Check it out guys, my first legit venture into 3d-ish effects and, of course, Sonic badniks! What do you all think? Let me know if you liked it, found it funny, or if you have any tips! If people like it I'd probably be able to get to work on a sequel or similar video very soon!

You know what the two best kills are in that? The Buzzbomber and the moto bug, why? Because it was one hit kill with the gun. Now don't think this is some 'oh why do the badniks have health bars' type thing.
When you killed the buzzbomber with the one bullet, you set up a rule for how powerful that gun is against the badniks. So when the other one takes several bullets to go down, it's not as impressive and looks a tad naff.
The motor bug kill was pretty funny and looked great, because it was so easily to tell that you were either gonna stomp on it or kick it.
If you're gonna go around shooting them, personally I'd make either my own laser rifle and use that... or... keep the gun, only replace the handgun SFX... with that of a shotgun... now I know what you're thinking, but I think it'll look better if they go down in one hit, it'll make both you and the gun seem quite powerful, afterall, you are fighting robots!

I thought it was pretty cool, but you can make it a tad better.

Haha thanks for the advice man! I definitely agree with your points. Certainly going to follow those tips if I make a sequel! Thanks again for the feedback.

Hahahaha really glad you liked it. Sorry about the guns. But I figured it would be better than trying to do a human homing-attack.

I'm thinking that maybe a second Badnik video would do best with some sort of plot and dialogue, and a nice location, maybe somewhere rural? I could probably go to the city, and since buildings have hard outlines unlike trees, it would be feasible to replace the sky with something dramatic and Sonic-level ish, and then build on that location.
I'm thinking possible I could make it into something more like an actual Sonic level, with similar movements and action. Any thoughts on that? Maybe speed boosters on the ground, rings in the air, stuff like that. Is that a good idea?
Just let me know if you have any tips or further ideas, I'd really appreciate the advice.

I beg to differ. I feel that it makes sense considering the fact that the Egg Flapper took several hits to kill in the games (excluding Generations) as compared to the other badniks which took one hit kills in the games too, no?
Another thing: yes, go ahead and have a plot and dialogue! It'll make it more engaging!

Ugh, I think that's what Sonic Heroes did right in a bad way. They had power characters so there's an excuse. It's boring to see something take too many hits and then go away no?
Next, I liked this the way it is! A short no dialogue video! It worked well that way.
Lastly, I hope in the sequel you can use more weapons and the surroundings more interactively. For example, the next one you have a playground and then there is a tree near it, you can use a fallen branch to hit one of the enemies and then if there's a frisbee nearby, use that... You know what I mean?
We all have different opinions but we can all agree this was a good start!

THIS... is a must. I'm definitely going to make better use of the environment (and hopefully have a cooler environment) in the next one. I'm even thinking about digitally adding items into the environment (like trees, cars) that I can use to make things more dramatic.
I agree that we all have different opinions. Just a suggestion, Andrew - you can have no dialogue in the video, but still have a plot - something like Mr. Bean, you get what I mean?
Either way I think it would work! Your right, the point is having a plot, dialogue or not. In fact, in some cases having conversation before the action starts could deter a few viewers. I think it might be better to introduce the situation with visuals, like a quick scan of the area with a camera or a well-edited opening sequence (similar to a cut-scene) before the actual "video-game" action.
