Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

You know, it's not entirely impossible that the PS3 will get 'Home' avatars and the Wii to get Miis, I don't think.

I think it's already been confirmed that there is no Mii support.

I remember someone saying the Wii version will have a neat extra the others won't. If there are no special characters and no Mii support I can't for the life of me think of what it could be. A stage maybe, hope it isn't something really lame.

I can't believe none of us have thought to check Rare's website

17/12/09: Banjo-Kazoomie

As you couldn't possibly have heard somewhere already, Banjo and Kazooie are back on the scene and back in the driving seat for their appearance in the upcoming Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing.

Being Xbox 360 natives nowadays you won't be surprised to find that they're exclusive to the 360 version of the game, even going so far as to score a cover spot and title mention: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie. Nice.

The bear and bird are of course old hands/paws/wings at this sort of thing, making their game debut way back in 1997's Diddy Kong Racing and getting back behind the wheel for both Banjo Pilot and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts in the intervening years. This time around they'll be competing in their custom-built Bolt Bucket vehicle against the likes of Sonic, Knuckles, AiAi, Amigo and a host of other unexpected petrolheads from big SEGA franchises.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing also features a second Rare connection with the inclusion of Avatars, which appear in fully playable form and can take part in races by jumping into the 'Avacar'. That's good. We like that.

So all in all the game promises masses of SEGA-themed racers and tracks, power-ups, unique All-Star moves and an exclusive helping of Honey Bear and Breegull – sounds good to us. Probably won't contain much platforming though, so don't ask. It's due out in early 2010 and you can find out plenty more at www.sega.com/sonicracing.

^you know what is so full of win regarding that article? Banjo-Kazoomie. That was the original name to Banjo Pilot.

Back to what I was getting at with the banner and boxart, NiktheGreek over at Sonic Retro summed it up pretty nicely for us:

"Another jarring thing about the X360 cover: Banjo seems to be a shit driver, given that his car is pointing in the wrong fucking direction. All the other racers (including Tails in the non-bastardised version) are taking the curve...

Just look at the facial expression! "Hurr hurr hurr..." *slam*"

I thought it was obvious that he found a shortcut. =O

Well now about 2 months from release, this is usually where games start picking up in news anyways.

There are two thing I don't understand:

1-At the end of the trailer it said: "Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing exclusive Characters ONLY for XBOX 360" But I heard each version would have an exclusive character.

And 2-Why does the Wii version not have Mii combatibilty yet on the 360 version, AVATARS are? They're technically the same thing. I don't really care anyways, but still.

Guys, there are like 2-3 new pics that nobody picked up regarding all this shit storm, and they are located on the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie product page on Xbox.com:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/s/sonicandsegaallstarsracing/

You need Silver Light to access them. For some strange reason, I cannot get Silver Light to install on my computer. Oh well.

I noticed a picture earlier (while watching the new trailer on my xbox) that showed Alex Kidd using his All-Star move for the first time, as far as I recall. They're available there, as well.

Guess the Xbox 360 version's getting an official name change in the U.S., the UK page is still labelled Sonic & SEGA Racing -

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80253450815/

The main page still labels it as Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing -

Those 4 new screens are pretty cool and the new opponent tracker in the HUD is cool.

The Alex Kidd using his All-Star move pic is old, I hope we get to see it being used in a video soon.

Though, with Banjo and Kazooie in the 360 version, it really sucks that Ratchet and Clank can't be in the PS3 version. Oh how I'd buy five copies if they were in the game. T_T I couldn't think of a better character.

I couldn't either. Ratchet and Clank > Banjo and Kazooie. :P

For the PC version, I'd like to see Guybrush Threepwood on one of the bumper cars from Monkey Island 2 and 3. Sumo Digital would forever earn my respect if they include this mighty pirate and his hoarde of three-headed monkeys as an all-star move.

Ah, I sit corrected, then.

Alex Kidd has never been a huge draw for me, though I can appreciate his inclusion. Not too surprised I somehow missed or disregarded a photo of his All-Star reveal.

Here's hoping that a new trailer comes with impending PS3/Wii news. One that shows off more All-Star moves, as well. I'm dying to see Big's in action.

HEY ALL! I finally got my time machine to work! I jumped ahead to March and picked up the game. Really fun! I can't try the XBLA features too much as hardly anybody owns it, though S0L and I played a game. He totally whooped my butt with Orta on the Shinobi track.

The next time you try to troll with something like that, try to not do it in the very same thread you said this:

HOT high rez! I'm totally printing it out and putting it in a 360 case, to pretend I have the game.

Anyways, I know you just did it to show us the result of your work, and it's quite awesome.. Also thank you for your awesome wallpaper :)

BTW Thanks for the screens NinMicroSega, I wonder who is the guy of the avatar...

EDIT: I'm talking about the screens not about TJ&E
