name of my series,* I may start opening up more.

I know how you feel Inferno. I too have been planning something myself but its been a bit bumpy for it. I still want to do something with it so until I figure out what to do with its mostly hush hush for me. :P

Like Inferno, I too don't want my original works to be stolen or seen prematurely.

I'm actually filling up a sketchbook with concept art and ideas for a video game I hope to create in the future, I think I've got down the majority of the main characters, I don't want to have too many like Sonic but I want to have a good, recognizable cast like Mario. I've made a few music tracks as well. Now enough crappy info, leave me be.

It's not something I'm planning a whole series on, but I've got this idea for a Megaman-esque game rolling around in my head. A bit like Megaman X plus Gunstar Heroes, since you can actually aim your shots and also grab and throw things. Instead of getting weapons from bosses you'd get full sets of armor that affect your movement and your attacks, and don't have any kind of energy limit (there'd probably only be 4 on top of the default to keep it from being too much to handle, though I'm not sure how to mete them out yet). I was originally planning the controls around a dual stick controller, using the right stick to aim and putting the usual face button stuff on the shoulder buttons, but I don't see it working unless I strip out some moves (you can only reasonably press one left and one right shoulder button at the same time, so you really can't dash and jump and shoot at the same time...hm, unless I have you fire by tilting the right stick? Maybe I'll look into that...). The story I have not really worked out yet, but I'm thinking maybe some kind of artificial humans vs natural humans kind of thing, with the protagonist and the bosses being the former.

I've also got some ideas for a pretty typical fantasy adventure kind of comic (that I'll probably never use because I am the laziest "artist"). Something about a world that's sustained by a drop of a god's blood, which was shed in some inter-god conflict that's totally irrelevant to the actual story (basically the gods, if that's even accurate to call them, are so alien and on such a completely different level that they don't even know about "our" world, and would have no reason to care even if they did). There's some malevolent being trying to absorb all that god-blood for itself (which would essentially kill the world), some benevolent being that actually does care about ordinary people, and their various underlings and followers, most specifically people gifted with a connection to the god-blood, which gives them superpowers. I'm trying to avoid very typical powers, so the "healer" is basically the demigoddess of wounds, who can transfer injury and disease from one person to another, and heals people by transferring injury to herself and letting her godliness heal herself. I'm also trying to avoid the typical Earth+Magic sort of setting; so far I've got vertically-arranged floating continents (possibly broken up into 3 strata, viewed as heaven, Earth, and hell by those in the middle (but obviously it's not that simple)), surrounded by a cylindrical waterfall (which may or may not flow upwards), with a sun that literally rises and falls in the center. I'm worried I'm laying it on a bit thick, tho'.

Just like Wayward Vagabond, I too am planning to revamp a series I created in High School. My first Original series was created when I was roughly 14/15 which I titled "The Formidable Three". It was a comedic Super Hero series which starred Me (Scott Burns), my two friends (Cameron Allison and Robert Hoggan) as the three idiots that gain super powers that hinder us more than help us, my friend Robert Gilchrist as the Evil Mortus, a mad man with wacky hair and a giant crab arm along with his stickman lab assistant: Billy. The whole thing would take place in our local town of Grangemouth. Think of it like a comic Ed, Edd and Eddy meets Teen Titans with the wacky turned up to crazy (11).

Though being my first Original series, it's also the second project to work on, as I'm still working on my first. Which originally started as a Robot Cop meets Power Rangers kind of thing, with one singular suited hero fighting off evil, is now a story of a team of heroes. That series was originally named "Lone Ranger" but I have now titled it "Descendants of Honor". It's a story about a kid named Matthew Gray, a kid that lost his father when he was young, who lives with only his mother and Grandfather to which later he finds out his Grandfathers secret of once being a Ninja Assassin. Later on, his Grandfather begins to become distant and after he disappears; Matt makes it his mission to find out what happened and who did it.

I originally wanted to do this as a comic, but I don't have the skills/talent yet. When I do, I may consider it. But I wanted to get my ideas out in some form of medium; so it's a novel. Though, I'm nearing the end and finished Chapter 15 last night!

Lastly, there's one more idea that's still in concept, which is quite Metroid Inspired. It follows a bounty hunter (I know, sounds like metroid) who's journeying from planet to planet, though I have no real story or premise yet, a lot of mysteries shall surround the character you play as (yes it's a game) and the characters you face against (other hunters or species). If I ever get around to making it. If I get good at drawing then comic it is!

I shared my idea already, but a father with IMMENSE super powers witnesses the supposed slaughter of his 10-year old son and LITERALLY beats himself up over his guilt and not being strong enough to save him. He basically abuses himself as "atonement" to accompany the lack of self-esteem. Saving the multiple existences was stressful enough, now thinking he is an awful person the stress makes him hate himself for not being strong enough. He needs comfort from his wife/the kid's mother (who is NOT a servant type, but more of a "he doesn't deserve this much suffering, he needs reassurance" kind of lady and helps out when fighting monsters)

You see this trope? I'm making a comic based on that. Think Mega Man Legends, except Volnutt reciprocates Tron's feelings and doesn't go with that dumb bitch Roll like the fanon dictates.

I just remembered the other series I had plans.... Robrainiac: Destroyer of Everything.

The series follows Robrainiac, a reptilain Emperor of a robot empire (Not too different from Dr. Eggman actually) who is sick and tired of heroes ruining his schemes and other villains beating him to the punch... So what does he do? He decides that instead of trying to conquer worlds, he instead should kill all of his competition both heroes and villains... Only then will he finally get crap done. This plot is more of a "Hero/Villian of the week" premise, but will also follow a loose storyline as well.

On his side is his army of minions lead by a general who is often annoyed by Robrainiac's hammy nature, a snarky supercomputer who keeps Robrainiac's mechanical floating kingdom running, and a silent grim reaper-like assassin.

This, like TV Crew (I'm still thinking of changing that name) was an Idea I came up with in highschool... Heck it was actually a spin off of TV Crew. Some of the changes I made to it included Robrainiac becoming a more competent yet still over the top hammy character, the Minion General going from a GiR ripoff to a more serious character, the Grim Reaper assassin not talking( to give him a creepier and intimidating vibe) and taking out a character altogether... His gimmick was to quote Memes on the internet... Yeah you could see why I scrapped him.

I'm still working out Ideas as to how I'll make Robrainiac a likable jerk and avoid making people roll their eyes and say, "Our hero, Ladies and Gentlemen."

Actually, I used Robrainiac and the Minion General for a final in an animation class... Here it is:

Oh, a post about original series, I was missing this. I am doing one game as a hobby, in my signiture there is a video about this, I am planning a story so I'll tell nothing for now. It's a simple platform game, based in various games that I played like DK, Sonic and Rayman. The main character is called ArrowHead, he can attack with his head and be reflected by special walls (look the video and you will understand). I'd be happy if you give me feedback about the gameplay or the main character ( this version is alpha so please ignore the graphic part ) Posted Image

I'm the same as Inferno and the others. But I would like to share my ideas in the hopes of getting feedback on character designs and the story. I would've probably put them up in my showcase topic, but I don't even think many people look at it anyway...no danger of anything getting stolen then...*shrug*

But when I look at work from people like Punk, I can't help but wonder why I bother...I can't compete with that...
