That Custom Vehicle comment is a cock-up by whoever does the Facebook page, I can absolutely confirm that the game doesn't support that feature, you'll be seeing that vanish shortly. I'll let AAUK double confirm this.

Beleive me, it would be a cool feature, but it'd take us another two years to add it!

Oh well... It would have been nice but I think a lot of us kinda knew it wouldn't happen due to character models and the like. Mind you, 1970s trousers.... That would take, oh about 5 min to install all what we need is a goat and firewood!

Don't think I'm allowed to comment on the Mii thing for a few more hours :P

Certainly no GameCube controller support in there. We did look into it after a load of requests on the official Sega forum, but it just doesn't fit into the way we do the controllers on the Wii (which is all nice and automatic, rather than reams of menu's).

So in other words, there will be Mii Support? :D Cool, I'm getting the 360 version, but I think its cool that you guys are doing that!

Too bad, that theres no GC controller support, but I'm sure the other methods are just fine.

By the way, can you say anything about the Wii Connect 24 stuff? The only things I can think of are a Channel like Mario Kart Wii's or maybe the game getting weather data from the region. :-/

Ah well, I was excited for the game even before that "feature" was announced. Perhaps that could be in SASAR2? ;)

There we go, that makes sense. Called it on that one.

It never ceases to amaze me how blatantly wrong a marketing team can be when presenting information through this sort of outlet. What DOES amaze me is how indifferent or incapable those teams usually are. Facebook pages are the kind of thing entertainment companies pass off to an intern-level hire in my experience, so that could be SOME sort of explanation (for their sake, I hope so)... but it doesn't make their misinformation any less of a tease to all the folks who got excited over the idea and will buy the game thinking it has that feature. Now everyone who follows that facebook page will be disappointed on SOME level about that non-existent feature's absence.

That's just cruel.

...Anyway, thanks for always clearing up these dangling concerns/questions for us, S0L. We appreciate you dropping some knowledge on us.

Looking forward to an impending Nintendo features reveal! HERE'S HOPING FOR AN EXCLUSIVE CHARACTER. (I'm aiming at the 360 version, myself, I just think that'd be fair and cool.)

Well, this is a shocker:

"One of the female racers wears a short skirt with a laser gun that clings to her thigh; she taunts opponents by gyrating her hips and blowing a kiss."

As seen at the ESRB.

Why aren't the 360 and DS versions there?

YESS!!! And the "chu chu" gun is still at her side. Blowing kisses too... classic.

Now what is her vehicle? Hover bike? Ooh! I hope Jaguar is her all-star move!

I'd love to see the vehicle from the Asteroid belt level (best level ever):

How you tease us with the Mii thing S0L

Look's like everyone, even Nintendo are making PR blunders with the GC Controller support thing.

Can you confirm anything about the other features the Nintendo Channel is listing?

Wii:
Wii Connect 24

DS:
2-6 players multiplayer (Will this be online too if indeed it's true the player count has been raised from 4 to 6?)
Single Card Download-play Multiplayer
Multi Card Multiplayer

Opponent vehicles usually spin out of control, pop up in the air, or fall off the racetrack when hit, though a vehicle does explode in a fiery burst during an introductory cutscene.

I don't recall seeing a fiery vehicle explosion in the CGI announcement trailer. Brand-spankin' new intro cutscene confirmed?

Why aren't the 360 and DS versions there?

DS rating is up.

A handful of cutscenes depict brief explosions from incoming missiles.

A handful? Multiple DS cutscenes confirmed!

I imagine the Xbox 360 version is being reviewed seperately by the ESRB due to some slightly different content with B-K. This should 100% put everyone's minds to rest on the other versions getting exclusive in-game content. The DS version would be reviewed seperately anyway as it's a portable title which is fairly different in-game.

Indeed consider this confirmation double underlined in red permanent marker, in this instance the SOA and SOE Community teams don't run the ASR Facebook page an agency does - the person concerned will be hunted down and beaten with Big's fishing rod as punishment.

Apoliges about that chaps.

Whats the deal with tssz? It's like a Sonic news site that reports on things other news sites have already reported on, but with a "THIS JUST IN BREAKING NEWS" attitude mixed with the scuzziness of TMZ. Also, it seems that the smallest message board post made here is always reworked into a "BREAKING NEWS" article.

Not flaming, just saying.

They've just announced the Mii's on SEGA of Americas official blog! At least we have some proper news to be happy about!

They look a bit odd to me, though I guess we can't really get much of a clear picture looking at the back of their heads. It does make me wonder. We now have Avatars... Mii's... surely Playstation Home characters might be next? They would look a bit odd in my opinion, but it would be fun to see!

As for the custom car stuff; it would be a cool addition, even if it's just customising the cars paint jobs and such, but it seems we've already got a heck of a lot of stuff to look forward to with this title anyway so no complaints here.

Have the Playstaion Home Avatars ever had something like this, though? I mean have they ever been usable in a game?

Cool on the Wii inclusion, but dear lord have my eyes been spoiled by the 360 screenshots.

Not as far as I know, mate. I'm sure it would be possible to use them in other games, but I think you're right. Can't recall any myself anyway. 8/

I still think it looks pretty good for a Wii title, but yeah, I second every word of that.
