SurrealBrain's Attempts At Art (Don't ask for frequent updates)

This is where I'll be putting my art on this forum. I haven't drawn anything new so far, but I can show you my stuff...or at least, what I'm comfortable showing.

 

This is my attempt at drawing Princess Shokora from Wario Land 4 in a Rhythm Heaven/Game & Wario style. I drew this one to get my spirits up when I got depressed.

 

I am happier now, though there's still some stuff that needs doing before the problems are completely gone. Anyways, I'm actually pretty happy with how this one turned out. It's not perfect, but I say it turned out well, under the circumstances it was drawn.

 

Now, for another.

This is Doppelganger Arle from the Puyo Puyo series. Now, this one I just drew because Puyo Puyo was on my mind while I was visiting my brother, sister in law and nephews.

 

My nephews were given crayons, and I felt like drawing Arle. However, there was no blue. There was red/purple, though, so I used that and decided to call it Doppelganger Arle, and say it was good.

 

Also, I drew this on a napkin.

 

I know some details are missing. I know I got some lines wrong. I know I didn't color her skin. I know I forgot to color one of her shoulder pads. However, considering what I had and what I drew it on. I'd say it turned out well.

 

Just felt like posting this stuff. What do you think?

I was stressed out. I got laid off for at least a couple of days, I felt like screaming at people on the SSMB for no apparent reason, and I was just all around upset.

I had already vowed that last time would be the last time, to boot. A good promise, but I found it difficult to keep it.

Then I remembered what I did when I got stressed over the lack of a job (when I didn't have a job to be laid off from, even temporarily), and I remembered Paul Agnew's words to Ken Penders about how he decided to let his anger fuel his creativity.

So I decided drawing something would be more productive than screaming at SSMB members for no good reason.

It's Amitie from the Puyo Puyo series. She's my favorite Puyo Puyo character by far, thanks in no small part to her designs and her personality.

Funny thing is, I had initially intended to make this a simple drawing of her, but then before long, I had decided to make this a combination of various designs she's had throughout the series. How well I did it is up to you, but I did.

It's something I wanted to do for some time, but couldn't find the motivation to do it. Until now!

I hope people like it.

Of course you'll draw Amitie! I like your motivations for drawing, doing so when under stress or depression. I should do that myself whenever I'm feeling down. (Like now..)

The problem is that my negative attitudes leak into my works, it doesn't exactly make me feel better and I don't feel motivated to make something happy. But hey, if you did it, we'll see if I can too!

Well, I figure I dig up this old fossil. It wasn't easy, but I figure I didn't wanna clutter the forum with another art topic, so here it is.

This is for you, Failinhearts! I wanted to do something for my dear friend for some time...but I just kept sitting on it.

This is Failin's personal version of Sonic the Hedgehog. I don't know if I got the colors quite right, but I think it looks fine, given the circumstances. His grin looks...off, though I inked that into the pic.

I intended it to be of...someone else originally, but obviously, that didn't work out. Fortunately, this works quite well.

Another one for @Failinhearts...but this time, I didn't do it alone.

It was a little project I made with @Spin Attaxx, @Galabance, @The Tenth Doctor and @Moonlit Bastet.

More representations would have been included, but work got in the way, then I put it off for months, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. Adapting to a new schedule was part of why I finally had some motivation to finish it.

I doubt I'll do any more like this, but I hope you like it, Failin!

Well, today's a certain character's birthday...and I figure I should draw a picture of this character.

Have you guessed? No?

That's right, today's Amitie's birthday! I admit, I could have given a better picture, but I wanted to at least draw a pictre of Amitie for her birthday, even if it was simple.

What I kinda did was try a pose similar to her Puyo Pop Fever one, but kinda put her in her Puyo Puyo Tetris attire...because I can never decide which design for Amitie is my definitive favorite; I love them all!

So yeah, Happy Birthday, Amitie!

As some of you may know, I've been playing Pokemon: Ultra Moon lately. I never did play the original Sun and Moon, which may have ironically helped my enjoyement, because I've been getting a lot of enjoyment out of it.

But I'm not gonna lie; I like the design of the female Rising Stars in the game, and was kinda disappointed by the lack of art of any sort. So I decided to make some of my own.

Now, this is actually my second attempt at the drawing; I like to think my first attempt was going reasonably well...but then I attempted to color it with colored pencil, and sadly, what happened was that I completely wrecked it. Due to coloring the original drawing rather than a printer copy (stupid of me, I admit), I had to start completely from scratch. It was annoying, but thankfully, I cought some details that were missed in the first attempt. I made it black-and-white instead.

I hope I did at least okay; what references I did have to use may not have been the best, but they were what was there, and I figure it was better to try and work with them than not. Just wanted to do art of an underappreciated NPC trainer, was all.
