Guy sets new London Marathon World Record, Dressed as Sonic

So London Marathon was today, and one guy decided to dress as Sonic.

 

 

However, he had two reasons for running.

 

1: To raise money for Bipolar UK.

 

2: To try and break the world record for the fastest time to run the marathon whilst dressed as a video game character.

 

Well... he's done it!

 

Neil Light managed to cross the line in a time of 3:09:28, beating the previous time held by a pair... dressed as Mario & Luigi, no I'm not making that up, they were the original holders of the record.

Mystical creatures also crossed the finish line, with Adam Jones achieving the world record for the fastest marathon dressed as a leprechaun, completing it in a time of 2:59:30.

I'm not sure what's the most equally beautiful and baffling aspect about this:  The fact that he did it or the fact that such an oddly specific record was even up for grabs in the first place?  Either way, awesome job and for a good cause too!  I approve of this!
