I didn't do shit, thank Remy for noticing Indigo's suggestion and bringing it up with the staff. He would've made the topic himself but had to leave in a hurry.

Er.. *ahem* Thanks. smile.png

So, in case you guys weren't aware already, Club Nintendo has some new games available for their rewards catalog!

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Club-Nintendo-Rewards-April-Include-Super-Mario-World-Art-Academy-63278.html

Including Super Mario World for a measly 200 coins:

If you don't have it already, now's a good time to get it. Its well worth it. I was waiting for quite a while to get this, but wanted to save the money - thankfully this shows up!

And in other news, there's a sale going on for Dr. Luigi:

http://alwaysnintendo.com/get-5-dr-luigi-purchase-already-dr-mario-april-10/

If you already own Dr. Mario (NES Virtual Console), then you can get Dr Luigi for $10 instead of the usual $15. If you don't have Dr. Mario, it's not all that bad - you can buy Dr. Mario first for $5 and then get Dr. Luigi for $10 - saving you $5 either way.

So basically it's Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi for $15 instead of $20, you just need to get Dr. Mario first.

And for the record, Dr. Mario/Luigi is pretty darn fun.

Nintendo should definitely hire out and license their properties more. Hyrule Warriors is a start, but I'd like to see licensed Star Fox, Metroid, and F-Zero titles popping up at E3 as well.

I honestly am surprised we haven't heard more about Hyrule Warriors yet. I'd like to see more come around for it.

Oh, and... thank God for this topic... or Sean... discussion in the other topic was driving me nuts...

They haven't said anything about any of the games the announced other than Mario Kart 8

Tired of being left in the dark on this shit.

Thank you Sean for creating this topic. =3

Anyways, I hope we hear more about Hyrule Warriors at E3 too. And Yarn Yoshi. AND SMTxFire Emblem. >> I know Nintendo is usually very secretive about their projects but we haven't heard from those games for more than a YEAR.

Agreed. We need a ton of new information. I'm trying to figure out why we haven't heard anything about Hyrule Warriors yet especially; I know there's E3, but I thought the idea of showing Hyrule Warriors off sooner was so that it wouldn't interfere with the main Zelda game announcement at E3.

Waiting till E3 isn't how marketing works.

Once you announce a game, you're supposed to do everything in your power to provide constant consumer attention to it until the release regardless of what day it is.

Nintendo used to great with marketing. What Happened?

The 2000s? lack of a direct competitor, or a need to compete heavily to make headway

Yeah, only thing we really ever get any information on these days are on most of their well known games instead of the ones that have hardly gotten any exposure. I know their trying to let people know about smash bros. and mario kart but I still wish they would show some of the more obscure stuff like bayo 2, hyrule warriors, anything that isn't anything that everyone and their mother already knows about for the ones who want more than just MK and SSB.

X is a tentative 2014 release, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a Japan only date. Nintendo's really good with speedy localization, but games like this seem to take significantly longer. Anyway, I do hope we learn more about Hyrule Warriors myself, considering it's supposed to be a Summer release. Of course, I don't have to really mention the excitement for the SSB Direct.

Nintendo has, of late, gotten really cautious about revealing things about games too soon. The overhype of Smash Dojo is mostly to blame, as is the insanely long development cycle of Twilight Princess. I wish it wasn't so.

Yarn Yoshi and SMTxFE were announced far too early.  With that in mind, I'm okay with pretending that they hadn't been announced at all, because at some point they will be re-announced with reasonable release dates and at that point should receive appropriate amounts of promotion.  Should.

Who knows? They did really well with the Wii, but tried to do the same with Wii U, which didn't work. I guess while that audience moved on, Nintendo didn't. I'm sure they will, though.

That said, I thought they had some good commercials for Christmas. Especially the "Because it's Nintendo" was quite nice. I like the Luigi's Mansion 2 commercial, too.

Well, it's been constantly shown as a 2014 game for Europe and NA, so I'm sure it'll be out this year for us, too.

lol, But they sold really well!

They sold really well, but there was a huge backlash from the community later on. It's really stupid.

I'm interested in what they mean about more info on Zelda 2015. I just hope that we don't scream if it looks completely different from that tech demo 2 years ago.

And dat Smash Bros. Direct. CAN'T WAIT!

Didn't Aonuma say we'd see something Zelda U on this E3?

It's likely that they'll give it a mention at the very least, but whether we see a teaser trailer or any gameplay footage remains to be seen. Depends how far along in development the game is.

Yes, he did. We are definitely getting an announcement, they announced last year that they were debating on showing it off at E3 last year but decided to wait a while. They're not going to get by this year without showing it off.

Oh God yes. I wouldn't mind if they update it a little and make a steampunk Zelda game, I'd LOVE to see something like that. But if they turn around and make this epic HD realistic-style game and make it cutesy yet AGAIN, heads will roll.

Which is also why I think that this Smash Bros. Direct means the game has come along further in development than we thought. They've been avoiding big announcements in general so as not to overhype these games. They must be really confident in Smash Bros. at this point in time.

Nintendo eShop Developers Teaming Up in Plan for 'Ninty Indy Con'

An online event to bring download gamers and devs together

Expos and conventions are certainly a major part of any gaming year, whether public events that allow gamers to try new games or industry-based alternatives that allow developers, publishers and platform holders to forge relationships. In an increasingly connected world, however, not all of these events necessarily need a venue hall in which to take place.

Randy Freer of HullBreach Studios — who we previously interviewed regarding his team's HullBreach Uncloaked project — has been in touch to provide an early heads up on a planned online convention / expo centred around eShop developers. With a focus on Wii U initially, there are plans for gamers, media and developers to meet online at a specified time of the year for a series of reveals, announcements and Q & A sessions. This is only in the very earliest stages of planning, though Freer wanted to announce the intention of organising this event and point gamers to the Nintendo Indy Family Twitter account, a hub for the potential grouping and collaboration of download developers that has just been launched; an official website is in development.

With resources such as social networks, Ustream and — particularly — Twitch, it's certainly not infeasible to run a convention using web-cams and live feeds, which is arguably little different to the interactions of live charity game streams, for example.

Would you be interested in participating in an online Nintendo Indy convention? Share your thoughts below.
