Lol I was actually part of Sailor Moon week! I remember everybody who was a staff member (I was one at the time), had a Sailor Moon character in their avatar. I think mine was Luna? X3

Anyways, I quite like Sailor Moon but I haven't watched many episodes. Maybe I should give it a proper watch to prepare myself for this new series. Can't wait!

So thrilled about this. I rarely like series that run as long as Sailor Moon did, but somehow it always got me coming back for more, despite it's repetitive nature and it's horrible English dub (before I got to see it in it's uncut glory). It was the anime that got me into the genre that I've spent WAY too much money on over the years (*shakes fist*). The movies are still personal favorites, as well.

Just for the record, Sailor Venus was always my favorite. What's that? Snatcher likes a female character with blonde hair and who's primary color is orange?! THE HECK YOU SAY.

So much memories of watching the original Sailor Moon - wait until I show my sister this I'm sure she'll love the new Sailor Moon Series.

I seem to be the only person who is apprehensive about this. I mean, while getting at least two of the original voice actors back is reassuring, the last time they did those voices was over 15 years ago, and what if they can't get the rest of them back? What if they end up putting some bizarro stuff in there that drags the series down?

Don't get me wrong, I'm highly anticipating more Sailormoon and this announcement makes me want to kick it up a gear and rewatch the entire series, but I have my reservations.

(maybe this will prompt them to revive the Seramyu; what I wouldn't give for the chance to go and see one of those!)

Not gonna lie the new designs look... kinda lame. I dunno, they just seem to lack the life of the old ones. I guess we'll see when we get full animation.

I was kind of expecting more of a departure from the old style.  I would've loved to have seen the characters with a more modern look, but I guess the fans would've been up in arms.

I first heard about this a year ago at the Canada FanExpo in Toronto. Personally, instead of seeing a reboot I'd rather prefer to see a sequel which tells about the lives of the Sailor Senshi after they finish middle-school and high-school.

I keep imagining and wondering what careers they would all end up choosing, who and when they would marry, and I keep wondering if Sailor Jupiter ever manages to conquer her fear of airplanes.

I keep envisioning both Minako and Makoto as stewardesses for some reason. I really do.

 

So yeah, I'm basically against reboots of all sorts for everything, because they just ruin my precious childhood memories.

 

I am currently enjoying the manga series. I own 8 out of the total 12 books so far, and I'm planning to eventually buy the remaining 4 books during the upcoming Canada FanExpo this August.
