Sonic Turbodrive Fan Fiction

[Starturbo]

So, I'm new here and I wanted to show some of my fan fiction I've been making on DeviantArt. It uses my two fan characters, Specks the Hedgehog and Madison the Moose, and one character by my friend Jacob Gonsalves, named after himself:

 

 

Part 1:

 

 

On the planet of Mobius, lives our hero, Sonic the Hedgehog. From the nation Animalia, Sonic protects the world from Doctor Robotnik, who he refers to as Eggman. Most humans on this planet get along with the Mobians peacefully, though Robotnik has a strong hatred towards them. Robotnik’s goal is to rule the world, killing most of the Mobians and turning the rest into robotic slaves. He has yet to do so, however, thanks to Sonic. Our story begins in Harbor City, the capital of Animalia, where Sonic suspects Robotnik may be…

 

 

“Wow, what an amazing city!” Sonic says to himself. Suddenly, he spots Robotnik in his Egg-Mobile, far off in the distance.

“Hahaha!” Robotnik laughs. There was a hedgehog with brown fur and glasses standing in front of him. “Well, you sure look useful!” Robotnik says. “You’d be great as one of my robots!”

“No way, Robotnik!” shouts the brown-furred hedgehog. “If you want a fight, I’ll give you one!”

“Hahaha!” laughs Robotnik again. “Do you really think you can defeat me?” 

“I don’t know!” shouts the brown hedgehog. “But I’ll certainly try!” 

“Very well, then,” Robotnik says. “Robots, ATTACK!


The brown-furred hedgehog manages to dodge the robots’ first attacks. Meanwhile, Sonic is running as fast as he can to get to the scene. The hedgehog punches one of the robots multiple times and destroys it. He kicks another and it explodes. Sonic, still running, sees what is happening.


“Wow, he’s good!” says Sonic to himself.

Suddenly, a robot manages to hit the brown hedgehog and he flys far back.

“Hahaha!” laughs Robotnik. “I’m surprised your glasses didn’t break!”

“They’re nearly indestructible!” the hedgehog says. “Thanks for noticing!”

“The more you talk, the more I want to roboticize you!” Robotnik says. “Capture him!”


The brown hedgehog begins to worry, but just then, he comes up with an idea. He begins to spin in place, as fast as he can. Robotnik wonders what he is doing at first. The hedgehog launches, still spinning at full speed, towards the robots and destroys them all.


“NOOOOOOO!” Robotnik yells. “You may have won this time, but I’ll be back and next time you won’t be so lucky!”


Robotnik leaves. The hedgehog is still astonished that he was able to do the spin attack. Just then, Sonic finally shows up.


“Wow, that was way past cool!” says Sonic.

“Really?” the brown hedgehog asks.

“Of course!” Sonic says. “Sometimes I’m not even that good at beating Eggman! What’s your name?”

“My name is Specks the Hedgehog and you’re Sonic, right?”

“How did you know?” asks Sonic.

“Almost everyone here knows!” Specks explains. “I’m a huge fan!”

“Well, Specks, how would you like to help me in fighting Eggman?” Sonic asks.

“Well, I don’t know,” Specks says. “I’m not sure if I’m good enough.”

“What are you talking about?” Sonic asks. “Of course you’re good enough!”

“Alright then, I’m in!” Specks agrees. “I have some friends who may be able to help too!”


Suddenly, a grey moose with glasses comes running to the scene.


“Are you okay Specks?” he asks. “I thought I saw Robotnik! I was worried you’d become a robot!"

“No, I’m fine! Specks says. “Sonic was wondering if you wanted to help defeat Robotnik."

“Well, I could build some more gadgets that you could use,” said the moose. "My name’s Madison, by the way."

“Nice to meet you, Madison!” says Sonic, shaking hands. “Any help is appreciated!”

“Well then,” Specks says. “Let’s defeat Eggman once and for all!”

 

 

 

Part 2:

 

 

Sonic, Specks, and Madison begin their journey to stop Robotnik. But first, they must find a certain someone and only Sonic knows who…

 

 

“Where *pant* *pant* are we running?” Specks asks, exhausted.

“To find one of my friends!” Sonic says. “What, are you already tired?”

“Well, *pant* *pant* maybe a little, Specks responds. “I just can’t keep up with you!”

“Me neither!” Madison agrees.


They arrive at the city park and see an orange fox standing there, along with an airplane that says “X-Tornado” on it.


“Hey, I’ve seen that kid before!” says Specks. “Isn’t he your friend Sonic?”

“Of course!” says Sonic. “I’m hardly ever without him!”

“Well, I wouldn’t say that,” the fox comments. “I’ve noticed that he is starting to spend more and more time on his own.”

