      Hello! You might have noticed that this place has changed a little bit since you last saw it. Welcome to the Sonic Stadium Message Board - 2015 Edition! The moderators, Bmn and myself have been working really hard these last few weeks to make sure the upgrade from IPB 3 to IPB4 was as seamless as possible, whilst also taking the opportunity to update the look and feel of The Sonic Stadium in a modern way. So there are a whole bunch of technical things that have changed, as well as cosmetic changes that relate to how the forum works. You'll see your username above the main content area: click that and a dropdown menu will appear containing most of the options you need to work your profile. Next to your username are a bunch of quick icons that take you to Notifications and Direct Messages. In the blue bar underneath the header, you'll see an 'SSMB' link on the far right (next to the search button), hover your mouse over that and you'll see different sections of the forum, like Calendar and Forum Staff pages etc. Posting replies is simpler than ever, and a lot of the bugs that have been prevalent in the forum this past year have been squashed. (Needless to say though, that if you're seeing anything that's a bit wonky, do post in the Member Feedback/Bug Reports forum, as it will help us troubleshoot stuff!) The cosmetic changes are part and parcel of a wider initiative by myself to reinvent The Sonic Stadium in 2015. Did you know that this plucky little website will be 15 years old in October? It's been through an awful lot, and with the changing habits of forum goers and website readers alike I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to present the site (and forum) in a way that makes sense for everyone in today's era. That's why you see a chop-and-change of some of the forum listings on the homepage - SSMB has been re-organised so that discussion is at the top of the list, and the more popular forums are front and center so you can access them much more easily. Needless to say, SSMB's butterfly change into this current form is a prelude to what will soon happen on The Sonic Stadium itself, later this year - a lot more housecleaning is needed on the main site yet, before I can fully unleash the revamped design. Either way, I hope you like this new look and functionality, and are looking forward to what's coming soon! As this is brand new forum software, there will naturally be some elements that haven't crossed over to this new SSMB immediately - namely Badges. We are working hard to get these back, don't worry. They're not lost forever! We're working on a way of getting them back to you.  Stay tuned on that front! You can comment on this news in the topics situated in the Announcements forum, here.

I thought I'd just make a quick post about this. Normally I prepare a whole bunch of something to celebrate the site's birthday, but with things in my personal life a bit out of sorts right now I've not really had the chance.

 

BUT. Let's celebrate anyway. Today is TSS' 13th birthday. It was on this day, 13 years ago, when I launched the original website on an Angelfire.com account... and was using catchphrases like 'Stay ICE'... and... and, God, I feel really old today.

 

We're using this topic as a catch-all for whatever you want to do to celebrate the site as it enters its grumpy teenage years. Do whatever you like - write Happy Birthday, make a video, draw something, record an audio... thing? Whatever you feel like doing. Just know that no matter how crazy you are in celebrating the site's age, I still think you're all very special people. :P (in a good way, btw).

I remember when I started lurking this site just before the 10th anniversary, during all the Colours hype. Can't believe it's been 3 years already since I've known this place.

 

It's been crazy as hell, but I'm happy to be here, talking with my fellow Sonic fans, and just having a damn good time.

 

Happy Birthday, SSMB! May we continue throttling each other's throats for many more years to come!

even though ive only been here since last year im happy that this sight has been up for 13 years and im glad i joined it, there are alot of great people here and this is probably the best forum ive ever joined so I hope for even more great years.

Technically I still have ways to contact the masterminds behind the whole SoniClans setup, but I'm not sure they'd be game for that again. tongue.png

I've been working a something to celebrate Sonic Stadiums 13 Birthday for several months now. I had no idea we where gonna do something like this.

Unfortunately it's still not finished, I uploaded how it currently looks in my showcase thread. 

 

I'm almost done, so I hope my picture can be a part of this. It may take me a couple more weeks to complete though...especially as I've managed to hurt myself in doing this project somehow. ^^;

Good gosh, 13 years? You could say that this website has reached the age where it's almost "ancient", by the Internet standards!

Well, what can I say, though? From Green Hills to City Escapes, from Seaside Hills to Terminal Velocities....Happy Birthday, Sonic Stadium!

Happy 13th, SSMB. Been here since 2005, when I was 12.. what a time for me to join. LOL

Really glad this place never went the way of the dodo. SSMB is probably the only forum I feel most comfortable talking about this series with, since people seem to have a variety in interests regarding Sonic, and you can find your groups on everything. It makes for a good community, with good men and women all up in this.

I only joined this year, but it already feels like I've been here 13 years.

While that was a bit of an exaggeration [okay, a big one], for this site to have been running thirteen years is impressive, and shows support for our spiny blue friend.

 

May this site carry on for as long as Sonic stays with us [and beyond, as a tribute].

Twas a new era of Sonic for a new millennium. Before long, the site had given birth to the world's second and most well-known Sonic convention, while also remaining a shining beacon of community news and interaction...

Happy 13th, SSMB! Since the site's technically been prepubescent all this time and has still achieved so much, I can only imagine what will come in the following "teenage" years! smile.png

Bad jokes aside, congrats to the TSS staff for keeping it running for so long. It takes dedication to not abandon projects like this, even without SoS adding to the collective length of one's gray hairs.

I remember the first time I found this site I was looking for information on SA2, I think.  That was over a decade ago.  Sometime in 2001/2002ish?  Oh, nostalgia. =(

 

I didn't join SSMB until 2005 and even then, I was largely off and on for awhile due largely to both my forgetting I had an account and because I was working on other things at the time.  At least one of those problems has been remedied. =P  Anyway, glad to have been here, rather on the main site or the message board, for these thirteen years.  It's been...

I happened upon SSMB when SZF began impaling itself on a rusty iron gate. That was in 2005-ish? Oh, the days of constant bannings, vile bitterness against Shadow, and Roarz being a terrifying force of nature. Thems were the days, I tell you hwhat. But 13 years, though. That deserves some kind of medal. Happy Birthday! x3

You young people with your wisps are all the same! You march around YOUNG! Touch all the emeralds! In my day, we didn't get rewards for all the emeralds except for bouncy flowers! We considered ourselves lucky, and we were!
