Man I love pixar. And not just cause my Uncle works there. The atmosphere is so different for each movie. I love it! It's so magical. Honestly I love them better than disney themselves. They seem to care more about what the release. My favorites have got to be Toy story 3, Bugs life and UP.Oh and Monsters INC. Although most of there movies are amazing.

Pixar has a powerful effect on me. It all started in the magical year of when the greatest toy series of all time, Bionicle, came out, 2001.

I was 3 years old, and my mom came home with a VHS. You know, the tapes that are, in my opinion, slightly better than DVDs, since they don't get scratched, and can be fixed. The VHS said "Toy Story 2" on it. Being 3 years old, I wanted to watch the movie. And since then, Pixar became a love in my life. Seeing toys come to life with great personalities, unique designs, and creative scenarios, made me interested in animation. I even got some of my toys, and left my room, thinking they came to life. Hell, I still think that now, because it reminds me of my first Pixar films, as well as one of the first films I saw. Toy Story 2 still remains my favorite Pixar film of all time.

I also have another interesting story to tell. :D

In 5th Grade, this new kid came to school. I was unsure of him at the time, but he was pretty cool. We had to do a writing project on whatever we wanted. His project was on how he auditioned to play Russel in Up. He didn't get the part, but it was one HELL of shock when he had the chance to be famous. When the movie was coming out, we saw an Up blimp fly past our school. It was cool, and we it reminded me on why Up is a unique Pixar film. I knew someone who auditioned in it. :)

My favorite Pixar movies include:

1. Toy Story 2

2. WALL-E

3. Brave

4. Toy Story 3

5. Up

:D

Pixar is great, I've watched every single one of their movies in theaters. (Except Brave.) I like all Pixar movies, Monsters Inc., Toy Story 3, Up and Toy Story being my personal favorites. None of their movies are truly bad, even though people say Cars 2 is a bad movie, it isn't HORRIBLE, it's still a good movie, it may be lacking in some areas, but it's still good. I've pretty much grown up watching Pixar movies though, the first Toy Story was the first movie I've ever seen, so I love that movie because it gives me so much nostaglia.

Inb4 OMG CARS SUCKS PIXAR IS DEAD!!!!1!!!!

Seriously, am I the only one who's sick of the Pixar threads that change into rants about how much everyone here hates the Cars movies? Admittedly while I don't think those movies were that bad, It gets really tiring to hear the same damn thing over and over and over from the same damn people... not just here, everywhere. And anyone who brings up the ratings from Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic is gonna get a swift bop to the face. I DO NOT GIVE A CRAP ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK!!! QUIT SHOVING IT DOWN MY THROAT!!!

Whoa... violent rant mode shutting down. Sorry about that, it's just that I've seen it happen so much, that it bugs me. I'm done now.

I digress though, I enjoyed all of Pixars movies so far, even Cars 2. (Though I admit, it wasn't Pixar's best, I still find some enjoyment out of it) I do think however that Pixar is starting to go overboard with the sequels. And am I the only one who wouldn't care for an Incredibles sequel? Yes the ending was more open than most of Pixar's other movies, but I liked it as it's own movie... I don't think it needs one along with Pixar's many other movies. I was a bit worried when I learned from the Movie thread that Finding Nemo was getting a sequel, but I think Andrew Stanton jossed it... Thank heavens.

Overall, Pixar is a great animation studio, I've seen every Pixar movie in theatres... It's actually become a tradition for me to watch a Pixar movie in theaters. I, along with my family, love it... Hell even my Dad actually loved "The Incredibles" Which is surprising, considering he often ignores modern day animated movies.

My personal favorites in Pixar's library include the Toy Story trilogy, Monsters Inc, and Wall-e.

And now for something completely different... My sister is possibly the only Cars fangirl I know outside and on the internet, and seeing as how most of the female members on this board (The ones I've seen anyway) hate Cars, it's pretty... Interesting. tongue.png

Other than Cars 1 and Cars 2, they have never made a bad movie, I still have to see Brave, but it looks interesting

Pixar's stories work in part because they have such an overwhelming attention to detail, staging, framing, metaphor, and even subtlety that serves to elevate their narratives above the norm. That, along with their brain-trust way of crafting films and the leeway to scrap tons of material, allows them to take the most ludicrous concepts as well as mature ones and craft them into really well-told experiences. It's why DreamWorks- as good as they've become since their Shrek-whoring days- haven't and probably can't achieve that kind of acclaim and universal appeal. They're simply less clever.

