Hello and welcome to the Recommendation Thread.
We all know that the Sonic fanbase is very large and all of us are very talented. We often do many things related to Sonic and we often find other people's works that we like. Some of them are underrated or just not know well enough to the public. This thread is for us to share these type of games, music, animations, art that we know to others so that people can keep up as I myself have been lost in the area of hacks and fangames which I actually love.
I'll start off with a slightly well-known hack: Sonic Omochao Edition.
Yes, to those who know this, we all know the time we spent raging.
I actually think that as much rage as this game can give, it feels very rewarding to even complete Green Hill Act 1 and I love that feeling. It pokes fun very well at the character we all love to hate. Even though many of us have put down the game at Act 1 or 2 of Green Hill, when you look back at it, you have an amazing time looking back at how you raged when you first played this hack.

I wonder why this doesn't get more views. It's quite well done.
I might post more fan works later on.

The following blog:

It takes aspects from many versions of Eggman and rolls it all up into one hilarious package.

You've heard me go on about Sonic Megamix, and Sonic 2 retro remix, Now for something I found more recently.
Sonic Mecha madness.
Sonic is super fast in this game and loads and loads of moves, he has a a boost, spindash, an equivalent of the peel-out (it's true you don't technically need all of these, but it nice to have the choice) a bounce move, a homing attack and various moves from brawl.
I'm not really a fan of all the many different forms Sonic can have, but generally it isn't pushed down your throat.
Sonic may a appear overpowered at first, but the robots are tough, they have high health, once you're in their sights they chase you down, and can do so for quite some distance, their reactions are fast and so is their ammunition.
The player takes time finishing the robots off, which takes a few hits, this increases the xp but things are fine if you don't do this( especially since you probably get Xp for good times as well, though I forgot as to whether you do).
Sonic Mecha madness is only in demo right now.
I'd also recommend Sonic Bastardised, a gag dub that is actually pretty funny.
Yes it makes fun of Jason Griffith, and it was made in 2008 no less, but it's pretty mild, not too harsh by any means. (Jason also turns out 'good in the end'.)
