That you aren't yet allowed to advertise in the marketplace doesn't mean you're free to advertise wherever you please. if you're that desperate, stick it in your sig and make posts that contribute to the board.

It's not so much a matter of desperation as it is an unwillingness to stick to the rules. I am not selling here, just bringing it to the attention of anyone who is interested. Patience is not a common trait among Sonic fans, amiright?

If you're only here to sell, it won't bode well with many on here. You would be better off leaving it on ebay or pointing it out in a status update that something's up for sale (though I don't think that might not always be good either).

I realize my mistake making this kind of an entrance to SSMB; I get the impression that the forum members aren't the welcoming kind. I often find myself on Sonic Stadium to check out what's new in the world of Sonic. I've always been a fan, but forums always scare me off.

Don't sweat it, you aren't in trouble and people here are most definitely the welcoming welcoming kind. The impression I got out of other members myself was that many signed up only to sell stuff and didn't do much else.

If you really want to sell, just earn your way to it and you'll be welcomed either way.

If your only reason for joining our community is to advertise your radically overpriced merchandise, then no, I wouldn't expect an especially warm welcome.

I am new to the forums and also aware that I cannot post to the marketplace immediately, but I wanted to bring attention to the fact that I have some Sonic goodies for sale on eBay

This kind of topic is exactly the reason why that rule exists.