I've seen every Pixar movie but Cars 2, and I love them to bits. Their attention to detail, clever writing, and innovative ideas never fail to impress me. Sure, Cars 2 was definitely their low point, but they're getting back on track. Brave was quite the step up, and while not quite up to the standard set by other movies of theirs, I still enjoyed it immensely.

I love Pixar as they do they utmost focus on not just quality but to tell stories on the things that we look at as boring or uninteresting (for example [and a bad example indeed], Cars was focusing on the story of cars and how things change over time.)

Stuff like that makes you wonder why Disney acquired them back in the day. Besides, Disney isn't so much original in their stories.

Cars in general is their low point. To me, it's weak. I haven't seen Cars 2, and not interested in it.

I'll never forget the first time I watched Toy Story. I was absolutely blown away. Granted, I was only 4 when I saw it, but it was the first CG-animated movie I've seen, and it was beautiful. I remember the days back when I begged my parents to get me one of these bad boys:

42196076-300x300-0-0_Hasbro%2BDisney%2BToy%2BStory%2BDeluxe%2BElectronic%2BBuzz%2BLig.jpg

I had a Woody one as well. My favorite toys from my childhood, other than the Power Rangers toys. It was, is, and probably will always be my favorite movie of all time.

Over the years, I've made sure to watch as many of Pixar's movies as I can. The way the stories are written, the characters, the music (dat Randy Newman) ALWAYS seem to have captivated me. I also love how they still manage to throw in random cameos and secret stuff that a lot of people don't even notice, even after multiple watches.

I GREATLY enjoyed A Bug's Life, Monsters' Inc., The Incredibles, Wall-E, and Up. I actually liked Cars. Of course it wasn't as good as a lot of the other Pixar stuff, but it was still a solid movie that left me satisfied. The only ones I haven't seen yet are the latest ones, Cars 2 and Brave.

But no Pixar movie has touched me as much as Toy Story 3. Watching Toy Story 3 in theaters was definitely the most unforgettable of my cinematic experiences. That movie was so freakin' great, and it was a great trip down memory lane. All the nostalgia from watching the first and second ones all built up to that very moment, and I was definitely not disappointed. I thought that me getting older and more mature would have had a negative effect on me, but the movie still managed to impress me greatly. I almost broke down in tears during the end of the movie (but managed to hold it in since my dad and a bunch of kids were near me). My childhood hunger for a third Toy Story was satisfied. I walked out the theater smiling like a little kid who finally got the toy he wanted.

Looking forward, I'm admittedly a bit skeptical about some of these announced sequels (I kinda wish The Incredibles 2 was one of them...), but hopefully they'll find a way to work it out. Either way, I'm still going to watch them, as Pixar movies always make me feel like a happy kid again.

Oh yeah, that reminds me:

Anybody else wanted one of these as a kid?

Does anyone know what Pixar is working on?

Aside from Monster's U? They've confirmed The Good Dinosaur, which is about dinosaurs never having become extinct, a Day of the Dead movie, and a movie where a girl's emotions are represented as actual characters inside her mind.

There's also rumors of a Nemo sequel. Ehh. -.-

I saw that at a theater when they were showing Brave. I loved it!

Thanks for showing us this and making this thread, Felix!

I think Andrew Stanton confirmed it to be fake on his twitter... Someone posted it on the Movie thread... I don't know how to post this picture so here's the link to the thread. The twitter post in question is around the middle:

Thank god, Finding nemo wrapped itself up perfectly. It doesn't need a sequel.

And for the record, I still don't want an Incredibles sequel, for the same reason I don't want to see any more sequels to any of Pixars other movies at the moment. Why does everyone wanna see one so much, the constant asking for it is kinda getting on my nerves... /:

I've heard TS4 denounced as a rumor and joke by news reports and cast members alike. Are you sure it's a go?

I wouldn't want to see a Toy Story 4. 3 ended the series the right way. I wouldn't like to see it milk itself.

It's not really being made, but I heard it's on the back-burner for right now, and Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are signed on already if they decide to make a Toy Story 4.
