I picked "Born To Fly". It had more of a down to earth feel than the other two, which I liked.

OH CELESTIA THEY ALL SOUND AMAZING I CAN'T CHOOSE

But having the fans decide upon how Rainbow Dash canonically got her Cutie Mark? Gee golly jeepers, that's actually some pretty freaking awesome community interaction right there! Also, seeing as all the episodes from season 1 have already been produced, I certainly hope to see the alternate endings on the DVD/Blu-Ray set!

EDIT: ...I could easily see Rainbow Dash lying to the CMC as to how she obtained it, so I'm a tad inclined to vote for "Dash of Lightning", but still horribly divided on the matter. Also, Fluttershy is from Cloudsdale?

I think all the Pegasus ponies are... or did I misunderstand that in "Sonic Rainboom"?

Voted for "Born to Fly". The other two just didn't appeal to me as much. Plus, I think the episode with the Sonic Rainboom should be the first time she was able to do it.

My memory's hideously bad, but didn't she explicitly say in that episode that she'd done it once before?

Had to go with "Sonic Rainbow", it's the most simple/clichéd story but it makes sense as it was alluded to in a previous (and personal favorite) episode. "Born to Fly" sounds pretty good too though, if only to see Rainbow Dash's parents. Not really liking "Dash of Lightning" though, sounds a bit overly convoluted just to get a cutie mark.

WAIT ONE APLLEBUCKING SECOND HERE

Herpedy derpedy derp. Horrible memory lapse, I had there. After looking the voting page over a few times, and re-watching "Call of the Cutie", I have come to realize that nowhere on this page does it say that your vote will influence what is aired on the upcoming episode, and that Rainbow Dash already specified how she got it.

Rainbow Dash: Hey! Who are you going to listen to - Applejack, or the pony who was first in her class to get a cutie mark? I always liked flying and all, but I was going nowhere in a hurry. It wasn't until my very first race that I discovered a serious need for speed, and ka-zam! This sweet baby appeared as fast as lightning!

...the amount of foreshadowing in this show is ridiculous.

From the looks of things, it seems that this voting game is nothing further than "what possible scenario out of the 3 is your favorite?" poll that has no effect on what ending will air next week, as what Rainbow Dash already described sounds a whole lot like the story told in the "Sonic Rainbow" option.

So, Fluttershy went to the same school as Rainbow Dash eh? Awesome! Can't wait to see more of Cloudsdale, and hopefully a Young Gilda alongside other members of the Junior Speedster Flight Camp!

Oh. I only ever saw the end of that episode, so I didn't know that. Never mind, then.

Just watched the last episode. It was a bit weak compared to the last one; It wasn't bad, but the rest of the episode couldn't live up to the scenes during the party with Pinkie Pie and Rarity. But it was good to see Celestia finally get some substantial screen time. That, and it had some of the best facial expressions in the show yet.

A Fluttershy episode AND it features
Spoiler

But I really did enjoy this one. And it was possibly Twilight's best performance thus far. She's kind of been a background character for the most part ever since episode one despite being the lead. Good to see her given some more comedy to her character.

And Rarity continues to be awesome with her limited role in this one during the party. She never fails to make me laugh.

^I still think Twilight was best in Pinkie Keen. Her intellect was actually challenged by something, giving her character some development while still having her at the butt of old-fashioned Tex Avery slapstick.

I'm surprised that we got another not-quite-Benny Hill sequence.

The beginning of the episode was definitely the strongest part for me. The gags were pretty good, especially the one with Mr. and Mrs. Cake refilling Celestia's tea, and it was good to see Celestia herself get some screentime and a chance to express herself a bit. I know the whole point of her character is that she can't regularly participate in the action, but considering that she's part of the framing device for the entire show, it'd be nice to know a little more about her.

The rest of the episode was okay, but not great. The range of facial expressions was definitely better than usual, which bolstered everything subtly, but the dilemma was old as dirt. It was nice to see Twilight take the lead again for the first time in a while, though.

Wow, so much to talk about in this one, definitely one of the better episodes so far imo. My only gripe is that the plot was extremely predictable. The moment I saw the empty bird cage I knew exactly how the episode would end aside from the phoenix thing( I thought it would just be some rare foreign bird that's naturally supposed to look dumb and sickly).

I like that we finally get to see more of Celestia interacting with the characters, hopefully there will be more of that next week.

And yeah, I "Dawwed :(" out loud when Fluttershy caught the bird ashes, she just looked so heart broken. @^@

Also does anyponybody else think Celestia might actually be ruthless dictator? I mean Mr./Mrs. Cake were tending to her every whim like their lives depended on it. Even Twilight, the character closest to her, thought Celestia would disown and sentence her to exile.

I doubt it. They're probably just nervous because she's royalty and they don't know her all that well personally. Still, it's fun to think she's actually a ruthless despot who puts on a benevolent air when interacting directly with the citizenry.

A lot of the more morbid fans have made fanfic and fanart that shows her as a dictator, but obviously that's non-canon. I think that the ponies love their Princess so much that they go overboard. Celestria looked very uncomfortable with all the tea she had to drink. I wouldn't be suprised if she had a caffeine freakout in private. (I'd love to see that.)

I think that's one of my favorite things about Twilight, that even though she is someone who follows everything according logic (dare I say "scientifically") she has a very vivid imagination about the silliest things. Granted, her number one priority is to please Celestia, her teacher and idol, in any and every way possible, but to think she actually believes Celestia would do those things is hilarious.
