Wow! Didn't see this coming! Yup! The crossover you never asked for, but you are REALLY interested after seeing it is coming soon! So -- wait a minute... Maybe that was a bit broad. More people could have been looking forward to this for all I know... There are plenty of Dynasty Warrior fans out there! And afterall, we all have certain crossover we all wished to be made. I mean, I'm not much of a Pokemon fan, but I'm mentally begging for Nintendo to talk with Capcom to make Pokemon x Monster Hunter for a while now. And I don't care what anyone says, Metroid x Megaman would rock! Yeah they can scream in opposition all they want, I think it would be great! Jumpin', shootin' and backtrackin', hellz yeah! Reminds me of the time I got lost in that hedge maze with a only a super soaker in hand. Ha! Oh man, I was literally stuck in there for fifteen minutes! At the end I was finally found by somebody! Then I thank them by shooting them in the face. They probably had pink eye, and man those were good times!  Good times... But yeah, collabs! Always interested when they are first announced! Like Marvel vs Capcooooooooom... Andandand and Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! Man, I wish that they would announce a release date for that game already. Feels like I've been waiting on that game for-ev-VAH! Who knew that being a professor or a lawyer would be so much fun. Should I be a lawyer? Maybe I should be a professor...? I got it! Don't back out just yet! I was just messing around, okay?! I'm getting to the point! Jeez... Anyway, Hyrule Warriors was definitely something I wasn't expecting anytime soon. Or in any year soon, for that matter... But after looking at it, I think that this could be something awesome! (And for those that didn't see this at the Direct, this isn't Zelda WiiU. It's a spin-off being developed by TecmoxKoei.)

 

It's an over the top Dynasty Warriors game set in the Legend of Zelda universe. I'm not much of a fan of the Dynasty Warriors games -- mostly because of how repetitive the games look -- but this definitely caught my eye. It looks fast, chaotic and VERY combo friendly! And with moments like Link opening the treasure chest, I sure this game will have plenty Zelda moments to keep it from straying too far away, but not completely since this is a spin-off.

 

I like the look of blue-scarf Link and his awesome blue scarf. But that Hyrule field kind of bug me a bit. It look sort of bland to me. I won't hold it against the game now, since it's still seems to be in early in development, but I hope they make it look a bit better for the final project. And while we love the stories in Zelda titles. I'm not getting my hope ups for something deep here. At the most, I'm expecting just something to get us from point A to point B. Just enough to keep us engaged and that's it. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but we'll see!

 

That's all I can say about it at the moment. Not much was revealed about this game. Heck, the official press release of the game was simply Nintendo telling you to look at the trailer and that's it's coming in 2014! So I guess all we do right now is look at the trailer and speculate on what's to come. Which gets me thinking... The Dynasty Warriors games usually allow you to play as multiple characters and often have multi-player. Will we be able to play as characters other than Link in this? If not, I wouldn't be surprise if we get a four swords style multi-player, at least. I'm as sure of this as I'm sure I will be a Professlawyer! ...Which means I'm not sure at all.

 

So yeah! Hyrule Warriors! Coming in 2014!

I'm seriously hyped for this game. I immensely enjoyed Dynasty Warriors Gundam, so it's probably safe to say that this crossover will be just as good. Been waiting for some super stylish Zelda action shit for awhile now. All the possibilities of playable characters as well just make me excited as hell for this. 2014 is going to look like a goddamn good year.

My only issue is that it might get a touch repetitive if your facing the same enemies over and over again.

Well, I was always hoping for a Legend of Zelda spinoff RPG, but this looks like a good alternate. I know nothing about Dynasty Warriors, but that looks AWESOME. Maybe a tad bit more on the toonish side than I'd like, but not nearly as bad as Skyward Sword or Wind Waker.

Zelda's been a much more varied character over the years than Link has. Link's got some shoulder armour and a cape here, so I can't imagine it'd be too out of line to give Zelda a spear or something. She certainly makes more sense commanding an army than Link does~

Easily, I think, considering they've already shown the option to have Link go all magic warrior with the fire rod.

That's something that really interests me, actually; seeing weapons besides the sword and shield get upgraded to main weapon status. Since the fire rod's in, the ice rod has a chance...maybe the megaton hammer?

Absolutely stoked for this; me and my uncle were hoping that the Monster Hunter team would actually get a shot with the Zelda series and make really deep and engaging uses of all the items across the franchise, but I think this could very well be the next best thing. Though...

 

 

... if that thing doesn't make it in now that there's a chance to bowl over entire hordes with it or even fly off bits of the landscape, my ass is going to be very sore.

Im loving the look of this so far, it seems to have a pretty intense focus on links fighting abilities and that scarf just makes him look dozens times cooler.