“Anyways, this is Tails, my friend,” Sonic says.

“Hi, Tails! My name is Specks the Hedgehog!”

“And I’m Madison the Moose!”

“It’s great to meet you both!” says Tails. “Are you ready to take a ride in my X-Tornado?”

“Uh,” Specks says. “I don’t know.”

“Is something wrong?” asks Tails.

“Yeah, I’m sort of afraid of heights,” Specks mentions. “Oh, what the heck, I’ll go!”

“Can I come too?” a voice calls.


Suddenly, a young man comes running up to the group.


“Uh, who are you?” Sonic asks.

“Well, I’m Jacob Gonsalves, but you can call me Jacob G!"

“Nice to meet you, but this isn’t just any old trip,” Sonic explains. “We’re on an important mission to stop an evil scientist from taking over the world!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I figured!” says Jacob G. “And I’m not just any old human either, you know.”

“Well then, what are you?” asks Sonic.

“I’m a superhuman!” Jacob answers.

“Then, how come I’ve never heard of you?” Specks asks. “I know almost all of them and they’re all not real!”

“Listen pal, there’s a strict rule about me not using superpowers,” Jacob begins. “But I’m willing to break that rule to help you guys! I’ve always wanted save the world, but I’ve been stuck at home, unable to use superpowers for all my life! So, I ran away and came here. My super-senses told me you would be here!

“And how are we supposed to believe you?” Sonic asks.


Jacob G. walks over to the X-Tornado and lifts the entire plane up with one hand.


“Woah!” Specks says. “You really are a superhuman!”

“I told you so!” says Jacob. “So, can I join now?”

“I’m sorry,” says Sonic. “But you should probably just go home. I don’t want you to get in trouble.”

“Oh come on, Sonic!” says Specks. “He can help us out a lot! Just think of what we can achieve! If we actually defeat Eggman, I doubt anyone would be mad at him!”

“Well, alright!” says Sonic.

“Yay!” says Jacob. “We can call ourselves Team Turbo!”

“Great name!” Madison says.

“Well then,” says Tails. “Let’s all go in the X-Tornado!”


Everyone enters the X-Tornado.

 

 

 

Part 3:

 

 

As the X-Tornado takes off, Specks feels nervous. Not only is he is afraid of heights, but he also starts thinking about his family and school. He worries about what will happen if Robotnik isn’t defeated and how everyone back home will react. Specks also worries about Robotnik defeating him and not coming back at all. Meanwhile, Madison wonders where the plane is taking everyone…

 

 

“Excuse me, Tails?” asks Madison.

“Yes,” Tails responds.

“Where are we going?” Madison asks. “I thought I was going to build some gadgets!”

“Don’t worry!” says Tails. “We’re going to my workshop! I have enough materials for you to build almost whatever you want!”

“Wait, do you build gadgets yourself?” asks Madison.

“Mostly vehicles,” Tails says. “In fact, I built this airplane all by myself!”

“Wow!” says Madison. “Maybe you can teach me how to build vehicles and I can teach you how to build gadgets! Then, we can both work together!”

“Sounds great!” Tails agrees.


Jacob G. begins to notice Specks looking nervous and asks him about it.


“Hey, Specks?” Jacob asks.

“Yeah,” Specks responds.

“Is anything wrong?” asks Jacob. “You look a little nervous.”

“I am,” says Specks.

“What about?” asks Jacob. “The fact that we’re up high?”

“Well that,” Specks begins. “And also my family and my school. Everyone will be furious with me if we don’t succeed and maybe even if we do! I’m kind of starting to wish I didn’t come along. What if I get killed?”

“Listen man,” Jacob says. “Those are all things I’m worried about too! Well, maybe not heights, but still. Just think of all the trouble I can get in if people find out I’ve using my super-powers! I could get killed too! What I’m trying to say is, we all worry about things, but if those worries are for the greater good, than why let them hold you back?”

“I guess you’re right,” Specks agrees. “Thank you, Jacob. You’re a great friend!”

“No problem!” Jacob says. “Anytime!”


The X-Tornado finally lands at Tails workshop and everyone gets out.


“Guys, welcome to my workshop!” says Tails.

“It looks amazing!” Madison says.


Everyone goes inside Tails workshop. There, they meet a pink hedgehog who introduces herself.


“Amy, what are you doing here?” asks Sonic.

“I was wondering if everyone wanted a tour!”

“Sounds great!” Madison says.


Sonic and Tails agree to let Amy give a tour. First, Amy shows everyone all of Tails’ vehicles.


“And this is the Tornado,” Amy says. “Not the X-Tornado you all flew in, but the original model!”

