If I can say that there's anything I like about it is Mad Gear, Metal Sonic's theme, Sky Fortress Act 2, and Sylvania Castle Act 3. That's pretty much all (Act 3's music especially).
Episode 2's game play is a slight improvement in terms of game play itself, though when you're Super Sonic...our hero has episode 1's questionable physics...which is not the best thing...and never was.

The classics were more original/creative with there levels, had catchy music and had a great balance of speed and platforming. And no Boost pads everywhere. Speed was a reward.

I would agree if a lot of them weren't over bottomless pits. The bubbles chains weren't even bad. It lets Sonic access higher areas like Tails and Knuckles could in Sonic 3, it's an improvement.

Continuing off why this game is not up their with the classics lets begin. The level design is pretty bad. The game basically is made up of Boost pads and homing chains. And when your not doing that, your in pretty generic to nonexistent platforming. When the platforming decides to actually pose as a threat, it becomes pretty cheap and Sonic's controls don't help at all.
The Music. If Splash hill zone sounds pleasant and enjoyable to you, then you should listen to some Generations and get fixed. I mean the music is mostly synched chords, which in E1 mainly, Sounds annoying as all hell. It doesn't help that the music loops after like 30 seconds. The best song to come out of it to me is Flying Fortress and even then it's pretty annoying.
The graphics. There okay I guess. At least to some degree. Most of the zones in E1 look plasticy and Lazy cheep. E2 made a huge jump, but Still not what I expected. After Generations, There is no way people would like S4 over Generations HD.
The overall feel of sonic is also pretty broken. He feels floaty, the rolling and uncurling is bothersome and the Physics are also garbage.

I SMELL SOME BIAS HERE.
But really, Sonic 4 isn't better than the classics in any way, shape, or form.

Sonic 4 somehow runs full speed, has better controls, allows me to pick my levels, and has a good save system. I know, a surprise.

I sure as hell hope so.Am I the only one who thinks Sonic 4 is better than the classics?
Y'know what would be a nice way to give Sonic some extra vertical movement? The bubbles chains weren't even bad. It lets Sonic access higher areas like Tails and Knuckles could in Sonic 3, it's an improvement.
ANYTHING ELSE
Seriously. Walljump, double jump, air dash, even a version of the homing attack that's not functionally identical to the one in a 3D game from over a decade ago. Sonic 4 is basically a pile of broken-ass mechanics, broken either because they have no idea how they're supposed to work (anything that's supposed to be classic) or because they're mindlessly reusing something that's already old and busted (the homing attack).

GOSH. I'm not 100% sure but I think this member posting behind a proxy using a disposable email address might be a troll.
Not sure though.
But maybe.
