Or at the very least increasing the timing window for doing it.A button only for light dashing would be cool.

At least CD is worth playing.Funny you know you say your favourite game is Sonic CD 2011 right ? that's a remake or a port of a older game.
You know what ? That is the same game as the SONIC CD for the Mega CD BUT WITH WIDESCREEN AND HD FILTERS TOO WITH LEADERBOARDS! (sure it adds S2 spindash so what it still plays with original Sonic CD physics if you don't enable it and duel soundtrack so what) See I can do that too, just because YOU don't like the game doesn't mean you can fly around screaming "THIS GAME WILL BE A FAILURE" When it may bring NEW Sonic fans with these XBLA/PSN releases what their parents will buy them.
IMO this game will not be a critical failure It's got SONIC ADVENTURE slapped on the title it's bound to sell a lot of digital copies and it will bring fans like STEVE who hasn't played it in many many years to play it again on his Xbox or PS3 (maybe he's holding out for PC release like myself XD) and it will provide money for SEGA to develop the next SEGA IP/SONIC digital release or retail (imo I think that)
Sorry to go slightly off topic and have a rant thar. Back in to lurker mode

Cut it out with the witty snark. It doesn't suit you and you aren't exactly getting on anyone's good side.

Oh my God. All right I am not Adventure fanboy (Just fan) but this is going too far.
Years ago I let my friends who are FPS players play SA2 on my Dreamcast and they enjoyed it. They said that it was great platformer and nice game to play. They asked me to play CD on my PS3 recently and they said that it was shit. Yes they said that. You see everything is matter of opinion and in some people opinion CD plays like shit. So CD "HD" port (which isn't really HD and is just same game with new spindash) is just same shit with widescreen and isn't worth playing.
I like SA2 that's why I don't participate in those stupid flamewars. It seems that bashing SA2 is trendy now but it's still a Sonic game every gamer I know enjoys playing while CD is only for gamers who like retro platformers and yes my friends think that SA2 is far more enjoyable than Colors or any of the classics.
So can you please cut it off already!
EDIT:Sorry Carbo I haven't seen your post. Should I scrap my post?

The remake may have gotten it more fans, but I can name a couple of people I know that still hate CD regardless. :/
Anywho, so then will there be updated voice acting or will it stay the same?

So you're insulting CD 2011 for being too similar to CD '92, (even though it at least adds a character) and defending SA2 2012, which is... Sonic Adventure 2 on Xbox.
Didn't CD come out in '93? o_O
Way to completely miss the point.

If you going to make comparisons like this, make sure the statements you made don't apply to the thing you are defending far more than they do for the thing you are using to make the comparison. So CD "HD" port (which isn't really HD and is just same game with new spindash) is just same shit with widescreen and isn't worth playing.

Going by how they re-released SADX, I doubt it. It would be kinda cool to see what Roger and co can finally do with a somewhat more serious plot but I doubt Sega would pay them to repeat some lines other people already did (and gained eternal love through out the sonic fan universe).

On the overall subject, nice that they're releasing it for the crowd with no easy means of playing it. Probably not going to get it, as I snagged a GC copy not too long ago and can simply pop it in the Wii if I feel the need to.

I really don't want Kirk Thornton anywhere near Shadow's SA2 performance
Could not have said it better myself. David's performance was one, if not the best I've seen in the series next to anything by Pollock. Really wish David would have stayed as shadow.

Haha I asked myself the same question. I personally can't wait for it.I'm still eagerly waiting this SA2 re-release. Should I kill myself for being a bad person?

This re-release will do fine. SA1 on X360/PS3 isn't really that bad. Since when does Sega have to go through all this effort. When it came out 3 years ago I was just happy to play it again, given that I don't have a GC/Wii, and only burrowed a friends DC to see the games. The only thing about the newer versions of SA1 that bothered was the widescreen border and even so I got used to it.
All other ports were never changed. Why do you people think that the Adventure games were going to be fixed. Sonic CD's core gameplay barely changed.
If you already own the game for the DC or GC versions, don't get it. But for us that don't let us enjoy it. And by thankful we even get that chance again.

The reasons above are why I don't understand why people bash this. So in short, you think I'm excited?
HELL YES!

I already own the game on the Gamecube twice (Used copy and a mint sealed copy), and also on the Dreamcast three-times if the betas count (Full retail version, the trial version, the promotional beta).
I'm still getting this though. This looks like the best version of the game so far.
Hell yeah, Sonic Adventure 2 all day! You know what they say... The MORE, the MERRIER!

I doubt they'll do much to improve the voice acting. Wouldn't they have to re-record the lines with the new voice cast and then re-edit all the sound effects and such? The sfx probably wouldn't be too hard to find, but I still doubt they'll re-record the lines.
I am kinda disappointed that there's no online multiplayer though. :/

I've had my copy of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for ten years now. I need good reasons to download the new version. Make me a believer in this new version, Sega.
