April Fools 2015

Ah, April Fools a day of fun, jokes,Waluigi and sadly people taking advantage of the day and being jerks.

While that last part understandably sours some view of that day, that last part is not what this topic is for, this topic is for the first two things that will be coming this way in two days.

Heck, sometimes the result of a positive received April Fools joke  can lead to great things, such as Adult Swim's revival of Toonami.

So, sit back, relax and enjoy some tomfoolery.

Oh, by the way, Troy Baker's birthday is on April Fools, make sure say Happy Birthday to him when the day arrives.

Make sure this is the only thread April Fool's news stories are posted in. No spammy threads about Nintendo buying Sega, no posting fake news in legitimate threads.

Ah... The simplest pranks are sometimes the best. A simple "your shoelace is untied", for example. One time I switched the tops on the salt and pepper, so my sister put pepper on her bacon and eggs at breakfast rather than salt. That's kinda mean though, so I wouldn't do that today. But one of my favourite examples ever was from when I was still at university in Stirling. I was on the bus on my way into town for lunch with a couple of friends and one of them was reading the Metro, where he was shocked and amazed to find a photo of a two-headed llama. Without so much as missing a beat, I said, "Alan, you do realise what the date today is, don't you?"

Question, though. Is it just Britain that has the rule about no more pranks after midday? And how closely do any of us follow it? Personally, I think it's kinda lame myself, but most people around me take it pretty seriously.

I wasn't that big on April Fools for quite a while. For me, it was just another pointless holiday up there with St. Patrick's Day, where people say dumb things and write stupid stuff and say "APRIL FOOLS!!!1!" afterwards, and did possibly even more hurtful things than constantly pinching people for not wearing green. It became even worse when I came into the online world. Seemed like a stupid holiday for people to do and get away with stupid things just for the sake of it.

Until I found out about the gloriousness that is practical pranking last year, that is.

Plotting specific scenarios which are guarenteed to succeed on someone, creating new and inventive ways to fool someone with household materials, and just the overall tension of setting it all up and not breaking a poker face when someone is getting close to setting a prank is remarkably energizing and ridiculously fun overall. Granted, I haven't set off more than one on last April 1st exactly, (Toothpaste Oreo; went remarkably well) but I've been practicing and plotting a lot more over the months to prepare for a April 1st that'll be an absolute blast to pull off.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a few posters to go put up

To be honest, a very special anniversary to me happens to fall on April 1st, so I refuse to celebrate it under any circumstances.
