I don't really want to have to buy the game online just get the preorder bonus, I much prefer to go and collect it, ensuring I get it day one.

For some reason I didn't notice the frame rate dips, maybe my eyes are worse than I thought they are (I have a damn powerful glasses prescription). Though I heard some random guys going on about how you can alleviate some of the frame rate issues by clearing the cache. It sort of makes sense, I suppose, I remember the BioShock patch having serious issues until you cleared the cache. I think they fixed that though, didn't they?
My Xbox 360 wasn't the only one, jerks.

News to me. Guess they didn't sell well enough (you know, due to the lack of six-axis-enabled games) to be around much.
They sell well enough to get prime space in various stores... Mind you... I would only use it for a driving game. Wouldn't dream of using it for any other game.

I also can't believe Mr Nash actually started discussion on cross dressing characters... Those long hours do funny things to those poor testers, you'd almost think they had started lusting after the female characters
I figure that deep down, everyone has a soft spot for Ulala. Why else would she keep popping up in these compilations when she could've been sidelined a la Nights? Her last full game was way back in 2002, after all...

Why did I read people complaining about there being only 9?

Really? How is it that all of the retailers that I have been to (Toys "R" Us, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, GameStop, Sears, Kmart, etc.), I have never seen these things stocked? Must be an online-only thing, or only sold through Sony Style.
He said 24 tracks.

The complaint was 9 Sonic tracks, all from Sonic Heroes.

Because you read wrong. People are complaining about the high number of Sonic tracks- 9 in total. No, that's wrong. People are complaining about the high number of Sonic Heroes tracks. 9 Heroes based tracks, set across only 3 stages. He said 24 tracks.

That's super dumb to complain about that though.

Okay, okay. So the areas are named after Heroes locations and the default music is from Heroes. But look at how much Sumo changed the Heroes locations to be more like a standard Sonic level. Seaside Hill is a 50/50 split of Green Hill Zone and Seaside Hill. Final Fortress looks to be a 60/40 split of any final stage and Final Fortress. The Casino tracks are a whole mess of casino objects, not just Casino Park. Once we see more of the Sonic tracks and have the option to change the music to a game other than Heroes, I'm sure the anger will die down.

Uh, they downloaded the demo on their computer, burned it to a DVD and have played it that way. It's another way around the whole issue of Gold-exclusive demos. It's safe too, as you don't need to mod your 360 to do so.Does anyone have any idea about this talk of a burned CD/DVD of the demo? Is that only for the press? If so, how did that other site get a copy?

Dur, I forgot about that. It's the same way you can update your 360 to the latest update to play original Xbox games.

The german game magazine "ComputerBildSpiele" (very popular in Germany, but contentswise rather on an average) has reviewed Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
The content of the review was rather fluffy, nothing new here.
Their opinion:
Good things:
+ popular characters
+ great designed tracks
+ creatively designed challenges
Not that good things:
- sometimes framerate problems
- split screen can get confusing
Conclusion: not as good as Mario Kart, but welcome. Great variety and nice tracks.
The mag uses german grades, where 1 is best and 6 is worst. I evaluated the estimated rating (perentage) in brackets.
PS3/XBox: 2,32 "good" (should be 82%)
Wii: 2,46 "good" (should be 80%)

I've never played as my avatar outside of a simple golf game. He (I?) has this little winter hat and these red gloves that I wish I myself had. I can't wait to see me (him?) racing alongside Sega characters!
