You'd sell 5 copies to actual fans of Silver, 3 to Sonic fans curious enough to give it a shot, and 20 to people who want to know just how hard it crashes and burns.

So no, not a good idea. Silver does not have anywhere near the popularity for it. And he doesn't even have a well-defined gameplay style yet.

Or do you mean a Silver game? In which case, I don't really want one. I don't think it would go over well at ALL with the fanbase, and I personally don't think Silver is good enough as a character for his own game. So no.

While I say Sega should go for it, if they can make a physics platforming game right. But then again a lot of people will bitch about it though, it will be Silver fans vs Sonic only fans and possibly critics.

Yeah let's not make Silver into Shadow 2.0.

Are you talking about a Silver the hedgehog game OP? If so then they really shouldn't bother, Silver doesn't have enough fans to ensure that his game would make it's money back and then some.

I'd rather not.... One, if they do make a Silver the Hedgehog, it wouldn't be good for Sega financially given Silver's popularity, two, Sega can expect a lot of backlash.

How could they make the gameplay challenging for Silver? How about a prequel of how Silver gains his telekinesis abilities and how he is able to fly?

Yes, let's make a game for the character with the most undefined role and undefined gameplay and give him a game, surely that will go over well with the masses, and totally not bomb at all, no siree.

For fans of Silver, I guess it would be fine. Just polish the gameplay out, and give him new interesting powers, and a level up system, like the one in Unleashed. For people like myself, who aren't a fan of Silver, no. Silver is a weak character, and the terrible start for me, buried him into the ground.
So, I don't want a game with a whiny bitch as the hero. I think that's been done a few times.

Should they make a game? No. There's no financial benefit to doing so.

If there were, would I mind it? Not at all. For one, I like Silver and his character potentialities, so I wouldn't mind seeing that play out across his own game where the problems can be explored fully with the whole "spotlight stealer" nonsense getting in the way.

^ Also, I find that the word "whiny" belongs in that pile of words with "emo" "Gary Stu" and "whore;" meaningless descriptors only meant to deride a character one doesn't like; words that should be burned.

I'm going to have to echo previous posts and state that this would be financially inadvisable, and that is putting it lightly.
@Nepenthe: 'Overused', as opposed to entirely meaningless. Although in the grand scheme of things, such terms do get misused.

I've never heard the words "emo," "Gary Stu," "whore," or "whiny" used with any actual merit when describing the Sonic characters they're most often applied to. Now, is it possible that there is some decently-reasoned argument on livejournal or somewhere that describes exactly how Shadow's introverted demeanor is compatible with emo or why our complete lack of knowledge into Rouge's sexual life means she is, in fact, a whore? Of course! But I haven't read 'em. So in light of the lack of evidence, I just make the assumption that they're generic insults not meant to be indicative of any knowledge of the characters' personalities. =P

I actually wouldn't mind... Then again, I'm a Silver fan, so I'm the minority in this.

I like silver....but not enough to buy a stand alone game. I'd much rather see him in Sonic Rush 3, (If it ever gets made) as, lets say, Eggman invents a dimensional transport machine, and manages to transports part of the Sol Dimension (the part with the Sol emeralds, of course) over...lets say, Soleanna. This in turn, ruins the future, since Soleanna can't evolve into, lets say, Crystal City. Silver goes back in time to find the cause for this, and fix it. Here's the catch. That part of the Sol Dimension stays on Sonic's Dimension, which in turn, Completely Ruins Crystal City, turning it into a Tropical Wasteland. Silver, not being able to return home, stays in Sonic's Dimension, living on the islands of the Sol Dimension that Blaze and Marine also now live on. If it follows that plot I'll buy rush 3 for sure

@Nepenthe: Oh yeah, they have become incredibly generic terms to describe characters, even those that the person who is making the insult has little experience with. I'm not speaking specifically about the Sonic fandom either, but they do seem quite guilty on the whole of things like this. Regardless, I'm sure that someone, somewhere will have used those words in the correct contexts.

I suppose of they needed a quick fix, his powers would be suited to a Kinect title. If they do that though, it'd have to be "watered down" so to speak to make it friendly for a casual audience. They could also aim for a kind of puzzle type platformer on the handhelds, or even android devices/digital console downloads.

A full fledged console release is probably a bad idea from a financial sense though. The idea here would be to have something low budget in order to make a quick buck to help fund the next big project.
