I’m going to take those comments as jokes, mostly like how my photoshopping was a joke in the first place, but there’s still a serious point underlying all the kidding.

I shouldn't have to explain why it's not a good thing to have NSFW images on this board. Or even borderline NSFW images. For better or for worse, most of our demographic is underage. We are a Sonic The Hedgehog fan forum, and I don’t think it’s too much an ask to have a fan forum of a very, very family friendly franchise be safe to browse without being accosted by anime T&A.

I don’t even particularly care about anime titty personally; It’s all about the image of the board. You’ll be hard pressed to find a big forum that is okay with buxom anime breasts being posted everywhere, Sonic or no. SSMB is a safe for work forum- and I’d like to browse it in public without getting weird looks.

The entire staff team agrees with me- If you really want to look at ecchi images there are plenty of places on the internet other that SSMB that I am sure will facilitate you. Such as the one I pulled the following pics from, for our handy guide!

Holy boobs! Despite your impression, this is OK! Yea she's busty or whatever but it's not suggesstive. her posture is relaxed and not proactive, and despite her clothing there is little to no smut factor. Just a cute pic. Yay summer! I'd consider this unacceptable during winter though.

Yeah she's wearing a bikini, but the important thing is she isn't overtly sexualised. It's still not great but there isn't anything wrong with it. The bike is more the focus, rather then some close up shot of her ass.

People walking past aren't going to see that I've wrote the word fuck in this sentance but they are going to notice the cute picture of a puppy I've attached. There is a difference between harsh language within a wall of text (no biggie) and giant honking titties being on your screen (embarassing)

If you really wanted the mods to get rid of all the fun on the forum we could almost certainly add a word filter and get rid of all debating. Disrespect in the status feed is indeed an issue, and one we are working forward to try and combat. if you ever feel threatened or disrespected in the status updates, don't hesitate to contact a mod.

What I really adore about a privately owned board is that we get to dictate what is and isn't allowed on the forums. Swearing is okay. Smut is not. Eroticism, implied or otherwise, is simply not allowed here and has been banned for years, and your pic Soniko raised a few alarms with us and we have been discussing up to this point on what to do with it. I don't know why you seem to think that the issues of NSFW material exist in some sort of vacuum, because it doesn't. There is no single categorization consisting of one form of inappropriate material. Words =/= Imagery.

This is part of the reason why the Trigger Warning fad is so prevalent nowadays because people have to emphasize that some people will get offended by a certain type of written material, not the fact that it uses cursewords but because it has to do with a certain topic of debate people don't want to be around. We've banned quite a few for this reason alone; suicide topics most notably. But that's an entirely different kettle of fish to fry and it all has to do with what contextual and prevalent issues in society and communities bring to the bigger picture.

Besides I don't see anyone here actually mentioning "child-friendly" environment but you. Underage doesn't mean it's tailored for kids.