“Now I can see why the X-Tornado was built,” Jacob says. “This can hardly fit two people!”


Everyone laughs. Finally, Amy brings everyone to the invention room.


“And this is where all the magic happens!” Amy says. “Enjoy!”

"Yep, this place is amazing!" Madison says.


Madison and Tails get to work building their inventions.

 

 

 

Part 4:

 

 

Madison and Tails work together building new gadgets and vehicles. Meanwhile, Specks has a conversation with Sonic.

“So, how long have you lived in Harbor City?” Sonic asks.

“All my life,” Specks replies.

“Did you like it?” Sonic asks.

“Well, sorta,” Specks begins. “You see, it’s a great city and all, but my school was a different story.”

“What happened at your school?” Sonic asks.

“Well, I got a lot of homework,” Specks replies. “And I was bullied.”

“Why, you’re one of the coolest people I’ve met!” Sonic says.

“For really stupid reasons,” Specks says. “But, I guess that's typical for someone like me.”

“Typical?” Sonic asks.

“Have you ever been to school?” Specks asks.

“No,” says Sonic. “You see, me and almost all my friends have permission to miss school in order to fight Eggman. I, personally, was home-schooled as a kid. And sure I’ve heard of bullying and seen some of it, heck, Eggman bullies me all the time! I guess I kind of bully him too. I just didn’t know it was so common in schools!”

“Well, it has gotten much better lately,” Specks explains. “Over time, I was bullied less and less, in fact, recently I haven’t been bullied at all! Well, in school that is. But it still happens to people sometimes and it probably always will, unfortunately.”


Tails interrupts.


“Hey guys,” says Tails. “Check out these inventions we’ve made!”


Tails and Madison give gadgets to everyone. First, they give everyone a communicator watch. Then, they give Sonic attachments for his shoes, which allow him to run on water. They give Specks new glasses, which can act as normal, x-ray, and night-vision glasses. They also give Jacob G. a sword. Finally, Tails gives Amy a hammer.


“It’s called a Piko Piko Hammer! We built it in case you wanted to help us defeat Robotnik!”

“I’ll do it!” Amy agrees. “Robotnik won’t stand a chance against me and this hammer! By the way, what did you make yourselves?”

“I made a gun!” says Madison. “But not just any old gun. It can shoot bullets, electricity, and lasers!”

“And I made these bombs!” says Tails. “So far, there’s hundreds of them, so I won’t run out anytime soon! We also made everyone new vehicles!”


Tails brings everyone into a room where he shows them their new vehicles. There’s a hoverboard for Sonic, cars for Specks and Amy, and a motorcycle for Jacob G.


“Hey, how did you know I love to ride?” Jacob asks.

“Lucky guess,” says Tails. “It’s not just any old motorcycle either. It can hover above ground, water, and can even go underwater!

“Cool!” Jacob replies.

“Madison and I will use the original Tornado for our vehicle,” Tails explains. “It’s really not as useless as you may think! Also, I made one more thing, follow us!


Everyone follows Tails and Madison to a room they hadn’t seen during the tour. There, they see a gigantic spacecraft.


“Woah, what is that thing?” Specks asks.

“It’s called the Blue Typhoon,” says Tails. “Don’t think we just started building it now, I’ve been hiding it in this secret room for a long time now. Thanks to help from Madison, we just completed it. It is able to go into outer space and has more than enough room to carry all our your new vehicles!”

“Do you think we can ride it to wherever Robotnik is now?” Jacob asks.

“Why not?” replies Tails. “According to the internet, people have just reported seeing Robotnik, breaking into the Chaos Soda factory?”

“What, does he not drink enough of that stuff?” Sonic asks. “Anyways, we better go see what he’s up to. Knowing Eggman, it’s nothing good!”

“Right then, to the Blue Typhoon!” Tails says.


Everyone brings their vehicles and gadgets into the Blue Typhoon with them. It then takes off, bringing them to their first team battle with Robotnik!

 

 

 

So, what does everything think? By the way, I'll be making more parts soon! I'll try to add them as I finish them!

Your work certainly has some good foundations, although the OCs seem to come out of nowhere. I'd recommend setting up OCs before having them get involved in the overall plot of your story, get the reader invested in their personalities and create some build up with the characters by themselves before they meet the main characters.

 

I have a DA account as well, perhaps we could compare our work and help eachother out

Thanks for the advice! I actually have a bio for Specks and I'm planning on making one for Madison too. I'm also planning on showing off more of their personalities and backstories later in the story. I don't really want to go back to Part 1 and change everything, though maybe I could also make a prequel to Sonic Turbodrive as well.
