It's been around for a while, but Ubisoft has made a free to play IP called Mighty Quest for Epic Loot. It's a game where players raid other people's castles but just like everyone else, must set up defenses to protect their castle from being raided.
 
Like any free to play games, it has annoying micro-transactions. But if you can happen to tolerate them, then this is a good game.
