New Sonic FanGame?
Posted 12 August 2012 - 07:02 PM
I don't know if I'm the only one to think this but I don't know about you guys but I HATE waiting for the next upcoming Sonic Game. I also love playing some of the fan games people designs or mods people do on the side line waiting for the new upcoming amazing Sonic game (excluding Sonic 2006). Anyways, to get to the point I'm designing a Fan Made Sonic Game. I haven't decided on a name yet, but this won't be one of those cheesy sprite-gameboy advance looking games. I'm maxing out this game to full compacity of the game engine to make this game a full fledge sonic game for the fans. Obviously I can't charge money or what not, which is fine because I enjoy making games for fun, so this game will be free. So far its just me making the game. The engine I'm using to design it is Unity Pro. Before I start getting hate or people saying this game won't pull through I will post some pictures of it aswell, but please note that this is the very early stages of it.

Also, the life bar is a bit wanky.

Didn't a moderator lock the original topic because they don't allow recruitment topics?
Though I'm not getting a recruitment vibe, I think this is just to show off his project. Recruiting doesn't seem to be the focus of the thread.

By early build this is only in 1 month of developing.
Textures are weak as we speak and some of the GUI textures (life) are messed up and I'm going to re code it when I have the time.
Gameplay I'm not real sure I have ideas.. I am going to introduce new stuff and hopefully will be able to introduce new characters and debating on actually building a story. My goal is to make a one world environment but doing that it will make the users require a decent computer. The level size is big enough to make Sonic take over 30 minutes to get to the other side but not including the sprint speed, so I myself think the level is wayyyy too small and I really don't want to design multiple levels but who knows. Goal is to make a free roam sonic game but include scenes from my favorite sonic locations.
Honestly it's a stretch but with hard work I think this project can be done.
