Mystery New Sonic Game/Ride @ Joypolis

So yesterday was Sonic Fest at Tokyo Joypolis, and they've had this attraction there called "Halfpipe Tokyo." It's just a random halfpipe experience ride... only it looks like it's been adapted into a new Sonic game/attraction.

 

The only blurb to accompany this image is as follows.... google translate hell ahoy.

 

 

 

In attraction of Tokyo Joypolis, the event to commemorate the 23 anniversary of the birth of Sonic is being held. And the figure of Sonic also screen popular attraction of "half-pipe Tokyo"

 

Now T-Bird and a few other SSMBers are currently at Joypolis, so they might have more pics and even footage. 

 

But from the looks of it, there's some new sonic ride/attraction/game at Joypolis, you can also just make out the logo on one of the screens too.

Going by the screenshot of this new attraction, it appears that Sonic's going through what is likely Tropical Resort in one of the screens. Is this supposed to be something like that Sonic Athletics thing from a few months back>?

This isn't a Sonic thing, it's Halfpipe Tokyo! It's been around for a couple years, I think. Here's a review of it. They must have just added some Sonic songs for the event going on there.

Definitely not a new Sonic game. You can clearly spot Tropical Resort in the background of that image.

Naturally it's disappointing it's not a new game, but it was a nice touch they redecorated it for the 23rd.

Me personally, I'm still naively hoping they'll one day bring Sonic Athletics to America.

I've played the S&SASR arcade, there's no option to play as Knuckles, but there's Big, why???

 

And the Maimai Green game, it's like DDR but the buttons are mapped according to a clock (1-12) and we use our hands.

There are 4 Sonic songs in it

City Escape act 1

Rooftop Run act 1

Reach For The Stars

and Windy Hill act 1 (which i havent played )
