FIRST DS Footage

Not bad! It's sorta trippy watching that, as I know the track but the visuals are greatly lower in resolution. Like deja vu.

I got the same exact feeling playing it. @_@
Although the controls were a bit more slippery than the 360 version.

Thanks BlueHedgehog92!

Starting boosts let you speed under the other racers and make them do a 360 flip

Does the demo contain the multiple control scheme options S0L said is in this version?

Just gonna say that the car sound effects are too loud. Blocks out the awesome SSH midi.

The DS version looks good if not bare. Naturally the course is emptier, what I mean is that it's less active. Less action from the other racers.

Woh! I just realized that Jacky and Akira will look like their Saturn models when on the DS.

I was playing on easy when I recorded that. So I was always ahead.

The figure is only avaiable to people over 21 years old.

It was supposedly intended for 13 and older, but SEGA of America screwed up their coding yet again. At least it says you must be 13 or older in the rules. Oh well, I just said I was born in 1988 instead of 1989 to get past the stupid splash screen.

Why would you want to download and play it in an emulator, when you can download and play it for free via the Nintendo Channel. Mind boggles...

While I wholeheartedly agree with you, some people don't own the ENDENTDO DEE ESS. Also, knowing Nintendo, the demo will go down by next Monday to make way for "Brain Age X: This Time It's Cranial" and "Cooking Mama 3000: Space Kitchen."

ONM podcast discusses SASAR:

http://itunes.apple....ine/id343563623

their comments (and my comments):

"Predictably not as good as Mario Kart" (a$$holes)

"really wanted to see Space Channel 5 tracks" (same here)

"JSRF tracks aren't cel shaded" (who cares)

last (or most expensive) unlockable character is Opa Opa. They incorrectly called it "Phantasy Star" instead of "Fantasy Zone".

"Slightly disappointing." (Nintentards)

"Multiplayer is a bit rubbish" (dix)

"I hate Alex Kidd" (losers)

"If Mario Kart didn't exist, SASAR would be the best kart racer (ever)" (so you loved it?)

"It would be, if it weren't for Mario Kart, the best kart racer." (sounds like you guys really liked SASAR)

"Good solid fun." (okay, so you guys have said THREE times that you enjoyed it)

"Makes you realize how polished and how much detail goes into every element of Mario Kart" (I wish I owned Mario Kart... so I could chuck it into a wood chipper)

"All the while I was playing it, I was thinking 'I'd rather be playing Mario Kart'." (I am so glad I am not a Nintendo zombie)

"It's a BIG missed opportunity. The characters are not what I hoped for." (Baby Sonic and Baby Tails would have been better? What happened to the earlier comments of the game being "solid" and the "best kart racer"?)

Can't be bothered to listen to any more of this. Deleted the podcast from iTunes.

If that is all they are saying then they're not getting a download/listen count from me, I am REALLY sick of these Mario Kart comparisons/comments. Why cant people judge the game for what it is instead of keep bringing up Mario Kart? My head is at exploding point.

Yeah, don't bother downloading. I don't know how many guys are on the show (maybe three?) but it begins with one liking it and two hating it as they're biased Mario fans, and by the end the two haters get the third to backpaddle and hate the game as well.

I don't get how something can be called "solid fun" and "the best kart racer ever" aside from Mario Kart, and yet in the end it's "rubbish", "disappointing" and features a roster of characters that is a "BIG disappointment". Surly these guys aren't thinking "I wish Shinobi, Daytona USA and OutRun were racers" so I have no idea what they were hoping for. Perhaps living in the Nintendo bubble caused them to fail to see the brilliance of characters like Alex Kidd, Bonanza Bros, Ryo, Jacky, B.D.Joe etc.

According to people who bought the new issue that came out Friday their review is filled with comments comparing it to Mario Kart too so I havent bothered buying the mag. How can they say the character roster is a BIG disapointment? Its alot more diverse than the character roster in any Mario Kart game, at least we havent got baby versions of characters as you said earlier Doctor Eggman. Steve even travelled to SEGA HQ in Japan to get more obscure SEGA characters in to satisfy the fans out there. Lets hope other media will review it properly.

Well if a biased magazine like ONM is saying the game is pretty good (in a passive aggressive way) then hopefully SASASR will receive more positive reviews on the consoles that don't have the "best kart racer ever" Crash Team Racing Mario Kart.

So it seems most places are saying it's good but not quite as good as Mario Kart? Do they mean the series overall or MKWii? Because MKWii is a weak entry in the series IMO. Mostly because my favorite part of the game (battle mode) was COMPLETE SHIT. If SASASR has a battle mode at least equal to any MK before MKWii then I'll be happy.

Come on S0L, tell us a little about battle mode already. :(
