"Right, you're talking shit! Explain yourself!" -Ricky Gervais

The Ricky Gervais Show is an animated adaptation of the pocast series of the same name. Debuting in 2010 the show looks into the many "pointless conversations" shared between Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.

Despite ricky gervais being the titular star the show mainly consists of Karl talking about a particular subject which usually ends up going off-topic into situations Karl finds himself in daily. Ricky and Steve are always quick to point out just how insane Karl's stories are. such highlights include Karl assembling a whole bed only to realise there's no matress, Karl going to meet his girlfriend at the supermarket only to find out she's in a different one to the one he's in and getting into a bathroom fight over a girl...at age 3.

The series has aired 39 episodes across 3 series the last of which just aired on E4 tonight in the UK. Currently there are no plans for a series four though Gervais has said that it could happen one day but certainly it's the end for now.

There are simply too many highlights to list here so discuss anything and everything about the show below.

I've heard of this show before, but I've never watched it, but I love Ricky Gervais and I think he's fucking hilarious, so I need to give this show a shot one day.

Certainly should, the show has a charm you won't find anywhere else.

This is one of the funniest shows I've seen recently. It's such a great idea, but don't be fooled by the title- Karl Pilkington is the real star here.

I mean, the shit this guy says.

He has such an odd way of thinking. You can tell he's a very smart guy, but he just has the most odd ways of viewing the world. Ricky and Steve are both great comedic minds as well, but you never get the feeling that Karl is trying to be funny.

Instead of going on describing, I think I'll just show you guys a clip that culminates in one of the best quotes of our time.

I see the adverts for this on E4 pretty often during the time periods that it airs and it always looks completely unfunny to me. Seems to just be the Karl saying "omg lol so randum XD" things and then Ricky and Steve laughing far too much at it as if the audience might need some help doing it.

And uhh... that raw clip posted there didn't do much to avert this impression I got. =U

Also the fact that they near constantly have that Dreamworks one-eyebrow-up smirky face the entire time doesn't help considering it is the most infuriating facial expression ever and makes them all look like unlikeable douches.

(Bare in mind though that I hardly ever find Ricky Gervais funny in anything though, which is a shame because he's a very intelligent man by the amount of agreeable quotes and stuff I see him post about important issues on twitter etc).

I do love The Ricky Gervais Show! The discussions are hilarious, the animation's quite charming, and I find Ricky's laughter quite infectious! XD
