Basically, anybody from the old and middle days you'd love to see return?

Like say Yuji Naka, or Yoshihisa Hashimoto, or some of the old VA's?

What would you think or hope they'd do if one of the old faces came back to the franchise for at least one game?

Discuss.

Is it any surprise that I really want Hashimoto to come back? The guy seemed to have the most fun directing out of his contemporary counterparts still working there, and as a result Unleashed is the most ambitious and enjoyable game out of the current era. The other guys are just passing the buck along; there's no fire there to do anything interesting with the universe. I think it would've been great to see what he would've done next, even if the current climate would've reigned him in a bit.

David Humphrey also needs to come back because damn if he wasn't the best voice for Shadow ever.

I'm no insane VA nut but I admit that it would be nice to hear more of Jason Griffith doing Sonic's voice. I confess I was disappointed that they got shot of him right when he had a stirring performance as Sonic in both Unleashed and SatBK and I wanted to hear more of it. Got absolutely nothing against Roger or anything, think he's damn fine even if his Sonic voice sounds too old and sarcastic and I know that reinstating yet another VA would be silly wouldn't it?

And whilst I've developed a great liking for the Sonic Colours/Generations writers due to clever writing of the villains in Colours and the obvious research they put into Generations' references to other titles and the charming little quirks despite minimalistic story, I think it'd actually be quite awesome if the fella who write the Storybook games and Unleashed came back and teamed-up with them. Just think of the possibilities Posted Image

Hideki Naganuma, the man's infectious beats from Sonic Rush makes me crave more of his work.

Although I don't know their names, I'd really like the animators from Production I.G. who did the Sonic Riders openings to come back and do something sometime. Cutscenes, a new OVA, anything.

I'd like Yuji Naka to return. As soon as he left Sonic 06 took a turn for the worst (He left half-way during development), and also after that the series just keeps getting more and more boring.

I will like to say the original sonic team (Naka, Oshima, Yasuhara, Kusunoki) and Nakamura doing music and see how they will make a Sonic game today. I don't know it is most likely this will not happen but one can dream. Posted Image

Hashimoto and Naka. Because who doesn't like the direction Unleashed's story went? And Naka because I'd like the 2D games to be more Classic oriented with competent physics rather than Dimps' shit. Otherwise I thinking everything is fine as it is.

Sonic 06 will probably still suck even if he stayed.

Well, the subject of this thread is pretty broad, you could throw characters in the mix as well if you like.

I figured there was already a thread for old characters, but if there isn't, what Inferno said goes. :r

Is there one? because if there is then disregard what I said. :x We could keep it limited to the actual real people who bring the games and other Sonic media to life.

I would love for Jason Griffith, Lisa Ortiz, and Ryan Drummond to come back as Shadow, Amy, and Metal Sonic (that is if Sega decides to have the latter talk in future games).

It'd be extremely bittersweet to have Drummond come back as a character that can literally be voiced by anybody.

Fumie Kumatani needs to come back. She's worked wonders on the music for the franchise before being relegated to cutscene music in Colours and absent from Generations entirely. What gives?

Crazy Robo ...Boss: E-101R Lots more for SA1 like 'Run Through the Speed Highway', a collab effort with Jun.
For True Story ...for Sonic vs. Shadow Along with a number of Shadow tracks and lots of Chao music .
Bright Sound ...for Dry Lagoon Not to mention a few of Rouge's tracks.
Special Stage : Emerald Challenge / Extended ver This is all she did for Heroes.
The White of Sky — Music & Arrangement But come SatST she had lots of credits, including 'High and Broken' and many of the party games.
Cool Edge - Night She is...
Skyscraper Scamper - Day the highlight...
Tornado Defense - 1st Battle of Unleashed.

EDIT: Oh fuck off IPB, I want links not embeds. Had to TinyURL Youtube links...

I love me some Kumatani as well, but I had no idea she did the Special Stage music for Heroes, which just so happens to be my favorite song from that game. It explains everything.

Speaking of musicians, I think Masaru Setsumaru could've probably done some good work as a composer, if not taken the reins from Jun on Sonic 4 altogether. He did Tornado Scramble for SA1, which I think is like the only song he's ever done for the franchise. However, it stands out from the rest of the soundtrack because it both sounds and feels like a distinctly classic-era arrangement. It's one of the catchier songs in the whole game, so I wouldn't mind a whole soundtrack of that.

Yeah I'm going to go with Hashimoto, he definitely was the most ambitious out of all the directors, its pretty obvious given the absolute scale Unleashed had compared to the later entries.

That girl made the Special Stage for Heroes and the Tornado Defense 1st? These are one of my fav songs from each of these games. She really need to come back, hell yeah! Talking about musicians, I'd like to see Masato Nakamura back too!
And Yuji Naka, to a true 1-1 Genesis physics, unlike the one Dimps and ST are 'trying' to do.
And Marine.

I like her!! ^^
